A very nice and informative review. You were absolutely correct about the emotional aspect of certain motorcycles. I am currently torn between purchasing the heritage and sound of an Indian Bobber or the technology and reliability of the Rebel 1100. This is a tough decision.

Same same. I got the Honda I think it is a great ride the engine and tech did it for me.

@@wave6413 I am leaning towards the Honda direction. The standard features, LED lights, smoked turning indicators, ABS, and instrumentation cost so much more or not even available as accessories on the Indian Scout. The Scout doesn't even have a fuel gauge. In my area, Indian is charging a $600 "logistics" fee in addition to freight, and dealer prep. I am not sure my emotion for the Indian is worth as much as they want.

It's an interesting bike. I went and sat on one at the dealer the other day. I'm not normally into cruisers, as they typically have that feet-forward riding position. The Rebel's controls are much more comfortably positioned for me, but I still like to have my feet directly under me to help absorb bumps.

    • @Autism-Forums
      @Autism-Forums 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yeah it definitely gets you with controls not being under… I love my rebel it’s pretty quick I just need to find the right seat and I should be good

done as a review should be done. i got my dct 2 months ago and love 90% of it. need to replace the seat and bring the bars back a bit, and already put a screen on it. been riding a pcx for almost 3 years, my intro to the two-wheeled world, so the dct seemed a natural progression, and with cruise it is pretty much how i would have made it.
it does sound and look different from the other cruiser style bikes, and our opinions might be tainted due to familiarity. my nephew's kids were more than impressed with the looks. uncle is cool again .. for a while!

My friend just got her motorcycle endorsement and this is her very first bike, according to her it is super easy to ride, it's very confidence inspiring and she can flat-foot it which is a must for her. she absolutely loves it and going with the 1100, it's a great bike to grow into, now I just have to figure out how to convince her to let me go for a ride on it! Ha! 😁

Hi. You had a very nice review of this Honda Rebel 1100. I do have a left leg injury, which has left me with less bend than needed sometimes.
I now have a Honda VTX 1800r. I want a bike which is light, and still perky. The Rebel 1100 looks as if it just may fit the bill for me.
The emotional part for me is having a bike that starts and runs perfectly for 20 years in a row. That's what Honda's have always given to me!

I've had standard (V-Strom1000 with mid pegs) and cruiser/tour (V-Star 1300 with floor boards). Mid pegs like on the 1100 easily allow standing over hard bumps that might bottom the rear suspension.

Too much vibration . I am planning to buy rebel 1100 .what will you guys recommend i want to use this bike for touring .i want to install saddle bags on it and travel Australian states.the reason to buy rebel 1100 is my height issue ,my height is 5'3".

You'll get Honda reliability with this, but the HD / Indian twin mantra for expression in Motoring on a cycle dies hard with the V Twin look and mentality. Make no mistake, it's a quick bike for it's size. It's in it's own class, with new technology and DCT, and riding modes, and LED headlights. No one I know has tested the lighting while riding at night or if it's adequate. It's just a very torquey twin, just not a V Twin. The exhaust sound could easily be fixed with twin exhaust pipes and separate mufflers for each pipe. That would give it the Thump sound, instead of that two into one collector on the exhaust. Got to meet the emission requirements.

Inside the frame it looks like maybe there is an air compressor in there or something. Maybe if you look in the back of your refrigerator it would look like that.

It's a cool bike & I was really excited about it until I learned that it is restricted to a max speed of 100 mph. I probably wouldn't ever go over 100 mph but, I refuse to have that decision made FOR me. I'm sure this motor is capable of 120 or 130 so why would Honda think it was a good idea to castrate it? I will buy something else on principle.

The thing with a Honda is they are very reliable and general maintenance should be less expensive over time then other makes . Also I don’t this for a fact but I’m guessing it cost less for insurance.

I like the mid-set riding position, however, you are right about the emotions evoked, for some reason the Harley’s, Indian and Triumph provides a more evocative soundtrack. I test rode a speedmaster before buying the Tiger and the forward pegs were new to me so in reality I would choose mid-set all the time.
I have not managed to get into Austria this time and will be returning to the UK next weekend for a few weeks, so hopefully when I return. Not sure if the borders are all open yet.
