      So a fuse works via current and time... At the point you are flowing enough current to blow the fuse bad things are already happening. It would take a reverse polarity diode diode circuit to prevent damage.. Not real sure why this is not there but typically it is not... So don't reverse polarity.

    • @ateam6486

  • @Godspeed931
    @Godspeed931 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I agree that fuel additives shouldn't be used on new cars. Complete waste of money. On used cars, including direct injection, we've seen some good results using over-the-counter fuel system treatments like Chevron's Techron complete fuel treatment.
    The prevailing theory is that these cleaners temporarily raise combustion temps and recirculate via the EGR to gently remove deposits the same way they're formed. After a couple treatments, we've seen (via boroscope) that intake valve and EGR deposits get reduced to a gummy residue. And they subsequently get removed with increased highway miles via a lean burn. Any associated codes (P0401 EGR or P0300 misfire) usually diminish as well.
    It won't replace the eventual need to remove the IM or EGR to clean. But it can help manage deposits between cleanings - especially as the motor ages with increased blowby. I suspect that's why the "changing mind" and "new car" stipulations were added after filming. Great video as always!

    I love your video's. Please keep them coming. By me following your advise, I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX that has 437,876 miles on her and she runs better than a new one, Thanks !!
