    100% agree on OG will ship you stuff better than anyone else ever has. Always impressed by how you guys take time to tape up bottle caps and wrap things. I ordered from rag company when you guys were out of beadmaker a few years back, that thing came busted and half empty lol. Nobody does it the way OG does. Thanks for all you do Matt

    Griots 3 in 1 ceramic spray wax has been the single best topper to any coating ive ever applied for my clients. its durable on its own, adds gloss but most importanyly can be applied as a drying aide to boost hydrophobics. it should definately be part of this group of products no questions asked.

    Griot's is such a good place to start if you're just getting into detailing. The interior cleaner was my first product I bought. Also, they have that amazing fire hose nozzle that you used to use back in their store

    Congrats on your partnership with GG. I am similar in age to you, so when I got my first “big boy” new car back in 2000, I started with Griot’s products. Meguiars and Mothers was pretty popular but GG had a better user experience and overall quality about them… still use their stuff today!

    Griots was my genesis as well. I was in 6th grade in the mid 90s and a friend of my dads who was visiting pulls out this blue bottle of speed shine to wipe down his Lexus when he was visiting. He left me a spare catalog he had in his trunk and I sat for hours reading that darn thing cover to cover. That’s when I discovered there were more people ‘like me’ out there in the world.
    So happy to see you come full circle and be able to offer the products that still make you smile.
    PS - You’re looking great Matt! Keep it up, sir!

    Great video Matt ! I have been a Griot's fan for probably 25+ years. The G15 is my go to polisher as a professional over any other polisher. This has an 1100 watt motor whereas the Rupes LHR15 Mark III only has a 500 watt motor. I "never" once stalled my G15 and I can't say enough good things about Griot's Garage. Their customer service is excellent so you teamed up with a top notch company. If I am not mistaken , they have a lifetime warranty on their polishers which is amazing and not seen with any other company in this industry. Best of luck in your new venture with Nick and the team over at Griot's Garage and look forward to more great content. I forgot to add, I have their Brilliant Finish Foam Cannon and it is the best foam cannon I ever used so check that one at as well.

    Back in the day it was all Meguiar's for me. Fast forward when I had a worthy car for detailing again I stumbled upon Griot's and fell in love with their products. It did not take long until I got the itch to try other brands and that's when I found out about Obsessed Garage. This was the pivotal point in taking my personal detailing to the next level with prosumer products and filtering out all the nonsense which has saved me a bunch of money. Their exterior detailing PFM towels are amazing as well as the professional water hose that I have on my ELEY reel. I've been stacking the crap out of the Best of Show spray wax on my daily so I can blast through the gallon I bought and the water behavior acts similar to coated paint. I visited their flagship store three years ago and congrats on convincing them to sell some of their stuff!

    Finally! The BOSS cannon is the best! The 1.25mm jet is installed out of the box. I installed the Mosmatic quick connect and I keep a spare bottle filled with Brakebuster. Super nice to screw an old Griot's bottle on that's filled with plain old water to flush after use. Also, lifetime warranty. 💪🏼🙌🏼🧼

    I've always liked the Griots line of chemicals. Engine cleaner is great, Interior cleaner is the best I've tried so far. Griots 3-in-1 Leather Spray was one of the initial products I purchased to "detail" my first car. Its smell, which I imagine is the same as their Interior Car Scent, is very nostalgic for me as well. I use KC Pol Star, Colourlock Mild Leather Cleaner, and N914 for my interior, and I have products that function similarly to the rest (though I'm curious how the foam cannon performs compared to the MTM one. I certainly like the way the MTM one looks more.) I've been using the Fast Correcting Cream for a couple years as my "sledgehammer" compound and I do really like it. I was scared away from cheap polishers by an Amazon rotary so my first DA was a Rupes. I guess I'm spoiled in that regard.

    Awesome video for guys like me who aren’t familiar with Griots products. I like to spray my favourite scent into my cabin air filter. It doesn’t last long but it lasts longer than just misting it in the carpet or a sponge. I would say it lasts a week or so.

    I’ve been using Griot’s interior cleaner for around 15 years now. I’ve tried other cleaners, but nothing works as well as Griot’s. I like that it is unscented, and I personally hate the smell of P&S interior cleaner. I have always used Griot's on my leather steering wheels to keep them clean with a factory matte finish. Works great!

    Great video that brought back many memories of Griots products, both good and bad. Early 2000s I would spend hours looking over each new catalog. But unfortunately when I finally bought my first kit it was the Gen 1 polisher and that awful 4 step polishing system. I was so disappointed with the product I quit detailing my cars for years. I’m back into detailing now. Still have my gg wash bucket, 2 of the bug scrubbers and a very old bottle of new car scent! I have been learning a lot about how detailing has changed over the last 15 or so years. Thanks again for all the great videos.

    • @ObsessedGarage

    Two things about the P&S interior cleaner that I love is the smell, it doesn’t stay but also has a pleasant user experience. It also fades away when wiping like a window cleaner, along with leaving a factory new look. Is the griots interior cleaner similar? Is it worth the switch?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      The thing I like most about the Griot's Interior Cleaner is that it just cleans. There are no scents, no dyes, nothing to leave any trace behind.

    I haven't found anything better than the Griot's foaming surface prep at cleaning redwood spots and sap from my oak tree off paint. At full strength i just let it soak for a little and then it washes off. Before trying it I had to use clay to get the redwood spots off and that still didn't work well.

  • @improvedgarage
    @improvedgarage ปีที่แล้ว

    Its great to see these in the store. i agree that the griots boss cannon is awesome, i found that straight GSF doesnt work well in the metering tip, i had to do like 800ml soap / 200ml di water and a metering tip to make it work, but i can get like 20 cars out of a foam cannon. As long as you use DI water on the mix you dont need to worry about the surfactants attacking the crappy water and losing foam over time.

    Awesome job on this video Matt one thing that I think would be really cool would be for guys like myself on that boat is starting now like I have the $300 HarborFreight pressure washer, but the hose in the gun are complete garbage I think it would be cool if you sold the kit came with the conversion fittings of 50 foot hose and be able to use different guns and the kit included all the quick connect fittings. I love your logic why you like things and you don’t like things my wife tells me I over analyze things but at the same time I wanted to be correct. I would also like to see a video tutorial on beginner guides like what you’re just talking about with the foam cannon and those jetting what does that mean and what does that do? You do a lot of high-end things. The only people who have that kind of budget can afford to do. I’m the middle of the road Kai right now and to be honest with you I would try to kill her both if it was my business I have no time or patience for the section 8 class.

      Ha, ha... Griot's is a bit of an odd company. They were sort of pro-sumer focused detailing provider in the beginning, then detailing ran away from them with new chemicals, machines, and processes that they didn't keep up with at the time. After that happened they hired Jeff Brown and made the Boss line of stuff. I think they are the one mainstream company that stayed pretty authentic through their success. Having stuff at Autozone has not seemed to change them or their product offering. But...they certainly aren't an authority on all things.

    Matt, while talking with the Rupes guys a few years ago, they gave me the impression that Griot's polishers is a Chinese rip off of their long throw system. In fact, my local Rupes guys categorized Griots polisher as a rebranded Max Shine from the same factory. Is that a fair assessment?

    Does the fast correcting cream finish well if used with the least agressive finishing pad?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does. You will still see a pretty visible benefit to Sonax Perfect finish afterward on most paint systems. Fast Correcting Creme is pretty aggressive and does leave quite a bit of haze behind.

    The newer foam cannon is better imo, this one here is just more expensive. It also wants more GPM, the newer one works better with lower GPM washers. I do have both as well. The compound is good, works great, the engine cleaner is ok, the interior cleaner is great but it’s not needed. Rinseless does the job, the microfiber cleaner I haven’t used yet. And the polishers, stay away from the 3” you’ll be highly disappointed, the 21mm I had also and it vibrates like crazy, has a rattling sound to it, very uncomfortable sound, the 15mm is a good machine.

      I have and like both of their foam cannons, but I always use the BOSS. It feels higher quality, the shape is better, the bottle is thicker, stainless steel, and it creates better foam. I like the Brilliant Finish cannon for sure, but it's noticably worse IMO.

    • @AmirAbdullah
      @AmirAbdullah ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joshread3740 I haven’t had that experience with it. I have both and the boss cannon wants more gpm to do the same work.

    i have a 2.3gpm pressure washer and have the mjjc pro foam cannon, it came with a 1.2 orifice. should I swap it out ?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's close to the limit of needing a 1.5mm orifice. Anything over 2.5GPM I recommend changing it out. I have them available in the Obsessed Garage store.

    Regarding interior scent’s isn’t it the fact you just get used to it? Not so much it dissipating.

    What’s the difference between the Interior Cleaner and Interior Detailer?

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interior Cleaner can be used to clean any surface inside the car; plastic trim, leather, carpet. I like this because it doesn't leave anything behind, just a matte, clean finish.
      Interior Detailer is a lighter duty cleaner for interior surfaces and provides UV protection. Other the putting Colourlock Leather Shield to protect and condition leather, I don't find any other interior protection necessary.
