I sold all of these models in one day at the flea market over the summer. I think the only one I still have is the yellow Impala because it got left behind. 👍😊

Very cool stuff! I love the glue bombs that are painted and built crappy and falling apart, they just have a lot of character. I used to build models and go to shows with my stuff. Won a lot of plaques. I now customize Hot Wheels cars but I do have the AMT Surf Shark '59 Cadillac ambulance, AMT '64 Ford Galaxie and an older Monogram '57 Chevy that I still need to build this winter. Last winter I built the AMT '59 Imperial and I built it to look like a kid built it back in the '60's. I would have loved to buy some of these if I were able to. Nice video, thanks for sharing!

damn I'm jelly. I've been slowly collecting old broken model kits and airbrushing them over the last few years to look dirty and rusty for an actual model junkyard diorama I plan on building
That's a skill i hope to develop. I have a '64 Impala kit I want to build up as a Cheech & Chong car. Gotta be able to get the primer pattern right. :-)

Fantastic collection. Sounds like thay brought back a lot of good memories for you. Being in Australia we did not have about 98% of those actual on the road cars out here. Mustangs, Transams, Comaros and a lot more muscle cars. As to models I remember my cousins having a lot of them. Have fun matching the parts.
Cool cars you got there! But Before you restore them or sell them. You should line them up like an old junk yard like you did in you preview and take pictures. It looked realistic. You can sell the pictures put them on shirts or even movies might want them. Just a thought I have.
Most of the burn marks were probably caused by super glue I have seen it first hand ! Certain types of plastic are vary brittle and super glue melts that type of plastic. Most model companies used brittle plastic but a few used flexible plastic which didn't react with super glue .
I've never seen an 80's Suburban kit that was mass produced. There's one on eBay right now but it's a built resin and the guy wants over $200 for it. 👍😊

But my racing setup is a compound boosted (blower and twin turbos) 79 coupe deville and my compound boosted 85 C30 compound (twin gt3582's and twin gt45s yes 4 turbos) suburban tow rig which I'm building right now. Have to have a 1/25th set as well.

I had that big foot model kit had a little monkey 50cc bike in the bed in the original kit it was in 1982 big foot was in every ones hearts orange blossom pulling truck I love buying built models kits in bags at shows for customs you got a goldmine

I've never seen a Mustang Nomad, but if it looks anything like a standard Mustang you should be able to find one listed for parts or restoration on eBay and take the hood. It just needs to be the same scale and it should at least be close enough to work with. Good luck!! 😊👍

They were in an abandoned storage unit that sold at auction. I bought them by the box as the buyer was loading the contents of the unit into his truck.
I don't mean to ask a dumb question but are you going to restore all of those model cars? With all that dust collected what did you use to wipe them down with?
I cleaned up a few of them with mild soap and water and a soft bristle brush. I would up selling them all except the yellow Impala, so I didn't get a chance to clean all of them.

This is pretty typical of old models. They sit on a shelf for decades and then they're thrown in a box without protection and hauled away. That's if they're not thrown in the trash by someone that doesn't know what they're worth. 😊👍

The value of a conversation like this to the algorithm far exceeds the value of showing the world that I know the difference between a 65 and 66 Galaxie. By the way, my first car was a Galaxie 500, and not only do I know the differences between the years, but I know the difference between the Custom 500, the Galaxie 500, and the LTD for most years. In fact, I'm pretty sure there used to be a "Custom" and a "Galaxie" without to 500 but I was never sure if the 500 was just removed. Maybe that's where you can educate me.

I found a '65 mustang nomad - complete except for the hood. Where might I find one?

This is pretty typical of old models. They sit on a shelf for decades and then they're thrown in a box without protection and hauled away. That's if they're not thrown in the trash by someone that doesn't know what they're worth. 😊👍

By the way, my first car was a Galaxie 500, and not only do I know the differences between the years, but I know the difference between the Custom 500, the Galaxie 500, and the LTD for most years. In fact, I'm pretty sure there used to be a "Custom" and a "Galaxie" without to 500 but I was never sure if the 500 was just removed. Maybe that's where you can educate me.
