Nobody uses the dome lol. Restricts airflow quite a bit. You can youtube it and see a guy making laser temperature readings and it gets much hotter with it on.
I don't know how you can't get your gimbal dome on and off with this guard in place. I just installed mine and my dome guard is easy on off without scratching or rubbing.
You can also just screw the red "horns" from underneath the carbon plate. Then everything fits and the dome is easily attached and removed. No problem there... 🤷♂️
I also received this product, after doing the same install I found if you reverse the aluminum pieces reversed and on the bottom you can remove the dome cover. Check it out mine works great
I would take and cut the carbon fiber plate just behind the screws/aluminum arms so that just the two forward red finger arms are left to protect the gimbal. I've heard that the plate screws with the sensors and has caused several people to lose their Mavic
When installing these guards, it is essential to calibrate the sensors. Implementing pre-flight sensor calibration procedures can substantially enhance drone operations by reducing the risk of altitude misinterpretation and subsequent crashes. By calibrating sensors before flight, the drone's altitude detection accuracy improves, significantly reducing the likelihood of confusion and potential accidents.
twinturbogodzilla yes I've tried to reverse the side that the metal arms go on. The problem is they won't fit correctly due to those red washers in the front and you're supposed to use those red washers so you don't damage the CF plate when you tighten down the screws.
twinturbogodzilla's point is right. the same gear works on my Mavic. You did mount them both on the wrong side of the plate. It will work after you shift them. Give it a try!
Mikangelo80 I tried it the other day and it was the scariest moment of my life with the mavic. My mavic took off fine. Then it started acting strange and would not land manually or with RTH. When I finally got it low enough it thought it was 2 ft off the ground when it was actually six feet in the air (barely within Arm's Reach)! I had to grab it and perform an emergency shut-off.. I immediately went home took it off and it's been flying perfect ever since! I sent it out this morning back To Amazon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! IT IS THE MOST HORRIBLE ACCESSORY FOR DRONE EVER MADE! Honestly it was a great idea but this particular design was horrible!
This product blocks the down ward sensors. It caused my drone to crash today from 1.5m it litterally slammed into the ground as it thought ot was closer to the ground due to interfereance from the plate. Gimbal now malfunctioning. Do not buy this product.
I try this and i don't need 5 minutes to say it don't work with the dome. I saw it in 30". The problem is that the mavic don't land anymore with this carbon thing on. I use once and take it off maybe for veer. Terrible thing. This video is useful becauise it dont tell the real problem of this carbon protection.
First crash ever after putting this piece of junk on. My Mavic slammed to the ground while trying to land (I was hovering approx 4-5 feet above ground just before landing) $107.00 to repair the gimbal cable. It looks cool and useful but, it will be a costly repair or even a lost Mavic. I've only been flying for just over a year, I have my Part 107 and I fly with caution and responsibility. The repair guy at DJI Costa Mesa says people have been crashing the same way.......

Watch my last video on this accessorie.
Dude you installed your guards up side down mount them on the bottom not the top. Then everything works.
Before any review takes place, please rectify the guard assembly as it has been done incorrectly.

Have you tried putting the red aluminum arms on the other side of the cf plate?

You can flip the gimble protectors round then you can still take the dome on and off that's what I did with mine
Have you tried flying your drone with it? I heard it could create an interference signal and end up losing control of the drone.
