I loved golf story but I could never finish it because of a glitch involving melting different frozen golfers with flaming golfballs. The game thinks someones is still frozen in ice but EVERYONE is thawed out.
I feel like the Switch has become the new steam oasis for making anything physical because it will sell for that system but we recently went to Save and Busters and after playing the Cruisin Blast arcade, I went back and started playing that game on my switch this week and forgot how much fun it was.
Golf Story reminds me of a game I played when I was kid, World Court Tennis on the Turbographx 16. My mom got me a tg16 for christmas one year and it came with like 12 games, me and my buddy were looking for a 2 player game so we popped it in. There was a mode called quest and shows a guy kneeling in front of a king. Basically it plays like Zelda 2 but you play tennis instead of fighting stuff and the end guy is called the devil. Obviously Golf Story is way more of a game than that was but I remember we played the ever living hell out of that game. And I think most people never played it cause they just dismiss it as a tennis game.
Yes, World Court Tennis amd Final Lap Twin from Namco are both awesome! World Court Tennis is a continuation of their Family Tennis line where you have to beat the evil tennis king of Chicago. Final Lap Twin basically mixes Dragon Warrior world and towns with the racing of Pole Position. I had a ton of fun with both!
So, quick correction. Shadows Over Loathing actually has a classic Lovecraft setting, not medieval. This is (or at least was) a medieval inspired game called Kingdom of Loathing, which is the first game in this trilogy. It was PC only, and free to play; you accessed it by going to its website. The only drawback is that everything you did in it was governed by action points, and it took like 5 minutes of real time to get a single action point back (with a cap of course), so you were forced to play it little by little over the course of days if not weeks.
Gris is such a great pick for this. It's a fantastic and beautiful 2d platformer. Conrad Roset was the art director on Gris and he's an amazing artist. He's also involved with the upcoming game Neva. Great video my friend!
I really enjoyed this video. I got very stuck early on in Golf Story when I was forced to play disc golf. I go back every once in a while to try, but am just stuck. So many people recommend Gris, I bought it digitally on sale and look forward to playing it ASAP. Thanks for making my backlog even bigger RNG!!! My local library has Paradise Killer and I have picked it up to borrow many times. Definitely going to pick it up soon. West of Loathing looks great too.
I really hope that Astra Chain gets a sequel. The musical transition from non combat to Combat is just amazing and something I think you would really appreciate. It is the best game I have played on the switch. The somewhat hidden 2 player option is great too.
A low key Gem for me is "Demon Throttle "... it has an old school, top down, vertical scrolling co-OP arcade design, a dash of bullet hell, some humor, and it's pretty darn difficult to boot... oh, yeah and it's physical only, no digital version available. It'll be a tough one to find in the future, even if it's not going to be worth a ton, it'll be pretty darn rare to find in the wild
Finally catching up! I'm so looking for that Golf Story game. That description reminds me off Mario Golf on the GBC with the RPG elements and I love that. Just one more reason I need to finally get a switch! Great stuff brother!

I played astral chain for the first time this past January 2024 and it’s an old game but for me one of the games of the year lol! Use a gold star on it asap!
Gris is in my top 5 indie games or just random didn't know what I was in for but dived in and loved it games. Music and story moved me deeply and the artwork I could look at all day. I almost got a tattoo. Artist is Conrad Roset and worth a look. I am not a huge platormer player but the gameplay in this drew me in, intrigued me and challenged me just the right amount and didn't frustrate me or make me rage quit.

Astral Chain was a great recommendation for Scott from Level 857 and he LOVED it. You need to play it immediately. It's amazing! I had no idea there was a Deadly Premonition 2!!!!! 😂😂😂 I just finished the 1st one and despite all of it....I now want to play the 2nd one 😂😂 I have heard nothing but AMAZING things about golf story and I'm mad at myself I didn't pick it up! I honestly thought it sounded dumb....I'm dumb! Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, Curse of the moon and Curse of the moon 2. Loved them all. That would be my recommendation on the switch.....oh and guacamelee. They likely aren't all switch exclusives BUT I played them on the switch. Oh and I definitely 100,000% need to get Yomawari! I don't even know if I spelled that right, but I've seen you talk about it and Steve Craig talk about it so I must have it! It will be mine. Oh yes it will be mine!

Deadly premonition is an amazing game i have it on ps3 and switch even got the platinum trophy, the game is a massive love letterto Twin Peaks from the town, the coffee, the weird locals, etc. I would go as far to say that Deadly premonition shouldnt be played without first having watched Twin peaks season 1 and 2.
I don't know anyone personally who gets into Saudi-backed golf, no matter how much money LIV tosses around. I generally went with PS4 over Switch when possible for multi-platform games. Some of the Switch (or that are at least also physically available on it) games I played the most have been: Billion Road Death's Door Oxenfree Thimbleweed Park Pato Box To the Moon Eastward Death's Gambit Yoku's Island Express The are tons more, but even some of those are pretty well-known. I love Eastward to pieces, though, amd Yoku's Island Express may be one of the most relaxing games I've played ever.

I was told that it wasn’t able to be shipped to the UK but I ordered it from the Nicalis site and they did send it. It sold out in one day. Since then I have never seen a copy on the uk eBay site or any games shop.
I have a switch and my girls and i play it alot together. But i have tbh most of the games seem very much for a younger audience. Astral chain is great tho and there are a few hidden gems. Me and my girls play a game where your a squid kid with a paint gun. Its really fun, we always laugh our butts off playing together.
Splatoon! Yeah the switch has tons of kids games on it... but it's also the only system that doesn't censor adult content. There are tons of adult only games on the Switch 😅
It’s funny I covered and played astral chain years ago and found it kind of “mid” but still very cool. Hell I use the police station music as my background loop for all my videos. But i definitely was not super into the “two characters” in use at once. But yea you’re spot on with what the game is like without knowing lol. Still I’d highly recommend trying it
I have spent $60 on way worse games then astral chain. Its worth the full price. Good length (not too long not too short), good story, combat is cool and originali and the graphics are about as good as it can get on the switch imo
New RNG Gamer! Astral Chain is quite good, and has a very distinct combat system. Danganronpa is a series I've been eyeing for a while, but never gotten into. Watched a couple people play it, don't think it's for me. My choice for fantastic terrible game would be Dirge of Cerberus. It was clunky and had some questionable design choices, but as a Vincent fan I still got a lot of fun out of my time with it. I'd love to see SE remake it as part of the FF7 Remake project. Gris is fantastic! It's more of an experience than a game, but worth playing through at least once. I don't know that I would pay what they're asking for the phsyical, but for less than $5 on sale you can't go wrong grabbing it digitally! That box IS a work of art though. Paradise Killer has been on my wishlist for a long time. It is very much up my alley. Limited Run has two major branches: Publishing and Distribution. Most of their distribution titles get at least some retail presence, and they've had a good relationship with Best Buy for a long while. Outside of some highly motivated local game stores, BB is your best bet for a lot of their games if you don't want to wait a year or two after preordering.

I got the decadence CE on switch when it came out and one of the best collections on the switch. Ive always considered danganronpa more of a classic adventure game more so than a visual novel, along with AI the somnium files
hell yeah Danganronpa also Astral Chain is really good. only played like 10 hours of it before getting distracted by other games oops but yeah it's very solid. I gotta finish it some day.
Holy crap RNG gamer you are right astral chain is so bloody good it is one of the top tier most best games ever of all time. If you ever have another one of those little contest for yourself before you get to decide to pick which game you play for episodes then you definitely pick that one

I have to recommend to add to your backlog another amazing metroidvania game if you haven't heard of it AGGELOS it is awesome there is a physical version out there and it's one of those pixel art inspired games it looks better than 8-bit games but a little bit more than the 16th games but it's an incredible metroidvania experience I played it all the way through it just it's way better than what it looks like when you first start the awesome boss battles and the way you unlock new areas is a 10 out of 10 game AGGELOS!
@RNGGamerYT oh yeah I thought Golf Story was fanatic and they announced Sports Story following the critical acclaim and then the game released unplayable and broken. It was broken upon release after many delays and the updates to fix it were a long time out. I hear it's "fixed" now but it was a let down for sure. Rushed swing and a miss. Love the show sir!
Urghh for me Astral Chain is all the bad bits of Platinum games added together...then they went one worse with the messy Bayonetta 3. The hidden bangers on Switch are Neko Navy, Block Knockers, Fight N Rage, Rolling Gunner, Kuso, Ninja Warriors return of the Saviours, Crimzon Clover 🍀
I've already covered a lot of those on this channel! I'm still waiting on my copy of Neko Navy and Crimzon Clover from First Press Games. I think they stole my money 😅

I have a switch but it’s my least used console and don’t see myself collecting for. Not knocking it, just wasn’t for me. 360, PS2 and N64 are my current focus. The wife can handle the Switch collecting lol.
That all has to do with marketing. I guarantee you Astral Chain was the more profitable of the two. Cheaper to make and much smaller marketing budget if any. I don’t recall seeing much advertising for it.
Last of Us 2 was an amazing masterpiece of a game and epitome of character development and storytelling. I’m sorry it just didn’t resonate with you but it is the only game I have beaten 2 time and will be playing again on pc and will beat it again
I also loved the first one and couldnt wait to play the sequel. I actually forced myself to play through the whole thing because I kept telling myself "its going to get good any moment now" lol never did
I bought Astral Chain when it was first released. I played through and beat it but it felt like a chore and not a fun gaming experience. The game has great combat. The game was great visuals. The game has a competent/somewhat good story line. With all of that I should have loved the game but I did not. Since it is a Nintendo and Platinum game and didn't sell too well I'm holding onto my copy as an investment. Maybe one day it will be worth more than Miner 2049 2.

Me and my dad watched PGA golf every weekend. He passed away last year and I haven't watched it since. I got the golf joke though, good one!

I have spent $60 on way worse games then astral chain. Its worth the full price. Good length (not too long not too short), good story, combat is cool and originali and the graphics are about as good as it can get on the switch imo
the 1st oculus quest my mom had is when the year was 2019 in december something for the 2nd it was 2020 for the 3rd 2024 in May 2nd or 3rd

Astral Chain is quite good, and has a very distinct combat system.
Danganronpa is a series I've been eyeing for a while, but never gotten into. Watched a couple people play it, don't think it's for me.
My choice for fantastic terrible game would be Dirge of Cerberus. It was clunky and had some questionable design choices, but as a Vincent fan I still got a lot of fun out of my time with it. I'd love to see SE remake it as part of the FF7 Remake project.
Gris is fantastic! It's more of an experience than a game, but worth playing through at least once. I don't know that I would pay what they're asking for the phsyical, but for less than $5 on sale you can't go wrong grabbing it digitally! That box IS a work of art though.
Paradise Killer has been on my wishlist for a long time. It is very much up my alley.
Limited Run has two major branches: Publishing and Distribution. Most of their distribution titles get at least some retail presence, and they've had a good relationship with Best Buy for a long while. Outside of some highly motivated local game stores, BB is your best bet for a lot of their games if you don't want to wait a year or two after preordering.

I got the decadence CE on switch when it came out and one of the best collections on the switch. Ive always considered danganronpa more of a classic adventure game more so than a visual novel, along with AI the somnium files

I have to recommend to add to your backlog another amazing metroidvania game if you haven't heard of it AGGELOS it is awesome there is a physical version out there and it's one of those pixel art inspired games it looks better than 8-bit games but a little bit more than the 16th games but it's an incredible metroidvania experience I played it all the way through it just it's way better than what it looks like when you first start the awesome boss battles and the way you unlock new areas is a 10 out of 10 game AGGELOS!

@RNGGamerYT oh yeah I thought Golf Story was fanatic and they announced Sports Story following the critical acclaim and then the game released unplayable and broken. It was broken upon release after many delays and the updates to fix it were a long time out. I hear it's "fixed" now but it was a let down for sure. Rushed swing and a miss. Love the show sir!
Urghh for me Astral Chain is all the bad bits of Platinum games added together...then they went one worse with the messy Bayonetta 3. The hidden bangers on Switch are Neko Navy, Block Knockers, Fight N Rage, Rolling Gunner, Kuso, Ninja Warriors return of the Saviours, Crimzon Clover 🍀
I've already covered a lot of those on this channel! I'm still waiting on my copy of Neko Navy and Crimzon Clover from First Press Games. I think they stole my money 😅

I have a switch but it’s my least used console and don’t see myself collecting for. Not knocking it, just wasn’t for me. 360, PS2 and N64 are my current focus. The wife can handle the Switch collecting lol.

That all has to do with marketing. I guarantee you Astral Chain was the more profitable of the two. Cheaper to make and much smaller marketing budget if any. I don’t recall seeing much advertising for it.

Last of Us 2 was an amazing masterpiece of a game and epitome of character development and storytelling. I’m sorry it just didn’t resonate with you but it is the only game I have beaten 2 time and will be playing again on pc and will beat it again

I bought Astral Chain when it was first released. I played through and beat it but it felt like a chore and not a fun gaming experience. The game has great combat. The game was great visuals. The game has a competent/somewhat good story line. With all of that I should have loved the game but I did not. Since it is a Nintendo and Platinum game and didn't sell too well I'm holding onto my copy as an investment. Maybe one day it will be worth more than Miner 2049 2.
