    As a 3D artist I think the hardest thing is sticking to 1 field. I enjoy making characters, environments and models/ weapons. But unfortunately people rather a specialist instead of a generalist apparently.

      @Storm K-1 Not everyone can be a 3D Generalist. You need an eye for specific details, thorough understanding of art/math/physics. Not to mention the amount of time to develop oneself in many areas. This requires people with more than average capabilities.

    Many of these ideas can actually be projected onto Roblox. You don't have to be "the best" to find some decent commissions for a few hundreds or collaborate with a scripter and make a game. There is a developer exchange system so you do get your money. This made me a few thousands in the past few months.

    • @NaitoDev

      Same here. It worked quite well but, I feel like the platform is limited since Roblox devs are basically just following trends not being creative when making games. That's why the jobs are repetitive or boring

    3d art market became oversaturated. I went from having plenty of jobs 24/7 on Upwork with great pay, to even unable to find 10usd/hr job. I am making a switch right now. Unless you are obssesed with 3D and you do it over 10 hours a day in your free time too then go for it, otherwise you will be in for a big disappointment.

      Are you sure it's not just a "dry spell"? For me, Upwork is extremely uneven when it comes to work. It goes from too many jobs to 0 and then back again after a few months. I'm currently working on a 60usd/hour contract so there's still good jobs there.

      @@vidarvegger After NFT downfall the amount of jobs dropped drastically. There are way less normal jobs, more people asking for high skill with low pay, too many are willing to do the work for such a low pay. Do art in your spare time for fun. Don't do art to make money.
    To make money, be a software developer instead. Programmers have many more paths to success with a lot less effort once the base code is written. It is much easier for programmers to exploit artists whether by downloading free assets or paying artists dirt wages to create the visuals for them than the other way around.

    • @Testurteil20
      @Testurteil20 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you have experience with that? Are you working as a dev and do art in your spare time? Because iam at a point right now where i have to choose. I find generaly programming interesting but Blender ist interesting too. But i have a family and cant afford to do something just for fun.
      Edit: The goal is to progress in my professional life without working 12h/day and without going to university (or something similar) again.

    I've found the only effective way to make money from Blender is getting my current gf to make an OnlyFans acct, and work, work, work... She uses a Green Screen and I make the backgrounds (she's a winter type in make up, so I use the correct color gamut for her.) Anything else, and I mean _anything else_ begs credulity, imo.
    Lucky for me, Blender is the means I use for my Art Therapy... any money I make is just gravy.

      @@fahruprime8876 Spoilers: she's already doing it probably for free as she cheats on you, so you might as well monetize it.
      If you think not, look deeper.
      The bodycounts of young women today, with their ability to think they are covert cheating with all the hookup apps (the gov't databases all interactions, so at least someone knows) you have no idea what she actually is doing, or to say it explicitly in girl code:
      *"If he don't know, I'm not a garden hoe."*
