I was a single mom and made a game out of grocery shopping with my son at an early age with coupons. As he got older he was like mom the generics are cheaper even without a coupon quit being brand loyal lol 😂 I created a monster but that child (now 26) could find deals for anything! He ended up being a numbers guy. His wife couldn't believe how he used coupons and found deals, bought his own car parts and learned how to fix things. He's a smart guy❤

I did the same with my son, but alas he wants in and out quickly. He smokes, 🤦‍♀️🤯, and could save $3-6 a pack which is $42 a week, thousands a year but doesn’t want “the hassle.” Though what you make is important, what you keep is more important.

@@kenyonbissett3512 understand that, I no longer shop with him lol because he wants to be in/out now. However, since I work ft and my mom's caregiver I do most of my shopping order and pick up. I rarely get time to myself look anymore.

@@AWordofHope you probably already know this but check for respite care in your area. My sister worked full time and was caretaker for our father. We knew a nursing home would be a fast death sentence, which unfortunately proved true when his Alzheimer’s turned aggressive and violent. He got skin tears easily and caused sepsis which caused his death. My sister feels she lost who she was because of the years of caretaking, please find a way to keep you, you.

Ive binged 86 of your videos to get to know you and your content. I am a self proclaimed "Frugalista" and I think you do a great job of budgeting. I also think you should allow yourself $5 - $10 a week to enjoy an unexpected and much deserved treat, whether its a hair cut, a cup of coffee that costs too much but is delicious, a fast food meal that is horribly unhealthy, a movie out with a friend with a coupon code or simply a can of soda that you havent enjoyed in years. I think you deserve it and its just part of normal life.

I would agree. I’ve been a super saver for 35+ yrs. I have the cost of a movie theatre down to $3 from $10.50. Some movies deserve the big screen, most don’t. Eating at my favorite restaurant is 40-70% off, my favorite ice cream place 50%-75% off.

I don’t often use my PC Points at the grocery store. I save them to use at Shoppers Drug Mart when they have their extra points day. So I was able to buy my two teenagers cologne using $200 for $300 worth of product. I just had to pay the taxes. There were a few more items to get the bill to $300 but I basically got an extra $100 over the 200000 points I had already saved. Last year I bought a Canon camera with my points on a similar day. This might be helpful for any Canadians.

You are like my female doppelganger in character. Literally the same way I live my life!! Your mom's lessons stuck well, your life looks like its awesome and is likely going to get even better. I can't wait to see your bright future, keep posting great vids(:.
Personally I'm working on my masters degree paid for by myself, no loans, a result of; oatmeal/PB sandwich/crockpot on the daily (I really am a good cook but those are my dailies), riding bike for transport (everything's within 10miles of a train station here), and hobbies/ activities that are largely self sustaining like 3d printing, mountain biking, and gardening. I'm trying to buy a house but this market is craycray here in CA.
There are literally 0% of people where I live that live/think this way, soo nice to see a person who is genuine and rational. Only a truly secure individual can live like this in our materially driven society and start actually building their futures security, thanks Nicole for starting this channel/community.

Living in the UK in the northwest I tend to spend on average £967pm or £241pw. £767 of that being mortgage and utilities and fuel etc, the remainder being gym and entertainment. This obviously can change but being an introverted minimalist has its benefits on your savings.
It would be interesting to see a video on what vegan meals you like to eat during the week and maybe how you like to save money on your shopping other than making meals at home.

I think you are doing a phenomenal job. Especially at your age. I am very impressed. You live decently. You dont need much. It takes alot of discipline to be frugal. Keep up the awesome work. You will never have to worry God willing about your future. I am very frugal as well. My daughter is a ethical vegan. She loves to spend money. She is 25 home with me. I cook all her vegan meals. But her sweets, and some of the vegan processed food are extremely expensive in the states. It took many years to develop this type of disciplined habit. At your age I was so impulsive. Did not think for the future at all. Finally marrying her dad. He had showed me how to save $5.00 at a time. I never thought I could do it. He was from India. A poor family . The rest is history, dont change yourself for anyone.

This is a really interesting video many people have no idea how much they spend and wonder where there money as gone. I try and live on £400 a month, my utilities cost £200 and £200 for foods and petrol + odds and ends. I draw cash out for my daily spending as I see it disappear so are more conscious. I have no rent or mortgage to pay as I have bought my house. in the UK a big proportion of people's spending goes on rent or mortgage.

Something to factor in the cost of selling is the mileage/km's driven to PU/ Meet up. The cost of operation of the vehicle is more than the fuel cost. Insurance, maintainence, depreciation, tires, etc. A base should be $1.50 per mile. I am sure your actual operating cost is known to you as a self-employed individual. I am adding my two cents for folks who may have overlooked the transportation costs of flipping. Thanks for sharing. Good health, prosperity, and long life to you and yours.

Yes everything is relative to the area you live in. I think when I'm typing this that you've reached 30 years old. You might want to check with your insurance agent and see if you qualify for any additional discounts. I live in the US so I'm not familiar with Canadian insurance rates but your car insurance seems high. In the US some insurance companies have bundle discounts that you can get if you have the car and the house with the same company. Also in the US there's good driver discounts, low mileage discounts (usually 7500 miles per year or less) and some discounts for people who are 30 or older. I don't think all companies have these but some do.

    • @AccordingtoNicole
      @AccordingtoNicole  ปีที่แล้ว +6

I am vegan for the animals, not my health. Though I do believe it is the healthiest way to live.
However feeding a dog vegan is a form of cruelty in and of itself, and if he’s going to eat animals there is no ethical difference between a raw diet and a meat based kibble.
He thrives on his raw food so I do what I have to to keep him as healthy as possible.
