Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC) is the hardest game. Reasons why: 1. Screen Crunch 2. The Challenge Mode 3. You VS. Boo 4. SMB2J REMAKE!!!! WITH JANKY JUMPS!! 5. On the GameBoy Color with a NON ILLUMINATED TINY SCREEN! 6. Cartridge used battery saving, so if the battery dies, you need to replace it, (which is difficult) & you start back at square-1!!!
Admit it- we all got trolled by that poison mushroom in Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels. I was playing it on LodgeNet and didn’t know that Nintendo would make a mushroom in a Mario game a hazard
Wasn't expecting a list like this, because I didn't think there were many hard games for this franchise. Though Galaxy 2 isn't that difficult until you get to some of the Green Stars and... that level.
I love Mario sunshine it made me want a GameCube from when I was 5 to when I was 8 and I loved playing it even though I wasn’t good at it but about 2 years ago I finally beat it and I was so proud of myself because I had worked hard to beat it over the years so yeah it’s definitely hard especially since some of the shines that are required are ridiculously overly difficult
I just couldn’t ever get with the baby Mario concept. Super Mario World 2 is the only Mario game that I never played on the consoles I had growing up (NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64)
For Super Mario 3, imagine if Raccoons in real life could use their tails to slowly glide down from trees. Now how strong would an umbrella have to be to stop raining raccoons?
I 100%'ed Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine. I used a guide, so go ahead and judge me. The verdict I pass upon myself is "Sensible".
Every 2d Mario was like that before Mario World... it was vert rare for Nes and Gameboy games, especially side scrollers to have a save feature. Also you can beat the game in like an hour... a save feature would be a clear waste of space and effort.
Is it just me, or am I one of the few that found Sunshine much easier than 64? I know I adjusted to the camera on Sunshine much quicker, and the controls were easy to adapt to. Lost Levels, on the other hand, was a major challenge. Backward warp pipes, wind, poison mushrooms. I'd say that game earned the top spot, but once you know what you are doing, it becomes pretty easy after a while.
I feel like Lost Levels is the only one here that's actually hard (Haven't played the original Super Mario Land though so there's that but if games like 64 and Sunshine are above it then it might be easy then)
Good lord, could the volume level on your voice be any lower? I really love straining to hear you and then having the game audio come blasting out. Also, you guys really didn't do your research for this one, did you? Yoshi's Island is the first Yoshi game. They obviously only put "Mario World 2" in the title to try and capture the popularity of Mario World. No one sees it as World's sequel, not even Nintendo. Re-releases have omitted the "Mario World 2" part and just call it Yoshi's Island. Also, that game isn't hard. It can be tough to 100% complete, but otherwise...pretty easy. That game drowns you in lives. I can't see Sunshine being that hard either. How can Sunshine be higher on the list above 64 when Fluud makes platforming easier? Outside of the levels without Fluud, it's not that hard. But US Mario 2 is. Try that game again. It's tough. Getting extra lives is hard since it's totally random. It does fit the NES that way. Mario 2 should have replaced Sunshine. One last fun fact too. You can continue in Mario 1. Hold down "A" and press "Start" after losing and you'll continue from the start of the last world you were in.
First of all, adjust the audio. Narrator is whispering and game sounds are LOUD. Second of all, Super Mario Land is super easy! Beat it on first try in under 5 hours and I dont even call myself a Mario pro.
I honestly just wish that it would be easier to control the camera in mario 64, but I don't blame them for making the camera control annoying, especially sense it was their first 3d game.
You don’t have to restart in Mario 1 each time you lose all lives. You good select or start, I can’t recall, and continue from 1st level of that world.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Luigi U and Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels and Super Mario All-Stars is the hardest Mario game on my switch
For anyone who didn't actually watch the video: №10 _Super Mario Galaxy 2_ №9 _Super Mario Land_ №8 _Super Mario World_ №7 _Super Mario 64_ №6 _Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island_ №5 _Super Mario Bros. 3_ №4 _Super Mario Sunshine_ №3 _New Super Luigi U_ №2 _Super Mario Bros._ (yes, the ORIGINAL one from the 80s) №1 _Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels_ Wouldn't be surprised if an updated version of this list included _Super Mario Bros. Wonder_ since rumor says it's been decimating playtesters.
I finished the main story of sunshine maybe almost a year now and I miss the environment of the game. I don't miss the controls though. Part of what made it so difficult was its slippery control movement of Mario. It was just annoying.
I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels is THE hardest Mario game. Makes Super Mario Galaxy 2 look like a cakewalk.
the famicom disk system, Super Mario 2 was the hardest of all Mario games.. (i did beat the Lost Level SNES version in the Super Mario All Star compilation but not the FDS version, I did tried but failed too many...)
The narrator Aaron Kline needs to make a cleaner narration when narrating or the team behind it needs to have narration sound make more clear to understand, because compared to previous narrators, it is almost hard to understand what he is saying
I don't find Super Mario 64 and Super Mario World to be difficult, at least not after playing them a zillion times Super Mario World especially after find the Top-Secret Area in Donut Plains. If you need power-ups and Yoshi, you just go there and get stocked up.
Sunshine is not all hard, but some of it, hard as F***!! The two I hate the most is the Plinko game and mission 8 on Pinna Park with the roller coaster and balloons. Holy $#!7 took forever. I beat it 100% 2 times in my whole life. Once on GC and once on switch
Vs. Super Mario bros is super difficult. You know why? Because the only way to play it legally without the arcade cabinet is on the Nintendo Switch, and the input lag is terrible, just as every other Arcade Archives games on Switch. There are better ways to play it, like NES reproduction carts and other arcade emulators with less lag, but when it comes to playing the game the way that Nintendo provide us with, it's almost unplayable.
lets have the volume of commentary at level 1 but crank the volume up to 25 for the game sounds so no one knows what is being said AND we make the listeners go deaf
Did you really just say that Mario 64 is more difficult than Super Mario World? And that Sunshine is harder than both SM World and SMB3? What are y'all smoking? None of the 3D Marios even hold a candle to any of the old 2D Mario games in terms of difficulty
Not quite sure why Mario 64 is on here I don’t find it that hard, also I feel sunshine should be number 2 ESPECIALLY when you take getting all 120 shine sprites (fuck the blue coins)
What do you think is the hardest Mario game? Let us know in the comments.

Something's wrong with the audio balancing on this one. The guy is real quiet compared to the rest of the audio
I definitely miss playing Super Mario 35
Donkey Kong (1994) for GameBoy is really hard!
Super Mario Bros. Deluxe (GBC) is the hardest game.
Reasons why:
1. Screen Crunch
2. The Challenge Mode
3. You VS. Boo
Mario Sunshine
Audio on this video is terrible. The narrator is whispering and the game audios are super loud. Makes it unwatchable.
I can hear him just fine 🤷🏾♂️
Ahh goo lagoon where another whining person lays in the water
I don't see what you're talking about because I know how to use a volume button
@@JoshSTATiX I you can’t
@@Demigodking what?!
Though Galaxy 2 isn't that difficult until you get to some of the Green Stars and... that level.
I have so much fun playing these Mario games. The harder they are, the more exciting they get. It'd be too boring if all the levels were too easy.
That’s a huge issue with Mario Wonder. 5 Star levels are a joke:(
I love Mario sunshine it made me want a GameCube from when I was 5 to when I was 8 and I loved playing it even though I wasn’t good at it but about 2 years ago I finally beat it and I was so proud of myself because I had worked hard to beat it over the years so yeah it’s definitely hard especially since some of the shines that are required are ridiculously overly difficult
Great job on the video but the audio is pretty rough. My favorites are Super Mario bros 3, Mario 64 and Super Mario Land.
All of these Super Mario games are Super Fun and Awesome to play Throughout the Years!
Headphone Warning‼
I thought it was my phone but the audio on this video is not good and needs checked. Idk how this made it pass the editors and got uploaded.
Crazy how Mario 2 is not on here.
I agree that Super Mario bros the Lost level and Super Mario Sunshine is one of the hardest main Mario games.
This needs to be deleted and reuploaded with the audio fixed.
I just couldn’t ever get with the baby Mario concept. Super Mario World 2 is the only Mario game that I never played on the consoles I had growing up (NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64)
Great audio balance on the video
Mario Land 1? World? 3? Really? Surprised these are on the list. Had no problems getting through them as a kid.
You sound so cool and edgy!
Okay but Mario games are easy
Super Mario bros 3, Mario sunshine, Mario 64 and super Mario world were my favorites
Super Mario Land is also hard because there is no save feature and you have to beat it in one shot. Why?!?! 😲
cause it came off the heels of mario 1 NES
Every 2d Mario was like that before Mario World... it was vert rare for Nes and Gameboy games, especially side scrollers to have a save feature. Also you can beat the game in like an hour... a save feature would be a clear waste of space and effort.
Someone please give the narrator some coffee.
Why can a fireball bounce?
It's actually a superball
Is it just me, or am I one of the few that found Sunshine much easier than 64? I know I adjusted to the camera on Sunshine much quicker, and the controls were easy to adapt to.
Lost Levels, on the other hand, was a major challenge. Backward warp pipes, wind, poison mushrooms. I'd say that game earned the top spot, but once you know what you are doing, it becomes pretty easy after a while.
Sunshine way easier than 64 to me could be because the visuals made me want to play sunshine more
@ShundaeOutlet I think the visuals were what drew me in as well. It's still a fun game.
Why the audio is so bad in this video?
Sunshine was my first video game GOAT ❤️❤️❤️
Super Mario Bros. 3 was WAY difficult. SMB2 (American Version) was EXTREMELY EASY.
lol no shit smb3 is way harder than smb2 US its diffuclt at first getting used to the mechanics coz its not an original mario game
That's crazy. Mario 2 is much harder than 3.
I feel like Lost Levels is the only one here that's actually hard
(Haven't played the original Super Mario Land though so there's that but if games like 64 and Sunshine are above it then it might be easy then)
Love your video
I dont mind the audio thing everyone is talking about, but wow this list is a wild take. No Og super mario bros? No lost levels? No SMB2?
The game volume on this video is so loud compared to the voice over. I had to adjust my volume through the whole thing because of it.
Good lord, could the volume level on your voice be any lower? I really love straining to hear you and then having the game audio come blasting out.
Also, you guys really didn't do your research for this one, did you? Yoshi's Island is the first Yoshi game. I thought I was the only one noticing the voice and game audio discrepency. WatchMojo, please work on this. I don't think this is the 1st time.
First of all, adjust the audio. Narrator is whispering and game sounds are LOUD. Second of all, Super Mario Land is super easy! Beat it on first try in under 5 hours and I dont even call myself a Mario pro.

Fix the audio💀
what the fuck is the audio mixing on this video lmao
No SMB game is difficult. Gotta be riding that short bus to not be able to beat a SMB game.😂
super mario land had a super ball powerup, it wasn't a fire powerup
It was still a plant
You would think such a large channel would be able to properly mix audio...

cant we just appreciate them providing us with fire 🔥 content
I honestly just wish that it would be easier to control the camera in mario 64, but I don't blame them for making the camera control annoying, especially sense it was their first 3d game.
You don’t have to restart in Mario 1 each time you lose all lives. You good select or start, I can’t recall, and continue from 1st level of that world.
That's only in the Mario 1 SNES edition in the compilation "All-Stars", in the NES original version you have to restart each time you lose all lives.
Mario games are the dark souls of platformers
Before watching this just gonna say my favorite games are Sunshine and Lost Levels.
Nintendo going to ride Mario to the wheel fall off I love it tho
Can you guys buy mics or they are to expensive?
Easier to do two player in the secret final level
And Japan got our Mario 2 as Mario USA. lol
No super Mario odyssey is criminal
I'm so sorry to say it, but I just cannot listen to his voice :( There is barely any excitement
Is it just me or is the narrators voice ridiculously quiet?
Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Luigi U and Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels and Super Mario All-Stars is the hardest Mario game on my switch
Good Video 😁💞
For anyone who didn't actually watch the video:
№10 _Super Mario Galaxy 2_
№9 _Super Mario Land_
№8 _Super Mario World_
№7 _Super Mario 64_
№6 _Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island_
№5 _Super Mario Bros. 3_
№4 _Super Mario Sunshine_
№3 _New Super Luigi U_
№2 _Super Mario Bros._ (yes, the ORIGINAL one from the 80s)
№1 _Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels_

Why does the narrator sound like he's recording his voice over with a phone outside on the street?
I finished the main story of sunshine maybe almost a year now and I miss the environment of the game. I don't miss the controls though. Part of what made it so difficult was its slippery control movement of Mario. It was just annoying.
New super Mario Bros DS is also very diffucult in my opinion
I think I speak for EVERYONE when I say that Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels is THE hardest Mario game. Makes Super Mario Galaxy 2 look like a cakewalk.
the famicom disk system, Super Mario 2 was the hardest of all Mario games.. (i did beat the Lost Level SNES version in the Super Mario All Star compilation but not the FDS version, I did tried but failed too many...)
That’s why I play my games on mute 😂
Hey Narrator YOU GOTTA TALK LOUDER
Barely show the hardest levels and the narrator you can barely hear it.
SMW is a cakewalk
The narrator has a very boring voice :v
4:05 "Expecially" ??? That right there tells me all I need to know about this reviewer.
Oh god no!

i have never played a single Mario game ever
Super Mario world wasn’t that hard. Just the secret levels in the star world.
I always found Mario 64 to be harder than the NEs games.
Mario Land was hard because it was on the GB? Mario 64 is also timeless! Still being played today. Was this list made by an AI?
Super Mario Land, however, is hard
Floaty jump or flutter as you put over Mario's "tight" controls? IMO Mario controls as tight as the O ring that crashed the Challenger
I just beat super Mario sunshine three months ago.
I got caught on a ghost hut in Mario 3 which I had on my Wii.
lets have the volume of commentary at level 1 but crank the volume up to 25 for the game sounds so no one knows what is being said AND we make the listeners go deaf
Ugh Mario Sunshine was the worst for me. I beat it quickly but was so frustrating even with the back jump.
Super Mario 64 really can be hard
Haven’t watched it yet. Thinking Sushine is up there because the camera is so bad in it.
Did you really just say that Mario 64 is more difficult than Super Mario World? And that Sunshine is harder than both SM World and SMB3? What are y'all smoking? None of the 3D Marios even hold a candle to any of the old 2D Mario games in terms of difficulty
Super mario world is piss easy lmao, hell galaxy 2 is harder than world honestly.
Super Mario Sunshine is the hardest 3D Mario game and super Mario maker is the hardest 2D Mario game
Not quite sure why Mario 64 is on here I don’t find it that hard, also I feel sunshine should be number 2 ESPECIALLY when you take getting all 120 shine sprites (fuck the blue coins)
mario strikers charged shouldve been on there
I always thought Super Mario Bros. was pronounced as Super Mario Brothers.
That's pretty much how it's pronounced. 🙃🙃🙃
Memories ❤
I feel like... Y'all just make random videos for content at this point. Most of these games aren't difficult at all lol
What’s up with the voice audio??
Audio was really bad guys. I got headphones in and old mate is quiet then the games are super loud.
Why dose everyone else say super Mario world is too easy
That is ugly about The 10 HARDEST Super Mario Games Collection
Terrible audio 😢
Mario 64 isn’t even hard. When I first got it, it only took me 3 months to 100% no guides.
Stamps?❤
I don’t know about hardest but Sunshine is definitely the worst
