@Yippee Skippy Thanks for taking the time to give a bit of feedback! I hadn't thought about being zoomed out making it more personal, I'll perhaps give that a go in another video and see how I feel about it 👍🏼 I do always like that you can see Casey gesturing when he speaks tbf...
I’ve found that the hardest thing for me is storytelling because of time. I completely underestimated how hard it is to tell a story so I keep reverting back to tutorials which take research but that comes easy to me. Thanks for sharing
Great stuff Tom. I think the best thing I learnt from the coarse was to tell a story, but also to keep the story moving along and interesting with different perspectives from different camera angles. Good luck with your creations. Gonna check your 2 films for the coarse out now!
Well done. Production quality off the charts here! Then I looked at sub count and wondered if that was a mistake. Looking forward to more insight and 'movies' from you. Cheers 🍹
Superb analysis. Casey is the man and I think you did a great job picking three key elements that get people (like me) out of their heads and back to creating 😊
Love where you are taking your content. Keep it up! Im in the military so im debating on taking the class because of time but then again time can be made for any dream and passion! This (as well as your other videos) were amazing. Much Love!
Thanks for your comment mate. I bet there'll be all sorts of interesting stories you'll be able to draw from with a military background... if you can find an hour somewhere each day you'll be able to do it for sure! :)
Subbed! Great work look forward to seeing what types of videos you make bro. good luck out there. Enjoy the food making process and look forward to following along for the ride.
Nice video, subscribed, I wish you the best. What I like about Casey videos is his ability to weave multiple stories into his videos. It reminds me of the old show of the Love Boat, where there were like three stories going on and then at the end it all worked out and was coordinated.
@@tomrenegadefilms 💪 what’s your take on a mixed content YT channel? What’s the optimal setup for success, a laser focus channel (on a single topic) or one where you mixed different niches? I feel I can make videos about different topics but I’m not sure what the user retention might be once viewers start getting different type of content in their home page. Thank u for the work you’re doing.
This is great, very well distilled insight, thanks for sharing. I plan to do the same thing, to move more in a movie-like direction. I just published my 10th "TH-cam film" so I have learning to do, but I'm moving forward and your insights will help that process become even better. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it! If you're looking to improve storytelling it's a great class, but if you're looking to get better at cinematography I'd look elsewhere as the technical side of the course is very minimal...
@@tomrenegadefilms That actually helps. I feel like I would want more of the story aspect in a course, I think most people can kind of get the technical part down but the story telling and keeping the audience engaged is what really makes his movies.
nice one....i need to make my vlogs a little less perfect...and allow the mistakes...to help carry the story.. trying to be so perfect...ends up we not pressing record...at all...so press record and go with it...
In my opinion, the biggest problem with Casey films is that they are about nothing. There is no content in them. I like them in terms of visuals. But I can't find any content in them. In this respect, they bore me a lot.
I get that point of view if you're not particularly invested in him as a person. But I think for people that like him and want to know what's going on with him, he's very good at making his ordinary day entertaining to watch...
I love Casey but when he says he doesn’t film his day randomly like others but finds a “story” he’s full of it. When he does do some story though he’s amazing. There is a video he did on trying to find a squirrel in his house in LA and the detail is insane. He’s absurdly talented but no one is blessed with amazing stories all the time. He’s pushed out bs.
great video, but PLEASE raise / check your video volume. It was way to low in this video.. sorry.. in this movie. :) -16.9 dB to low regarding to TH-cams "stats for nerds" (right klick a video and you can watch these stats)

@@tomrenegadefilms thanks
That's dirt on the sensor. Certainly not on the lens or filter.
Interesting. Good to know!
