I love this puppy. So calm. And I hope people are starting to realize that treating our puppies like the dog we want him or her to be is the only way to go. No baby talk. No sometimes rules. Great adventures! I will absolutely take this course when I'm closer to being able to get a dog. Thanks Will, for letting us see a bit of the process!!

Will! Thank you for all the videos and valuable info - you're awesome and I am grateful for you sharing all these lessons in leadership - as is my pup 🙂
So exciting to see this video. My dog is well past the puppy stage but still helpful. Just a note, it has been found in the last several years that unless your dog has a grain allergy, grain- free food has been connected to potentially life threatening heart issues. This has been proven and any vet or veterinary cardiologist can discuss it further, but just wanted to throw that out there ❤️
they also tested that on dogs that were prone to heart issues black labs and schnauzers. the test i saw anyways. I had 2 mini schnauzers they ate wellness and orijin grain free all their lives and the both passed of old age at 16 yrs old. My mutt 6 yrs old is allergic to grain and beef.. so i don't feed any of my dogs grain or beef.. if she would get a mouth full of the wrong food it would be bad for her. My dogs don't share food but if the wrong bowl was put infront of her it would be bad.
Hello Will! Love your new pup, so adorable! Looking forward to watching his training. Going to get a 2nd dog next year, a golden retriever pup. So always good to review.. even though I’ve already watched every one of your vids 😅
take your other dog with you and let the older dog pick the puppy... i avoided alot of issues doing that. just a suggestion not all dogs are uncle sully.
Very excited to follow this journey alongside you. I’ve picked up my Irish Setter pup after watching your vids and researching for the past 6 months. Your vids have been invaluable.
Hi Will , we will be collecting our Rhodesian Ridgeback on 20 oct from york , following all you do with your new puppy. I am looking forward to seeing your training blogs ..many thanks.
Well,I'm quietly impressed with myself. I've had dogs all my life but have never really followed any formal training as such. I've gone mainly off instinct. But watching your video today,I pretty much have bought all the correct equipment and everything my girls need. I did make the mistake of buying expensive beds ,which my frenchie devoured 😂. Not making that mistake again.😂 Most of the more expensive stuff is beyond my price bracket, but there are cheaper versions which are just as effective. My gsd is going through her rebellious teenage stage so we're having to back track a little and redrill some bits but it's nothing we can't overcome with patience , consistency, and perseverance. She isn't a barker just atm and, given her personality,I think she'll be a more placid dog. The only thing I can't seem to get her to do is stop jumping. She doesn't consistently jump up,just tries it a couple of times and then she'll stop, but it only takes once for her to knock me or someone else flying as she's going to be on the larger size for a female. so, I'm looking forward to watching how you stop this behaviour . Also, I'm using a headcollar atm as she does pull and again,is going to be a very powerful dog,so looking forward to seeing how you stop this behaviour. The headcollar is an absolute godsend and she walks beautifully with it on,but I don't want this to be a permanent solution. I want to be able to loose lead walk her at my side without the headcollar so,will be watching this journey faithfully. Your advice so far has made me far more confident that I'm doing the right things, mostly, so onwards to my perfect adult companion. And thankyou so much for allowing us to watch this journey. I'm sure I'll learn so much ❤
38:11 hi will, I had a long haired german shepherd and found the ferminator didn't work very well for their coat type as it seemed to make their hair wirey/rougher/tougher texture than using a rake or a pin brush. I might be wrong but it looks like reggie will have a similar coat to her so i just wanted to give you a heads up
Will you be updating the content on your Perfect Puppy Course with Reggie? You say at 40:47 that you're vlogging with Reggie with behind the scenes footage and releasing only snippets to TH-cam? Thanks.
I got a 5 mos old small breed from a breeder. He knows nothing. Its been a hard road for both of us. Hope it gets better soon. She just let him run loose outside all day long, no correction or training, not even potty.
@@Vhalarox1 I googled it and found his goodbye post online. He completely stepped away from the products side of the business to focus on the training aspects of what he does.
I wondered the same thing. He failed to mention the Fenrir slip lead, collar or treat pouch (all of which my partner and I purchased on his recommendation) and he recommends a kong instead of a Fenrir hammer.
I dont think they really need another bed outside of their crate. Once you trust your dog just leave the door open. My dog loves his crate. It has a comfortable bed and is his safe space. He spends more time in their by choice than anywhere else.
Hello Will, we’ve just rescued our Jack Russell at almost 5 months old. He’s doing great so far. We’re crate training and toilet training with your online advise. He’s nervous around small children and growls/barks. We don’t want this behaviour to continue and are looking for any advise please. Thanks Nat & Ryan
i am not a dog trainer except for my own dogs. My mutt (6 yr old 80 pound spaded female) doesn't care for kids but she tolerates them. if the kids are crying or screaming... no way. what i did was took my mutt around kids that weren't screaming or crying in lowes bass pro etc. Gave them her favorite treat and had them tell her to sit and stay then put the treat in front of her on the floor then back away a step or 2.. it worked but now she thinks all kids have treats but she will walk past kids without loosing her mind. Mini american shepard 8 months old (24 pound neutered male) same thing but he still looses his mind if the kids are rushing towards him... i think it is a small dog thing. If the kids approach him not running he is fine. My full size aussie (55 pound neutered male 2 years old) is so tolerable of whatever he does not care... he does sheep herding he is used to running jumping etc... Jack russells are know to be high energy like my mini american shepard try the sit stay and have the kid put the treat on the floor and back up he might think all kids have treats but it will get ur dog to guess which kid has a treat and he doesn't get a treat when he is barking. also play with your dogs ears and tail because kids do that... get him used to it before it freaks him out.
I've had four dogs and have never clipped their nails. If they're getting plenty of outdoors exercise is it still necessary to clip nails or would they be worn down naturally?
Regarding the raw food : the variety boxes you recommend from Raw dog food company do not stipulate that these are suitable for puppies whereas there are puppy options available on other sites. Are these ok for puppies ?
Hoping someone can help clarify :) For the vlogs mentioned to guide through the puppy class module available online - are these exclusive for people who purchase the online module? And if so where will the vlogs be available to watch exclusively? Or have I totally misunderstood and will they be here on TH-cam? :)
Is there a reason you chose to take Reggie at 8 weeks and not, say, 12 or 16 weeks? I’ve heard that the longer they are with the litter, the better socialised they will be?
From what I've read and understand, by 8 weeks the puppy doesn't need milk anymore and has learned some key foundational social/behavioral lessons from mom and litter mates. Any younger and you're nearly guaranteed to have an ill adjusted dog-temparment wise, but around 8 weeks is great for the pup to bond with you. It is easier to form that bond and leadership around 8 weeks than if they are older. Not that it can't be done, obviously. It's just easier. Your pup would be crate and potty trained by 12 weeks if you start at 8. Plus .....the tiny cuteness! 😍🐾
Hey Will! I just got my 4 month old puppy, he is a Cane Corso and Staffordshire bull terrier mix. He is so far very stubborn. Right now I am trying to train him to sit. How should I go about it.
I could be wrong man I'm not a pro. But I would start with establishing a food lure. When the dog follows your hand knowing there's food in there, you position the dog and while He's sniffing your hand for the food move it up over his head so he sits. Reward the sit with your "yes" marker and give food. If he just keeps backing up to get the food gently encourage his rear end down and when he sits again yes marker and food. Once he's got the food lure down for sir, start pairing it with the "sit" command. Don't just start off saying sit a million times because it'll devalue the command and he has no idea what your saying. Idk if this helps bur that's my 2 cents
hey will, i have a problem. My new puppy and older dogs arent getting along at all and the older one also growls and snaps at the new puppy. Will this get better over time and is there anything i can do to help?
the younger dog needs to learn to give the older dog the space they want. My mutt picked her new aussie friend when our 16 yr old mini schnauzer passed. We still had 1 15 yr mini schnauzer in the house and when we came in the schnauzer came up and sniffed him etc never a problem...but my mutt was the one that i was concerned about so i let her pick her new friend. thats how i avoided what you are going through now. my mutt is 80 pounds the schnauzer was 15 pounds but 1/2 deaf and 1/2 blind but the aussie 8 weeks old and 9 pounds never disrespected the schnauzers space. all dogs wait to eat sit stay etc. i walked them all together but the big dogs don't get tired but the schnauzer did so i carried her the last 1/2 of our walk normally but that also put her in the leader aspect because they all walked beside or behind me. dogs bond on the walk and they are busy walking they can only concentrate on 1 thing at a time.

Nearly £1000 for a crate. I will love my dog but I don't know how to justify that much money on a crate when it doesn't give my dog any more quality of life

Hey Will, are you no longer affiliated with Fenrir?
I second this, wondering why you're not recommending fenrirs leads and kongs?
@@Vhalarox1 I googled it and found his goodbye post online. He completely stepped away from the products side of the business to focus on the training aspects of what he does.
