    Porphis really didn't lose in terms of finishing to date, and a better value for money.

    I tried both the PHS-155 and the PRD715, and they perform more or less the same. The main differences are that the PHS-155 has a cast body, while the PRD61x and PRD71x have forged bodies. Additionally, the PHS-155 costs less than half the price of a PRD715, making it a real bargain. They are both very good guns, and personally, I prefer them more for clear than for base.

      Hi Ben, the PHS155 is, as you say, very good and great value for money. Having said that, they all are, really.
      You are right about the bodies. The PRD and PC series are all forged and anodized, making them very durable and comparable to top manufacturers.
      I was making a video the other day, using the PHS155 in 1.3 against the Iwata Kiwami4 BA4J 1.3, this is now discontinued, and the PHS155 is every bit as good, if not better than the Kiwami4 BA4J, at just over 100 USD, it's a bargain. Cheers buddy 👌

      @@peteshobbies5383 Can't wait for the video PHS-155 vs Kiwami BA4j, mate! I was surprised how good the result was the first time I used the PHS-155

      @benjaminchu6699 I ordered one when they first came out, before the website was up and running and the lady said, they are not as well made as the PRD series so wasn't sure if I would like/want it, obviously I knew it was cheaper so something has to be compromised but I was very pleasantly surprised as its still well made and works really well.
      Some have messaged me saying they also make great primer guns in 1.8 , which I can believe as the PHS135 is much cheaper and also great for primer, cheers Ben 👍

      @refinishtechnology2529 Hi Mate, the only real difference is the tips. The base version has a defusing lip around it, so it's not as harsh as the clear coat gun. It could make the basecoat a little dry, but lowering the pressure should help balance it

    Another great video. I own the 715 and the 717, originally I was using the 717 for basecoat and the 715 for clear. However I found that I was having issues with coarse metallics with the 717 as I tend to spray and blend many panels at a time and I was just getting modelling especially in the hood. I enjoyed the 715 for clear as it really puts out the material, and the finish was pretty good in all honesty. But I switched the guns around out of curiosity about a month ago now I am spraying clear with the 717 and base with the 715 and I have had no issues with my metallics anymore and let me tell you with the clear that I use in my production shop, which is the Nason 497-00 and the PPG Global D894, the finish is just amazing. the Nason clear with perfectly match factory finish with no effort at all out of the 717, and the PPG clear will give you a near glass like finish for your higher end vehicles out of the 717. I could not be happier. I was using Devilbiss guns before, the Devilbiss plus for my metallics, the ProLite for my clear, I don't even touch them anymore honestly.

      Hi Mate, I remember you saying you were having problems, I remember it as of all the people that have contacted me, you'res was the only one having problems with the finish.
      I do find it strange that the PRD717 had trouble with the metallic base coats. If I remember rightly, you are using a water-based base coat, something I only have limited experience, only having used 2 makes so couldn't really throw much light on the problem.
      Sounds like the switch worked well which is good to hear, not sure if you heard in the video, but a friend of mine has bought a PRD715 and is completely smitten with how well it performs for base coats, so much so, his base coat DV1 B+ is on the reserves bench
      Thanks, buddy, much appreciated 👍

    • @ToysForTheGods
      @ToysForTheGods 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jbcarrico7877 well as a shop that guarantees our work, the 497 clear has not had any returns for say peeling or fade in well over a decade for me. It dries super fast so you need to put your coats pretty much wet on wet or they will orange peel a bit. However it isn't hard to find the sweet spot with the clear. It gets really darn hard btw, so if you are planning to sand and polish the vehicle unless it is say a motorcycle you may want to try a softer clear like AUTOBAHN products, like their glamour clear line. But all in all the 497 is a super reliable product and you can be confident that if you did your job well in the prep work, that you will never have any issues out of the finish.

    Hi Pete, very enjoyable video mate both guns really hammered the clear down and it looks like the Sata has met it's match here to me the 625 is just as fast as the 5000 plus the finish you got here from both guns is pretty much the same which makes me wonder why we buy these expensive guns when the Porphis guns are just as good🙄👌
    I have been doing some experimenting with the fan size on my 717 and IMO just turning it down a little to take the edge of it I don't get each end of the fan going over the wings making more overspray which is wasting clear plus I don't see any difference in the finish, I know you said in your video that you wouldn't do this but I wanted to try it to see what would happen😬 it's early days doing this atm so time will tell🤔
    Thanks mate👍

      @peteshobbies5383  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi John, You know the PRD625 is fast, so it makes sense to put it against the Sata 5000 RP, which is super fast.
      As you can see, the Porphis wasn't scared of the Sata. It's just as good, and I'm getting pretty confident it will last as long, so yes, it makes you wonder why we do pay nearly $1000 USD for these things.
      I will get the new Sata when it's out, only because of interest really, if I was just a normal guy, I would just buy a few Porphis guns and get on with it as they are as good as any IMO.
      As far as the fan settings are concerned, if it works for you, then that's all that matters, I made the comment really as people often ask me why you need a mini gun as you can make the fan smaller on any big gun, that's where you really do lose some performance, and the reason there are so many tip sizes in smaller guns, cheers mate 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02

      Sorry for the late reply mate I don't always get notifications when new comments are up plus someone keeps sending me loads of guns to try so I'll be doing a nightshift in the booth today😪😴😂yeah the 625 is a beast and it made mincemeat of the old Sata👊😂
      Like you I want to get the new sata when it comes out but unlike you if I do it will have to be the full digital with the top of the range digital gauge on it, oh just had a thought I've got 4 guns laying around here so I could sell them then put the cash towards the Sata🤔😁
      It's probably me but I find the pattern on the 717 is a bit wetter and more controllable if it's wound in a fraction, not my much but just enough to tidy the edges up a bit👌
      My next panel will be done will all Porphis guns which should be interesting, wish me luck🤞🤞😬cheers mate👍

      @peteshobbies5383  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Mate, The digital version of the XJet is only 100 GBP more than the standard, so I may well get that one, not that it makes any difference to the performance and normally its a pain, but, I think it's probably the main point of the gun as I can't see it being any better than the X5500, we will see.
      Porphis has a new gun out, the PX6, looks good and love the colour 😁cheers mate 👌

    Pete, when spraying a motorcycle tank, which of the 2 guns will spray clear the flattest: a dv1s or a full size gun with a split nozzle.
    I have a dv1s which rules on bike stuff but never owned a split nozzle spraygun so i'm curious.

      Hi Harold, The full-size gun with a split tip would still be much faster than a DV1S.
      When we talk about slow, it really is relative, so in the case of a PRD717 or WS400 type guns, they are slow compared to a PRD715 or W400 Bellaria, they are all faster than all the minis, thanks mate 👍

    Porphis spray gun is made by international Zheilang Porphis weapons experts. PRD 717 is designed to clear slow motion but smooth as sata 5000 slow motion. prd 715 fast all-purpose weapon. same sata x5500 movement fast in my opinion. all weapons are great. that depends on how to use this weapon. But the sata 5000 weapon is the greatest weapon I have ever used. 250 cars I sprayed were not polished but the result was like it was polished. the most important technique should know.
