Hi Lesli, Yes, I know exactly what you mean. Both these are physically big guns, so nice and comfortable if you have bigger hands. The ANI is definitely lighter and a bit of a bargain even with the price increases of late, cheers mate 👍
Im in the process of repainting my vw t4,my usual painting are vespas ets of the lx,i usually use a devilbiss sri,but due to the size of panels i bought the 4000b,i was also considering a hvlp fuji turbine unit to cut down on overspray but lots of money and im not sure if it would profuce a decent finish with car paints.
The Devilbiss Sri is relatively low spray over for a mini, so it's not surprising you find the 4000B quite a difference . Something like Anest Iwata W400 Bellaria may offer a compromise, it works well at 29psi but only uses around 7.5cfm, this means there's not loads of air floating around which helps with overspray, it's capable of good finishes and it a relatively fast gun. Certainly, all the full-size guns are going to show a significant increase in overspray compared to what you're used to
Love dealing with Spray Guns Direct. Their prices are good and they ship to the US. I really like the ANI 200 Black skull. The ANI Skull and the Devilbiss DV1-B & DV1-C might be the best guns on the market. Sata I always felt were good but not worth the price when those three other mentioned guns are slightly better I feel
Hi Buddy, Yeah, you get quite a good deal over in the US. You can buy from Sprayguns Direct without the UK tax, and you don't pay import duties if it's under 800 USD, so things are good value. I do like the Skull. It sprays really well and isn't particularly expensive . Cheers, mate 👍
Hi Bryan, I hope you're well mate, your certainly keeping busy 😀, yeah, there are some very good guns about in the mid price range, and this ANI is right up there, it looks good as well which is a bonus, take care buddy, cheers 👍
We have both of these guns at the shop. The Sata definitely has a little better build quality but the ANI has just as good of a finish(maybe a little better) than the Sata. If you are on a budget definitely ANI
Hi Jeremy, I would agree. Also, the fact that you can buy the full service kit for the ANI for very little money is a real plus, even though you may need to kit one before you would in a Sata, thanks mate 👍
I too feel the ANI 200 Skull has a little better finish than the Sata 5500, as well as both Devilbiss DV1 guns. Finer atomization. Wish I could get 1.2mm needle, tip, and clear cap for the ANI 200 Skull soley for High Solids Clear. To break up the volatiles and atomize it even finer than it already does
@user-un5my5bw4j They do make a 1.2 setup for the Skull guns. If they don't keep it, Sprayguns Direct can normally order one. It takes a while as they tag it to a stock order
Hi Pete, well that was a coincidence as I watched your unboxing of the Skull yesterday as I'm still interested in getting this gun but again it's been pushed back a bit as I just go the new sander🙄 As you said in the video you can't really tell the difference between the two guns as the finish is identical which makes you wonder if it's worth paying twice the price for the X5500🤔a good comparison though mate as the finish from both guns was superb but then it's the person behind the gun that makes the gun look good which begs the question of who was painting these panels🙃😝🤣 A few gun manufactures are bringing out these high atomisation tip sets and I was thinking it would be great if there was one for the Skull👌anyway a very interesting video Pete with lots of good info, cheers buddy👍
Hi John, this video is quite old, but having just got the new ANI Compact and trying that and the ANI R160 it got me thinking about the value these things are, hence voicing the video up and putting it out. Think I said I had my Skull out a little while ago. It had been cold, and the gauge did nothing, I wasn't bothered as I had my trusted Meiji gauge on from the start, but after 30 seconds or so it started and has been fine since, just cold I guess. Cheers mate 👍
Yeah it seems to me that these guns are good value, the Skull kit seems a bit more expensive but you get three guns in one so again it's good value, you mentioned in the video that the digital gauge didn't work for a few seconds but it soon came back to life so yeah I think it was just to cold for it🤔 Thanks Pete👍
Please how do you heat up the clear coat?? Do you heat up after you have added hardner and slow thinner? Or you just heat the clear coat alone? And what is the maximum temperature of the clear coat before you spray it? Because i know that if the material is over heat it will attract fast dry.
Hi Helen, I use a microwave, I'm sure it's not recommended, so I wouldn't advise it, but it's what I do. You will see me using it in some of my other videos. I heat it up after mixing, normally to around 35c or 95f . This takes around 10 seconds per 100ml .
For my contract I have to use the 5000 and 5500 at work, but at home I use the Skull, it's got a much bigger fan than the Satas from my experience and it's both got the Sata speed and the Iwata like spray pattern that the 5500 I pattern disappointed with
Hi Bryan, I think the ANI is often overlooked, but it really is very good. I'm not sure if I said in the video, but I was using the ANI R160 & Compact today, and it made me think about how well there gun's perform, hence digging this one out for tonight. Thanks for watching 👍
@ANDY-we7mr Hi Andrew, yeah, some will always choose the Sata, but the ANI is just as good and a bit of a bargain. It looks good as well, cheers mate 👍
No, not that it would be noticeable if there is any difference, what are you normally painting Steve, let me know and I will try and recommend something
I was wondering about excess overspray,i recently purchased a ntools 1.3 rp gun,i set it about 30psi but the amount of overspray is rediculous, its new to me so its possible me adjusting but bssecoat a clear are reallybad just wondered do you have any advuce the clear i use is upol 2081 anyway thanks very much and the videos are really good.
Hi Steve, you could try turning the pressure down a little, especially for Basecoat, where 24psi is mostly acceptable. Clear try 27psi. The overspray isn't excessive on the NTools 4000B. It is certainly not low but I wouldn't class it as high compared to most full-size standard pressure gravity guns,
Hello. Thank you very much for your useful videos. Can you make a video about SAGOLA 3300 PRO? I couldn't find any VIDEOS. there are only some videos from 10 years ago
I just got my ani 1.4clear cap/nozzle shipped from the Uk to the USA…….way cheaper and faster shipping then what these crooks charge here. They want almost $900 for the skull edition 🤣
Hi Luke, Sprayguns Direct are normally very competitive on pricing, and they export all over the world, lots of people including you tell me in the US its where they go for a lot of different manufacturers sprayguns not just ANI. I get excellent service from them, but obviously, I'm in the UK, so I guess you would expect that. It'll be interesting to know what you think of the 1.4 setup. Let us know when you'll have a chance to use it, cheers 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 the 1.4 with the clear cap 1/2 turn in on the trigger and a 3/4 turn in on the fan at 26 psi is a monster!!! Got a run to take care of out of the door handle. I probably shouldn’t have opened up the 2nd coat to full throttle on the second coat🤣🤣🤣🤣definitely can move fast!!!!
Hi Luke, It certainly doesn't hang about by the sounds of it, I need to get the 1.4 setup for my skull, hopefully Sprayguns Direct will carry more for the 200 series to give us more choice as I fancy trying the 1.2 as well, thanks for letting us know Lots of people read these commands, so it helps others get an idea of what it's like in the real world, cheers buddy 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 it’s right up there with the 4600 and Tekna prolite on speed I just need to do some fine tuning to dial it in. I’ll be ordering the 1.2 wb cap so I’ll have this gun fully loaded like I do with all my guns🤣🤣🤣
Hey Pete, another interesting video as always. Really enjoying going back over your old posts.
Lots of information and tips. Thanks
Hi Scott, Thanks, mate 👍
Once again another great video from my favourite channel. The only channel I watch every single video.
Thanks mate, your making me blush now ☺️ 😊 😁
Thank you for your advice, its something i will consider about the guns.
You're welcome mate 👍
