Cool vid. I had a dealer try to tell me their $495 prep fee was justified since the whole front end comes disassembled. Needless to say, I walked.
On some bikes (motocross, shadow cruisers) the front end is torn down in the crate. Not this model. However, the bikes do not ship themselves: the "freight" part is legitimate. Honda, as well as most mfgrs charge freight. It's even on their websites. It costs $1000 for us to receive a Pioneer (SXS700) or Talon.
I was very close to buying a 1100. Walked out from 800 in fees which increased the tax as well. Bought a used 16' Indian Scout for the time being. They can miss me with that bullshit and iron out the first year kinks.

It was a spontaneous deal. He got so excited for the bike, he decided to wing it before the customer took delivery. There was no "tomorrow". It was a hot sell. But rest assured, he has been thoroughly reprimanded.
@@RideQuick I was of course kidding. I've often done the same, and when not exceeding bicycle speeds I think shorts for a quick test ride are fine.

Where is the clutch lever
There is no "clutch" lever because it is an automatic. DCT = Dual Clutch Transmission.

I ride a Rebel 500 in a tropical country and I wear shorts, t-shirt, and a skull cap helmet every day around the city. I obey the speed limit and drive it like a scooter. Just a little faster than a bicycle. Could you imagine someone on a 50cc scooter wearing full leathers? Especially, in weather over 100F. If I'm going on the highway I'll wear gloves, jeans, boots, and a full face helmet. It gets a little tiring hearing people say you should always gear up when riding. It all depends on the circumstances. Keep preaching this and it won't be long before the power hungry politicians and lawmakers catch wind and make full safety gear mandatory. Stop egging them on.
Safety is a personal preference..., for now. Unfortunately, the asphalt or bumper of the car that ran the intersection won't care you're only going scooter speeds. You lose lose skin at speeds under 10mph. Our service manager, Quincy wears his Alpinestars leather jacket year 'round. His moto: "I'd rather sweat, than bleed!"
@@RideQuick Well, lets hope the people that get triggered over motorcycle safety gear don't ruin it for everybody. The day I'm forced to dress up like a snowmobiler before I cruise down to the beach, is the day I trade my motorcycle for a roadster.
You’re crazy 😂 “power hungry politicians”…that’s why states like PA, FL and a few more have no helmet laws and have had those laws for years because they truly give a damn about your safety…SURRREEEEEE . Wearing Safety gear is a choice. Some people wear them and some don’t. Let those who don’t suffer the consequences. No need to freak out
@@ssminowjohnson9687 I can cherry pick, too. What about the Nanny states? 22 states have bicycle helmet laws. I got a ticket for jay walking 8 years ago and was forced to make a court appearance and pay a $250 fine. My sister was detained for 3 hours in the airport 2 years ago because she forgot to pay her dog license fee. Some places are really messed up.
I ride a 110cc scooter with head to toe protection in up to 40C heat because I want my kids to have the best shot of having a complete dad when I choose 2 wheels.

It's too bad there doesn't appear to be one piece of chrome on it anywhere. Just all backed out. When is this stupid fad ever going to get old (it has for me the first time I saw it) There is no character to the bike at all. It looks like they built it and went after it with a can of black spray paint, like some kid who just finished his back yard bobber. Sad Honda.

@@RideQuick About 20 years. The Honda Rebel is downright butt ugly. Everything about the bike from the tank to the engine, chassis and the exhaust are all incredibly ugly. It's as if they were trying to design an ugly bike on purpose.
