I'm really grateful how there was literally no bullshit in this video. No sponsor, no channel hype until the end, no intros. You went straight to business from 0:00

I liked how you tilt the chair forward by exposing those wires. It made it easy.

Are there any sensors under the seats relating to the airbags? Will the battery need to be disconnected before removing the seats, if that's the case?

Thanks so much for posting this video! I have a 2009 Outback Sport Impreza and I’ve been wanting to remove the seat to make space for car camping. So, I removed it and did the seatbelt trick to disarm the seat warning. But now I have the red airbag light on in my gauge instrument cluster underneath the gas level. I’m not concerned about the yellow indicator for the passenger side near the clock, but I’m a little nervous about this red light. Quick questions (1) am I in danger of a bad malfunction? Or is it just letting me know that the seat’s unplugged and the airbags will still work? (2) is there a way to turn it off? (3) is this legal to keep it removed? I’m guessing I’ll have to reinstall for inspections as needed. Thanks so much again for the vid and thanks in advance for your help with these questions.

I got to the point of potentially clipping the zip-ties on my 2016 wrx but I got scared and and didn't cut them; I bolted it all back up...lol...my main concern is the paranoia that I didn't bolt it all back tight enough/evenly...I hate being OCD man I only did it cuz I dropped an apple pie in between my seats lol. The zip tie under my seat looked reusable and was inserted similar to a small rivet in the metal bracket

Have you given any thought to putting any extra foam support padding in your seat? Such as better lumbar support. I would be interested in seeing you do a video on this. Others have posted but as I have stated before, your videos are well thought out.

I am thinking about changing my seats. Are all subaru seat same size? I have an Impreza. Could I get a crosstrek or Legacy instead?

By disconnecting those wires to the airbag sensor, do you have to reset the airbag light? I'll like to change the driver side bottom seat cushion and/or seat on my 2014 Subaru Impreza with another one from the salvage yard but i am a bit concern about the airbag issue? Please, let me know. My got a big cigarette burn from the previous owner. LOL

Sorry, just disconnect the wire and swap it with another seat as I needs to replace the burns seat cushion bottom.

I like your video, . Could you please tell me why you have to disconnect the battery cable before disconnecting the connectors under the seat . What will happen if you don't disconnect the battery ? Great video , thanks !

    • @akqjtn
      @akqjtn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks, more than likely nothing will happen, however when plugging/unplugging connectors with current going through them there is always a chance of a spark, accidental grounding, or current surge, which can blow your fuse if lucky or even fry a circuit. It only takes a minute to disconnect the negative battery terminal and that is cheap insurance.

This is helpful-thanks. Question-I have to remove the driver seat in a 2015 Forester. Is there a risk of deploying an airbag? Should I pull fuses or disconnect the battery first?

Would the limited power seats be plug and play to a WRX base or premium?

    • @KaigaiProject

@@akqjtn thanks for your fast reply, I might skip on buying replacement seats then. Wanted power seats cause I read they have adjustable lumbar.

Is that fourth part that powers the seat connected to anything in the car? It doesnt look like it does, if its just stuck on the seat and I guess somehow powered by the 3 cables that go into the car I think I COULD actually buy these for my car. Id appreciate your input lol

@@KaigaiProject Hi - I have a 2016 Limited with power seats of course, no lumbar adjustments of any kind - on my model at least - something I wish I had!

This video is awesome! Thank you! I do have a possibly stupid question though, if I had to take my seat out to fit a large object, which I might be doing right now, the seatbelt circuit is now incomplete and my car thinks I have a passenger but obviously I can’t plug-in the part of the seatbelt that stays attached to the seat. (The female side by the console) Is there a way around this? Or is this just how it is. The chime is driving me nuts, but I realize this wasn’t exactly designed for this

does anyone know if i put recaro seats from an STI into a WRX if the heated seats wud still work?

I have the same question as below. I owed a 335i previously and removed a seat. Once reinstalled I had to visit a dealer to have the air bag sensor reset so the system would work. Is this the case with the WRX?
