    Hi Brian. Thank you for this tip for cleaning the windshield, especially the inside. I use the AC all the time in Florida and the windshield gets pretty gunky. Your tip with the Magic Eraser did the trick and it sparkles again. Discovered your channel about a month ago and really appreciate the time and professionalism you put into it. Content creation can't be easy and you do it was skill, style and class. Keep up the good work.

    There was an oily film on the inside of one of ours cars, which we struggled to get clean. Tried the magic eraser, along with windex...Voila! The windscreen was like new again! Brilliant!!! Thanks heaps for this amazing tip! Cheers 👍🏻😊

    You warned against using the Magic Erasure on tinted windows. I have factory tinted windows in my Subaru. Would they be tinted on the inside? If so then it would be OK to use the ME on the outside. Or vice versa.

      Hello Matthew!!! I rarely have a back window that needs the magic eraser...but I can imagine a heavy smoker layering a lot of tar back there. Sure, you can use it back there in rare instances...just not every cleaning. But most importantly....keep it away from aftermarket tint. Hope that helps...cheers!!!

      oh just use fresh lemon, cut in half, rub on glass, or better squezze lemon juice into small cup, use brush and apply to glass, cover whole glass, let it sit for 1 minute, wipe it off, then use glass cleaner. Its a chemistry stuff water deposit (calcium based) vs lemon juice (acid), will work believe me

      Chandra..... when I started doing this... I killed plenty of batteries. If its an extensive interior detail... I hook up my charger or unhook the battery or even block the switch. Keeping the doors open can drain a battery quickly!

    I just went on a 300 mile road trip with my jeep. I think I hit about a quarter of the bugs in the U.P. of Michigan. Several large hits from June bugs and no-see-um swarms. I got home and left my jeep in the driveway all day yesterday and haven't cleaned the guts off my windshield yet. Do you think a magic eraser will clean it? I mean it's crazy, like frat boys with paintball guns...

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As you raise the temperature of water.. you raise its acidity.. which helps clean surfaces a bit better. I had an existing sealant that I did not want to completely remove. So I chose not to heat the water. It definitely an option. Hope that helps

  • @tropicaldaze23
    @tropicaldaze23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Thank you! I’m going to give this a try. In my case, it isn’t smoking that is the problem (I don’t smoke)....the problem is that the detail place I took my car to must have accidentally got something you clean the dash with on the windshield. I”ve tried several different cleaning products (Windex, vinegar and newspaper, and a fabulous window cleaner that usually works but didn’t this time) and nothing is working...it just keeps smearing whatever the substance is all over the inside of the window. I think it might be something on the order of Armor All? So, I’m hoping this works...if it does, I’ll come back and let you know!

    Is magic eraser safe on glass? It’s not abrasive?

    • @sbrader97
      @sbrader97 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It works perfectly fine on glass it's not that abrrasive it's like a super fine sandpaper glass takes a lot to scratch even 0000 grade steel wool is good for polishing windows but must be 0000 grade however don't use magic eraser on paint or interior plastic etc as u can cause damage if you go to hard on it. It's not safe on aftermarket tinted windows only do it on regular windows/factory tint is fine as long as it's not got a tint film it can damage

  • @TedBackus
    @TedBackus 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    dont do this more than a few times, Magic Erasers are essentially fine grit sandpaper, and are abrasive, might work great to remove film, or grime, but it is also micro scratching your glass too.
