One thing that really stands out relative to many TH-cam shop tour videos is the abundance of natural light. It must be very inspiring to walk into that shop when the morning light is pouring in through those floor to ceiling windows.

    Hi Dennis,
I have to say, your woodworking shop is not just a workshop-it's a masterpiece. It's the most organized and beautiful space I've ever seen, and I know I'm not alone in thinking that. I have been an architect and woodworker for decades. So many have commented on the cleanliness and order of your workshop, but I don’t think anyone has asked the obvious question: What do you do when you're not in the shop?
Your attention to detail and the aesthetic sense you bring to your space go far beyond what's typical. It’s clear that your workshop isn’t just about function; it’s about a thoughtful design that elevates the entire craft. You've taken Robert Pirsig’s notion of quality to a whole new level. Someone once said we all have the same 24 hours in a day, and I would add that we all have access to the same tools. But you’ve combined those hours and tools in a way that inspires everyone with the order, functionality, and beauty of your creations.
Oh, and I should mention-you’re a pretty darn good teacher, too!
So, tell us, what do you do when you’re not in the shop?

One, I will tell my story! But I am retired at this moment. That is where I find the time to do these videos. I was an entrepreneur for 25 years but sold my company 8 years back. This TH-cam channel was a great way to explore my creativity and I have to keep my mind busy with problem-solving issues.

Great video. You have a sharp looking shop. I totally agree that it makes your shop more enjoyable when it’s clean and organized. And projects go smoother. I just finished up a project. I’ve known for a while that my shop is not efficient. But this project really highlighted it. I would have enjoyed it more, got it done quicker and done a better job if i was more organized and efficient. It’s a work in progress.
I finished my project last night. And I spent about 20-30 minutes (like you said) and cleaned up afterwards. I don’t always do this. But man… when I went into the shop today it sure did inspire me to get started on the next project. It was a small quick project. So again I cleaned up after. It was so much more enjoyable to start with it clean rather than clean first… or worse… start in the chaos.
    Thanks for the tour!

Great video! Regarding the Miter digital meter: your current solution looks great and I would love to have it. But it requires quite some redesign of the workbench top. For example, in small workshops one cannot afford to lose space with the lower section for the saw. Also, in small workshops one often has to move the miter saw to be able to make the cut for a larger piece. If possible, I think an attachment to saws like the Kapex would be awesome. I would definitely be a buyer.

I would purchase your "point-zero" miter saw stop block if it becomes a product. I previously purchased your entire plan package but would also purchase plans for the drill press and miter saw cabinets if you offer them. I think the plans for the cabinets and the zero clearance miter saw fence would be great additions and would integrate well with the digital stop block.

Hi Dennis, I am intrigued with the wall linings in this shop. Do you have a particular way of attaching things to it? For instance, do you screw into some kind of expanding nut that slides into the vertical groves between the upright slats, or to you just drill directly in to the wood?

Any chance will be uploading plans for your adjustable assembly table, miter saw cabinets, and T ruler holder? Love all of the designs and would like to implement these as well. Would love plans or a video with more information to be able to build my own.

I love your workbenches (and even bought a set of plans, as I'm planning to make a few for my own shop!), but I was wondering. Since you've had the workbenches and the drawers for a while, have you had any issues where you'd want to make the MDF rails have more support (or have a piece of something like UHMW so the MDF isn't grinding itself down at all)? I LOVE the design, but that's the only thing I've been wondering about before I start to make mine.
