This worked as of October, 2020. Bought a new Apple 5 watch, but it kept saying “unable to to update because you are not connected to the internet”. I reset my network settings and turned off my Apple Watch. Once I got reconnected to the internet and turned on my watch, I put it on and paired to it. Updated no problem. Appreciate the help brotha

Yeah, I've gotten a tone fo users that are having the same issue. You can try to do a reset form the watch itself and remove any beat profiles you have on your phone and see if you can reconnect after. If not then the best advice I was able to find in my research was to reach out to Apple they can help.

DamianeMusic yea bro if you’ve tried everything and still nothing.. go into you’re settings then into general scroll down to reset and hit “reset all settings” you don’t lose any pics or info or apps it just refreshes the phone. I was using an Iphone6s plus and this worked for me. Good luck

That happened to me too. I rebooted both my apple watch and iphone and it finally allowed me to download the update which took forever btw. Then after that it didn’t let me pair my watch so I rebooted both again and all my problems were finally solved!

Delete any beta profiles that may be installed for your iPhone and/or Apple Watch and then restart both devices after doing so. Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch (normally): Close the Watch app on your iPhone: Double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the Watch app preview to close it Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first; Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch (which updates watchOS as part of the process): The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch when unpairing via the app. Choose to Restore from Backup when offered the option during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
So I looked into your issue, it looks like the watch is no longer pairing because you're in beta. If there was an issue with the watch os updating pass past beta 1 that could cause this issue. From what I'm seeing the fix would be you would need to reach out to apple and get the watch os beta removed and downgraded back to 5 and it should then pair to your beat ios13 device.

I am up to date of software iOS 14 and the Apple Watch app give me a note that I have to update my phone before I can update the Apple Watch and that is impossible since on my setting it says I am up to date on my iPhone. What do I do?

Make sure you're not on beta the watch won't work on beta if you good on that end do a quick hard reset then check for an update again, make sure you have enough space, and a good connection also. Worst case try updating by connecting thought iTunes on a laptop of desktop
I am having a problem. I have an iPhone 6 and just bought Apple Watch series 3. When I try to connect my watch to my phone, it told me to update my phone in which I did. When I try to connect my watch to my phone again, it tells me to update my phone.
My Apple Watch series 3 is refusing to pair with my iPhone 6. The software is fully updated, but when I try to pair it says my software isn’t up to date and kicks evenrything off.
Robbie I found out that they’re not compatible anymore. The series 3 Apple watches operate on os6 now, and the iPhone 6 operates on iOS12. Os6 is only compatible with iSO13 and up.
Please make sure that your not running a beta on your iPhone as the iPhone will not pair to watch os, if you are running a beta delete the beta profile restart your phone and try again. if your not running a beta and a new watch us not paring check the quick things like your Bluetooth ect. Still no luck I would recommend exchanging the watch itself.
I just purchased my Apple Watch yesterday and spent 2 hours trying to simply pair it. I had taken it out of the box and started it for the first time ever and it refused to pair to my iPhone and all I get is “Pairing Failed” every time I go to choose wrist preference. check you iPhone, make sure it's up to date and not on a beta the watch won't work with a beta version of ios. Also, try a hard restart of the phone as well.
Okay, so I went and did an exchange where I purchased it from and the exchanges watch worked perfectly fine so I am assuming it was a issue with the watch itself, this may be the same issue for anyone else in case they haven’t installed a beta and if you know your phone is up to date.
I have seen some fix that issue by connecting the iPhone to your PC or Mac and run the update thought iTunes. but this will only work if your not running a beta. If the watch is running a beta profile this will not work.

Mine keeps saying that I need to update the watch to pair but it will say it has 10 hours and then when it’s at like 1 hour then it will say paused and then I won’t go anymore

When my phone scans the Apple Watch to pair it just scans it and the brings me to the screen to start scanning again, when I try to connect manually the 6 digit code doesn’t show up on my Apple Watch

Well what I found from the guy at Best Buy was that my iPhone 11 was to new to pair with my series one Apple Watch, but they said it would still pair with older phones

Fir check to make sure your ios on your iphone have been fully updated, hs there my be a patch out if not
On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Usage > Software Update - delete any update file, if one is shown.
Delete any beta profiles that may be installed for your iPhone and/or Apple Watch and then restart both devices after doing so.
Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch (normally): Close the Watch app on your iPhone: Double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the Watch app preview to close it Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first; Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch (which updates watchOS as part of the process): The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch when unpairing via the app. Choose to Restore from Backup when offered the option during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
Hello, what about trying to connect and scanning the watch upon pairing? It’s i a constant loop and after about 10 minutes or so there is a message that the watched timed out. What can I do after this? Thank you.

I am up to date of software iOS 14 and the Apple Watch app give me a note that I have to update my phone before I can update the Apple Watch and that is impossible since on my setting it says I am up to date on my iPhone. What do I do?
When I pair my iPhone with my applewatch it says my Apple Watch needs an update then I click it and it says it’s up to date and then I’m stuck on that screen. HELP😂

Hi, my iPhone XR just says checking for update......it won’t do for anything else. I’m frustrated
Make sure you're not on beta the watch won't work on beta if you good on that end do a quick hard reset then check for an update again, make sure you have enough space, and a good connection also. Worst case try updating by connecting thought iTunes on a laptop of desktop

I am having a problem. I have an iPhone 6 and just bought Apple Watch series 3. When I try to connect my watch to my phone, it told me to update my phone in which I did. When I try to connect my watch to my phone again, it tells me to update my phone.

My Apple Watch series 3 is refusing to pair with my iPhone 6. The software is fully updated, but when I try to pair it says my software isn’t up to date and kicks evenrything off.

Robbie I found out that they’re not compatible anymore. The series 3 Apple watches operate on os6 now, and the iPhone 6 operates on iOS12. Os6 is only compatible with iSO13 and up.

Please make sure that your not running a beta on your iPhone as the iPhone will not pair to watch os, if you are running a beta delete the beta profile restart your phone and try again. if your not running a beta and a new watch us not paring check the quick things like your Bluetooth ect. Still no luck I would recommend exchanging the watch itself.

I just purchased my Apple Watch yesterday and spent 2 hours trying to simply pair it. I had taken it out of the box and started it for the first time ever and it refused to pair to my iPhone and all I get is “Pairing Failed” every time I go to choose wrist preference. I have followed all of your steps and nothing is working at all, and I sadly cannot access the watch itself other than the pairing screen, any idea what might be going on?
check you iPhone, make sure it's up to date and not on a beta the watch won't work with a beta version of ios. Also, try a hard restart of the phone as well.

Okay, so I went and did an exchange where I purchased it from and the exchanges watch worked perfectly fine so I am assuming it was a issue with the watch itself, this may be the same issue for anyone else in case they haven’t installed a beta and if you know your phone is up to date.

I have seen some fix that issue by connecting the iPhone to your PC or Mac and run the update thought iTunes. but this will only work if your not running a beta. If the watch is running a beta profile this will not work.

there was an issue with the watch os updating that could cause this issue. From what I'm seeing the fix would be you would need to reach out to apple and get the watch os beta removed and downgraded as it is no longer paired to your ios device
