The Truth About Milwaukee Packout for Garage Organization

The Milwaukee Packout wall system for garage organization is the best bang for your buck, in my opinion. Installation was a breeze in which I made use of 1x4 strapping and GRK cabinet screws to fasten two Large Milwaukee Wall Plates. I can't wait to modify this system over time, and I know i'll be able to given its modularity!

you have to go to the lag bolt section and not the screw section, they have them there as well as lowes

Nice video! It's funny, though you are OCD about a tray that's a little off-center. But your workbench is covering your entry way by what appears to be 10 to 12 inches! 😂

lol, maybe I’m not so OCD after all. I bought this box while living in a previous home and it fit perfectly. After recently moving, it’s a bit more of a challenge to make everything fit just right. That being said, the door in question isn’t used very often and the box itself doesn’t obstruct the door, just the window.

Thank you! As for those items, in my old garage I used 12.4 inch wall mounted hooks. What was good about them is that they could hold a lot of stuff, what was bad is that the stuff in the back was hard to get to. I talked about this briefly in my video walkthrough of the old garage (two videos back). In this garage I’m planning on a packout wall with attachments for those types of tools. Video forthcoming!

Yep, no way around that. Wish this stuff was cheaper for sure. I justify it to myself by using the old “buy once, cry once”. Should last me a lifetime and can adapt to any number of organizational situations.

What size screws did you use to attach the strapping to the wall?

#9 2 1/2”. Believe they are GRKs requiring a T25 bit

Ok good to know. Bought some today and going to put up my first wall mount tomorrow. Going with the 1x4 fur strapping. Putting 2 rows of 3 large wall mounts. Did you pre-drill the strapping/studs before fastening them on?
