@PredictedCarrot I have a single car garage and a humble classic car sits inside it. That's good enough for me. But if the owner of this amazing collection wants to give me that Mk1 GTI, I won't say no 😉
@@OttawaInHD It can crack a rim but I've only seen it on cambered cars. Deflated tires wont mess up the suspension as much as just sitting in general and rotting would.
A lot of the 'lifts' you see here are actually just car holders with no mechanism. The vehicles would have to be lifted up using a mechanism of some sort and then locked in place using pins. My point is that these cars were put in here with very little intention of coming out any time soon. Hundreds of millions of dollars just sitting gathering dust for decades. Such a waste.
A round of applause to this collector for sharing his dream with us. This collection is like something out of "National Treasure".LOL Haven't seen something like this since around the year 2000 when i bought a 1981 BMW 733I from the Owner of Hunting Ridge Motors in Westchester, NY. The lady is too kind to the owner. He's never getting back racing any of those cars. None of them have moved in how many years? All need major reconditioning before starting
Yeah. All new seals, hoses, belts, breaks and break lines, fuel lines, and most of the fuel system. I’m betting there is a good bit of rotted and cracked electrical.
Idk Im gonna try to give the owner the benefit of the doubt and not call him a sick hoarder. Maybe he was a car dealer who went out of business when the market went bad.
This is by far the most polarizing thing I have seen. I love it for the “collection”, so many precious cars. My passion for cars is exploding. Really want to dive in to the history of every car! But I hate that they’ve been stacked away for so many years. In a - I must say - bad way. Thankfully it looks like rust is not a problem in this area. Seems like there was a running shop that closed suddenly. I would like to reopen it an employ a bunch of mechanics to get the cars up to speed again.

Matt Smith here’s the story for the documentary...Guy had so much money and no time, bought every car he could get his hands on, stashed them in warehouse to rot.
@@jgott1745 I think it's a little more in depth than that, the gentleman started when he was 18 in the 70s. That's 50 YEARS of stories & collecting and if you listened, she said that he bought alot of those cars to DRIVE, RACE, and HAVE FUN in them. So they obviously did not rot, because they are all in impeccable condition and have been maintained. Listen & learn before you make an uneducated, prickish remark. 👌👍
Matt Smith well sir, I listened plenty. Those cars are not all in impeccable condition. They’re sitting in dry, climate controlled buildings yes. But they haven’t been ran on a regular basis, so they’ll all need a decent amount of work. They all need washed, and to have paint correction work done. If they’ve been there for more than 5-8 years the tires are all rotten and not road worthy. My comment was mostly a joke, but apparently you lost your sense of humor, or never had one. There is some beautiful cars in his Hoard. But what’s the point in buying seemingly hundreds of vehicles and then locking them away in the dark for no one to enjoy??
The owner obviously likes cars and then bought and equips a warehouse ready to store those cars, but then shows a weird disregard towards the cars at same time... it's very strange IMO
I can't really understand the logic. He rescued that charger from a barn find so it would be save. But after years. It just ended up in another barn. Poor Charger
@@tukamote6185 The barn find is finding these cars which were hoarded. Just like the Baillon collection of cars found in France recently with lots of cars (including a real Ferrari 250 GT California) was hoarded first, then became a "barn find" once it was found that in a barn was a 250 GT California, stored there by a serial hoarder.
Reminds me of a place in CT called Toadhill or something. The guy had a crazy collection of red cars sitting in layers of dust and cat paw prints since he let his numerous cats in there. A lot of the interiors were moldy, it was sad. But hey, if you want to hoard special cars just to say you have them while they rot, more power to you.

The Tires are flat on most of these cars. I'm guessing the fluids have never been changed and the lines are full of crud for the brake lines and clutch lines and all of the rubber has dry-rotted around the cars. Whoever owned this "Collection" was doing nothing more than hoarding the cars and had no intention of keeping any sort of museum upkeep in mind.
Guy has a Ferrari 288 GT0 tucked in the back like it’s not a 1 of 230 rare historic icon. This is sad bc he will never be able to drive and maintain half of the jewels. Hope these find good homes to be resurrected and loved. Hoarding is a sickness IMO
Even in major disrepair he'll probably triple his original investment on most of these cars. The cost of upkeep vs deferred maintenance surely has been calculated here.
I think I heard “he used to race this one, and will soon again” like four times. I’m not sure what their definition of soon is when the car is buried in the back.

I'm more surprised they haven't snapped after 20 or 30yrs plus of holding cars.
I wonder if all of them are still functioning though, I’d image a lot of them don’t get very much use.

And in this other building, is all the missing toilet paper.
Haha hoarding is wrong!
Only used one roll one time 7 million rolls left untouched
and hand sanitizer and masks.
The owner obviously likes cars and then bought and equips a warehouse ready to store those cars, but then shows a weird disregard towards the cars at same time... it's very strange IMO
Something probably happened to the poor dude to lose interest (i.e. broken marriage, family death, etc)

He probably did this as an investment to sell all of them for big money. Very smart man, although most of them will need a rebuild to even start up.
This is absolutely insane! These should be loved and driven.
I can't really understand the logic. He rescued that charger from a barn find so it would be save. But after years. It just ended up in another barn. Poor Charger
A barn find is when you find the car of your dreams and then you buy it you care for it and enjoy it by driving the thing this is just car hoarding
Its a collection man... It went from a barn where no one could enjoy it to a place where the owner could enjoy it and now everyone. If it stayed in that first barn no one would ever see it.

The Tires are flat on most of these cars. I'm guessing the fluids have never been changed and the lines are full of crud for the brake lines and clutch lines and all of the rubber has dry-rotted around the cars.
