Chef micheal is such a gem. Whether its his constructive criticism, apologetic behaviour to guests during team challenges, or not letting anyone get hard on themselves
I just realized that each one that was chosen by the chefs perfected the exact egg dish the chefs assigned to them..chef Michael brought kevin back and he made the best soft boiled.. Alvin brought cody and he cooked the best poached egg while claudio got andrew back who made the best omelette..
Bro Jon was really a wholesome guy. Giving people ingredients they were missing and actually playing the competition it was meant to be played by learning and improving himself. He's a real MVP
Yea! I got mad respect for her!! I thought she’s definitely done after that critical mistake, but she still pulled that off beautifully. And as Line said, this lady really doesn’t give up!
Man, even rewatching this, knowing that Jon is gonna have to go, seeing him eliminated still hurts every time. He's such a sweet and honest guy. This kind soul was taken way too soon, but it's comforting to know that he went on to follow his food dream after he left the show. I don't really do the whole god and angels thing but I kinda hope Jon's looking down from time to time. He's a true inspiration and an amazing role model.
I am truly amazed by how Cody surprises himself every time Cody while preparing the sea scallop- “I want nice hefty chunks of lobster that you can really sink your teeth into” 26:25 Cody while judging - “how could I have possibly let it happen” 34:29
You know one thing about masterchef canada is the fact that they have the best judges of all the worldwide series, they have such sweet judges that give encouragement and good advice, aswell as support when the contestants are freaking out.
I extremely dislike cody i'm not invalidating his skills but he's completely arrogant and narcissistic and hadn't toned it down at all throughout the season
Yeah, he has talent, skill and creativity. But his main problem is he loves showing-off A LOT, even more than he loves food. Sometimes it feels like he has no love or passion for food, only uses food to show off.
Rewatching this back, Cody is indeed stuck on his big ego. He knew David can cook yet he still saved him so that no one could outshined him on the challenge? Likeee that isn’t super strategic but oh well it’s Cody.
It's actually really smart if you think about it. If he has the skills to compete, he can put up the best dish, thus getting the first pick to make an incredible team and win the next team competition. Which would give him immunity. If you use your brain, you understand how this is tactical brilliance. BUT he has to have the skills to win. Either way, in both the short term as in the long term, it's better for him to put a strong competitor on the balcony here.
cody being cody. the fact that he chose to forfeit immunity to cook with the truffle... it would've been real funny if he went home on that dish, considering that it was one of the worst ones that day.
@@V-for-Vendetta01 THISSSS is what I’m talking about like! cody kept risking himself every time & I was rooting that he got sent home with that one dish he decided to cook while he was supposed to be safe up in the gallery :/ not sure what’s up in his head other than his big ol’ ego!
They need Cody back for the drama. I still stand by Andrew being the better cook. I'm pretty sure they already had an idea to bring him back in another season based on skill, not swag.
Kudos to Jennifer for being able to improvise after forgetting her eggs. Also, one of these days, I'd love to try and recreate the scallop mousse - it looks really good.
"Armchair David" lol. I swear Cody, how did he not pick himself (the judges didn't make clear he couldn't pick himself) or one of the other competitors who's a lesser threat?
I would absolutely fail on the soft boiled egg. I put the kettle on for tea then as I’m reading my book I forget I did and think “mmm maybe I should put the water on for some tea” 😂
Kevin could've chosen to first break an egg tha's perfect for his poached egg and then do the omelet after, so that when he broke the last egg he got he could;ve used it for the omelet. i was actually rooting for him and Andrew. I think they are also right to be intimidated with Andrew because he was good during the previous eps.
what I love about masterchef is that they're not only testing their cooking skills, but also leadership and management skills, that't important because running a restaurant is not only about cooking, it's a harsh business where most of them failed in the first couple weeks or months
I just don't understand why they Kevin didn't crack all the eggs first and select a good one for the poach...he could've put his broken one into the omelette and had a good one for the poach...
I don’t know much about Canadian TV show/entertainment laws. Can someone tell me what they’re censoring and why? Doesn’t seem like swearing since season 1 didn’t censor a good amount of it

Idk why Cody chose David. That is 3 or so times David has been saved. Assuming that I did not know anything, I would most definitely saved Jennifer or Sabrina. Sabrina because she never got to be in the gallery. Jennifer because her dishes barely get called up and she either barely or never been given the opportunity to head to the gallery
Every time I watch this I think "do the poached egg first" or at least reserve a good egg to do it with. That way if it breaks you add it to the scrambled omlet eggs.

Truly amazing. Once she hit upon the roux idea, I thought that it might turn out better than the original recipe. Minus eggs? Yepper!
And because some people are allergic to eggs, she made a no egg mousse (not my note but I wanted to point it out)
