Nice list. I like my xB at stock height so I can "accidentally" go over curbs and such :) My black 2006 xB is still mostly stock with 98K miles. Here's my list: 1. New stereo (Pioneer/Focal) 2. TRD cold air intake 3. Thule roof rack 4. TRD short shifter 5. TRD LED brake lights
I got the Axxion short shift link and it made the shift throw up and down very short, but the side to side stayed the same. Does the TRD change throw all around?

Glad to see the love is still there for the original toaster. For what it's worth, however, I would do NONE of these mods to mine. I've been a mechanic for over 30 years, and was a service manager for a Toyota dealership when these things came out. I have probably removed more aftermarket garbage from cars that failed or was causing problems than most people have ever installed. Most aftermarket gear is made in China and is nowhere near the quality of OEM Toyota. My 2006 xB has 217,000 and all I have replaced is one oxygen sensor and the exhaust. Everything else is original other than regular full fluid changes and wear items like brakes and tires. I get 30 mpg around town and over 32 on the highway. Here's why I say don't do these mods: - Cold Air Intake: Don't kid yourself. You are NOT getting any more power, you're just hearing the sucking sound the original airbox dampens. K&N makes a fortune off of kids who think changing a filter is going to give an engine more power than what the engineers gave it with the same displacement, valve timing, etc. I can't believe people still buy these things. - Bigger wheels and tires with spacers: Spacers are dangerous. You are now holding the wheel on with less threads than the engineers originally designed it for. Bigger tires add weight and just mean more thumping over bumps (look up unsprung weight). - Lowering it: Unless you live in CA and the roads are beautiful, why would you want to reduce ride quality. You're never going to be able to go fast enough in this thing to be able to feel a performance benefit. It's not a sports car. In the meantime, you've just altered the suspension geometry (possibly leading to uneven tire wear) and destroyed the ride (which isn't exactly supple to begin with). - Changing steering wheel: you now have a different sized airbag than the car was designed for, you just deleted your steering wheel stereo controls, and now you have leather that can't be cleaned as well as the original urethane. - Mirrors: To each his/her own, but why put swoopy aero mirrors on a box? Just looks out of place to me. Just my two cents. Not trying to be a wet blanket. Just wanted to offer a little reality check. But then maybe I'm just too old.

My favorite mod is changing the oil. Lol I haven't modded my '06 (aside from an axxion short throw shift link) but she's at 195,000mi and still reliable! I love this little toaster! People always get surprised that it's a manual and when they feel how short the throw actually is there's always a smile and some excitement 😁! Keep up the good work!
Lol I just bought one yesterday and I put in some Bosch iridium plugs, Quaker full, synthetic oil and brand new starter. The previous guy didn’t change the oil much so this car is going to be happy as I change my Subarus oil every 2,000 miles and on the Scion I plan to change it every 3,000 or so.
I've had a stock Xb since 2006. It's only in the last year or so that I've started actually modding it (inspired by my niece modding her gigantic truck). I've replaced the stock radio, the head, tail and side turn signal lights,, interior light, A/C mid-console LEDs, and installed a front tower stabilization bar. Going to do the Big 3 upgrade and powered subwoofer soon. So far, the most surprising upgrade was the stabilization bar. It's really amazing how much that bar improved the handling, particularly on long curves. And it was such a relatively cheap upgrade. It would've been even cheaper had I been able to install it myself, but I couldn't quite fit it over the bolts myself. :(
I just bought a 2005 Scion xB yesterday but the only thing I would mod is wheels and maybe lower it but that’s it as it has no power and is just great for A to B driving.
Thanks for the video man, Love how you always smile and are very enthusiastic! those mods are sick!I just bought a scion Scion Xb 2004 (191000) and here are my first 6 mods. 1. Spray painted the top front grill and emblem matte black. 2. Spray painted the stock hubcaps matte black 3. Put a Costco back up camera Bluetooth on the back license plate cover. 4. Spray painted matte black the XB emblem and Scion emblem on the back door(that black on white pops pretty good! 5.New black steering wheel cover from Ross. 6. I put the same visor /rain guards that you have on your car on mine. Love the way they look.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Thanks Brandon, my favorite of your five mods is how you lowered it 3 inches. My car is an automatic, will it make any difference if I put a cold air intake system on it?

Haha I’m seriously going to buy one.
Not true. You should have seen how this was when I bought it. Previous owner had it slammed to the ground. He lived in North Carolina and drove it daily like that for a couple of years. I lived in NJ for 30 years and every car I have ever owned has been lowered. You have to know how to drive a lowered car. Once you get approach angles and things, it's easy and can be driven daily in any state in this country. Thanks for watching.

The turn signal portion never worked even though it was wired in by the previous owner. They're not in the greatest condition, and definitely need a coat of paint. In case anyone is interested.

Looking forward to the bonus episode next week, hopefully I won't be anywhere as busy as this week so I can get that "first" on the comments. Great stuff brother, where's the tank at!?

Number one thing for me was my luggage rack, you can strap almost anything on top of that car with a good roof rack... and the led dome light so you can actually see inside the car when you turn that dome light on, lol
Yeah, the stock bulb in the dome light is weak. I used to strap two ladders to the roof rack everyday! It really is a nice thing to have. Thanks for watching.

Hi can you send the details on the cold air intake for my 2006 Scion xB I live in California and not sure what route to go with. I really like your set up.
I took the risk and bought a 2006 RS3 xB with 200k miles that has every receipt for an oil change (every 3.5k miles) sense the first owner changed it. She was moving and just wanted to get rid of it to be with her parents. I opened the hood and its OBVIOUS all the little issues that mightve had the possibilty if starting were beyond fixed it has so many brand new damn parts. Granny went all in on it.
Had to replace my starter today. I bought my 05 XB due to it being a lawnmower in a box that I knew I could work on. So I appreciate these mod vids. Just came across yours. I’m looking to increase its “balls,” though, it needs to be a bit faster. Lmao😂
What's up man!! Love your XB videos. I have an 05' and I was thinking about getting an intake for it but I didn't know if I should install one since it's an everyday driver. Any suggestions?
Awesome video! When you run out of material, maybe you should consider a Suzuki Samurai renovation. I’ve had a couple and I’m looking for another one. Kinda fun to work on like the box… Think if it as a mini-me to your new rig!! Lol D-
when the garage door opens,a shot of the XB in the driveway shows a Wider wheel than stock. where did this wheel come from? I'm interested.mine is a 2015.(16")
Just about to get all the parts for the intake mod. Do you have the link for the little blue filter you used? Im also looking for a decent exhaust setup. They are soooo hard to find online.
When you lowered the car had the ride change stiff and bumpy or is it still feel like a stock Box? I've only had one car that was lower than it was 91 Nissan extra cab on airbags in the back and I'm not sure what they did in the front but it didn't even feel like it was lowered. It drove amazing but you know watch out for driveways and speed pumps etc still
The stock xB feels terrible with the stock suspension. It's god awful. Lowering it greatly improves handling, stopping distance and over all enjoyment. That's why it's so high on the list of importance. Thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I wrecked my back with heavy squats and a car wreck so a highly stiff and bouncy ride isn't an option for me. That's what I meant to buy ride quality if it's going mess with my back.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers nice thanks Noise coming from steering and wander on the road. So I think my rack and pinion is done so I'm going to replace that and might look into doing some suspension upgrades at the same time.
I have a question. I recently installed a k & n air intake on my 04 xB. I didn’t disconnect my battery when I installed it. I didn’t think it was important but now im thinking I needed to to reset the ecu. Should I do it? And if so is there a anti theft I have to worry about? Thanks.
Love my 05 have had her 10 years and she gives me no problems. We just had a major flood and I need to gut and replace the molded flooring and I cant find one. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO ORDER to do it myself
Bro it looks dope. I have a navy blue 05 it’s drop I have 18’s on it. What is that head light cover that makes it look like eye lids. If you can post the whole front set up including the grill. Looks right would like that look on mine
I agree with the steering wheel. In fact, I’m probably gonna leather wrap and sell the OEM one to recover some cost. I did the intake mod, but with a 90 degree elbow. However, I had to do Gabe’s update because I was getting codes. I’m wondering if being super short is the issue?🤷♂️
Lol. No. Not only me. More like only you. I know for a fact that my DIY intake has been installed by 100+ subscribers and I only have heard of now two people who have had issues with it. Check for a vacuum leak. It's not a mystery or an engineering mistake. It's an installation error. It's that simple.
I'd check out the intake mod and the "flutter" mod. The rest wouldn't work for me. I have a 2008. The wheel has radio controls on it, so changing all of that would be a hassle. The side mirrors have a flasher on them and I'd keep that (i think it's an excellent little extra safety feature). And dropping a car down from about 5.5" is too low. The 5.5" is already too low. When we get any kind of snow here i have problems already. I'd rather raise it a half an inch if anything.
So, five ways to ruin a great car...;) Not to be outdone, here are my own mods: 1. Wrapped the steering wheel in leather 2. Installed foot well LED lighting strip 3. Installed a dash cam, GPS and HUD 4. Installed a voltmeter 5. Had Rostra cruise control installed 6. Changed the red rear side markers to amber (thanks, Nissan Altima) Bonus: Hit a curb a month ago (got distracted looking at a girl) and had to have the wheel banged back into shape (pays to have steelies!) And I got new aftermarket wheel covers last week that look at least as good as the originals.:)
I've wanted a 1st gen xb ever since I can remember. Got one like a week ago and it is painfully slow. Like I can't reach speed limit on the highway. I went from have an accord with a j30 in it to not reaching speed limit. And it's kinda killing the car for me. I don't want my xb to be a rocket but I just want to actually be able to drive without being on the verge of needing a slow moving vehicle sign on my car ya know...
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I wish it was that easy haha. I'm in canada and there is exactly 2 others for sale in canada that i can find.. they are really rare around here

I love my 2011 xb it is the release series 8.0 and the only thing that irritates me is that after 2010 they stop making custom parts for them and even though the body style is very similar they're different smh....headlights for 2010 don't fit 2011 nor do the taillights....and they have some very nice ones that I wanted but won't fit 😫 I do think that the voodoo blue is one of the coolest blues out though 😁 and I was told 19s is the biggest that would fit well I'm rockin 20s with no problem 😊

Awesome video! When you run out of material, maybe you should consider a Suzuki Samurai renovation. I’ve had a couple and I’m looking for another one. Kinda fun to work on like the box…
Think if it as a mini-me to your new rig!! Lol
D-
The Samurai is one of my favorite cars of all time. It's the first car I saw and said, "I want one of those!" Thanks for watching.
Exlenete información me gustan muchos tus videos saludos 😃
when the garage door opens,a shot of the XB in the driveway shows a Wider wheel than stock. where did this wheel come from? I'm interested.mine is a 2015.(16")
It was custom. The previous owner had the oem steelies banded to create a 15x8.
Have you ever had your heads worked on your Scion xB I want to know a place where I can get my head's ported for my xB
No, but if you are in the Orlando area, hit put CW Pence! Thanks for watching!
Godspeed coil lovers, DC sports intake and muffler anyone?
Can I swap out my front seats with seats front the scion tc there Sporter and has more adjustiability and are manual
I don't think so. I've never seen it done.
Just about to get all the parts for the intake mod. Do you have the link for the little blue filter you used? Im also looking for a decent exhaust setup. They are soooo hard to find online.
Yes, the link for the filter is in this video's description!
Happy you didn’t sell it man! Keep up the good work
Thanks! Will do!
I wish you were more specific about suspension mods.
You’re killin’me Smalls.
I wish you would sub to the channel and search for my suspension videos. I only made 60+ xB videos. Lol
Link for the mirrors? Can't seem to find them or they claim to be for bmw
Old comment but I second this
When you lowered the car had the ride change stiff and bumpy or is it still feel like a stock Box?
@@BARBELLS-AND-BUDS I still say get some CX Racing coilovers (I did a video on them) and you'll be happy. They aren't bouncy.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers nice thanks
Noise coming from steering and wander on the road.
So I think my rack and pinion is done so I'm going to replace that and might look into doing some suspension upgrades at the same time.
@@BARBELLS-AND-BUDS You probably just need new tires and an alignment.
What are the offsets on those Wheels? I'm looking for some that tires sit flush with the fenders
@extremedailydrivers where did you get the side Decals? They look awesome!
I did a video on it. Check out my xB Playlist. Thanks for watching.
I have a question. I recently installed a k & n air intake on my 04 xB. I didn’t disconnect my battery when I installed it. I didn’t think it was important but now im thinking I needed to to reset the ecu. Should I do it? And if so is there a anti theft I have to worry about? Thanks.
Yes, disconnect it.
What exhaust
DME
Love my 05 have had her 10 years and she gives me no problems. We just had a major flood and I need to gut and replace the molded flooring and I cant find one. ANY IDEAS ON WHAT TO ORDER to do it myself
Hit up your local junkyard. Good luck.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers i just took it out. We are by the beach and the sand clean up is better than ever. 🤣🤣🤣
@@NB-se8ge That works too!!
Bro it looks dope. I have a navy blue 05 it’s drop I have 18’s on it. What is that head light cover that makes it look like eye lids. If you can post the whole front set up including the grill. Looks right would like that look on mine
It's a FFF. It's custom made. They aren't around anymore.
Excellent...
At time stamp 2:30, you mention CX Racing Mirrors from eBay, any more details as far as part numbers, etc?
I did a video on them. Sub to the channel and search my xB playlist. I have made over 60 videos on the xB.
Where could I get eyelids or an fff for my mk1 Scion xB, I’ve been looking forever.
It's custom. You won't find one. Thanks for watching.
Hi, whats the head unit your are using?
Hikity. I did a video on it. Just search the channel. Thanks for watching.
So they do not makes these anymore...?...what NEW car is similar? Kia Soul?
If you ask me, nothing. Thanks for watching.
No issues for me!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers that’s weird. Only you.
Anyway, I got the Weapon R intake and I’m waiting for the 1.8l Geo Prizm TB to arrive.
Lol. No. Not only me. More like only you. I know for a fact that my DIY intake has been installed by 100+ subscribers and I only have heard of now two people who have had issues with it. Check for a vacuum leak. It's not a mystery or an engineering mistake. It's an installation error. It's that simple.
Daily driver has it right as a mechanic I can assure you it's a vacuum leak.
The 1st Gen xB and 2nd Gen have nothing in common, besides the name. I'm sure none of this will apply to you. Thanks for watching.
Where did you buy it the roof cargo and rack?
Amazon. I did a video on it.
SALUDOS DESDE TIJUANA
Pedals are too short for me
So, five ways to ruin a great car...;) Not to be outdone, here are my own mods:
1. Wrapped the steering wheel in leather
2. Installed foot well LED lighting strip
3. Installed a dash cam, GPS and HUD
4. Installed a voltmeter
5. Had Rostra cruise control installed
6. Changed the red rear side markers to amber (thanks, Nissan Altima)
Bonus: Hit a curb a month ago (got distracted looking at a girl) and had to have the wheel banged back into shape (pays to have steelies!) And I got new aftermarket wheel covers last week that look at least as good as the originals.:)
7. Driving lessons. 😂🤣 Gotta learn how to multitask, Dude!!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Yeah, right.
Found my blox set up but have no idea what size to choose for the neck to order. Can someone please lmk so I can order and get started on this
Watch the DIY Intake video! All parts are in the description. Good luck!
Show us some pics of your mini trucking days
Will do!
your air filter must suck in hot air at this level, right?
Check out my custom intake video for the answer. Just search the channel. Thanks for watching.
What is your wheels specs and offset and tires because I keep seeing 15x8 +20 perfect ?
Search my channel under the xB Playlist. I did a video on the wheels. Thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers yea thanks bro I seen the wheels they are dope so iam guess + 20 sits closer to the fenders and I see your in Florida me to 😎
Lots went into this fitment. I did videos on everything.
What exhaust did you have on that bad boy?
DME Thanks for watching.
If you got an auto, sell it. If you got a manual, watch my other videos on how to make this car scoot! Thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I wish it was that easy haha. I'm in canada and there is exactly 2 others for sale in canada that i can find.. they are really rare around here
@@mikaela8135 Buy one down here in Florida and import it. They are everywhere down here.
I added the intake and I am having a hard time getting it to fit. I purchased all the same parts you had posted on your original video so I not sure why it's not fitting right
Did you get the Yaris battery?
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers yes even got the battery
I have a 2015 xb and want do get a roof rack.. where can I get one..
Watch my roof rack video to find out!
I just did the steering wheel on mine need to rewrap it but I love it. Mines sadly an auto but i also have a Miata so the xb is the daily now
You have an excellent choice in cars. 👌
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers couldn’t be happier with the duo xb hasn’t let me down in 3+ years of owning it and Miata is fun street legal go kart. Was sad to see you sell the xb that gave me so many ideas for mine. Regardless still great content 👍
Do you know what's the biggest wheel size that fits on the scion xb?
As big as you can dream.
Where did ypu get your decals?
They are custom.
What size is the crank shaft breather?

If i had this car i would paint this into dj from cars.
Thank God you don't have this car.
@@ExtremeDailyDriversguess who has a nissan cube.
Me.
Can you post a link to the mirrors I can't find them
They are discontinued. You can't find them. Thanks for watching.
Life with a 3d printer has never been better for bs mods. Printed intake for less that 3 dollars. Besides filter.
My favorite mods 1. add factory fog lights. 2. change factory fog lights to running lights and add low fog lights of factory switch. 3. lift xb. 4. remove lower skirting
oh and adding the pioneer touch screen head unit with usb/aux in next to it.
What air intake do you have? Any pointers for it?
It's a DIY. I did a video on it. Just search the channel. Thanks for watching.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers Just watched that, thank you. My stock CAI is keeping moisture, causing stalls and hydro locking. The bypass isn't doing its thing. I've got a 2005 RS2.0 73 of 2500. Trying to keep is in good shape.
This guy looks like everyone.
It's the TH-cam uniform. Thanks for watching.
SHOUT OUT TO SCOTCH AND IRON!!!!! I have been wearing his stuff for years and am in his new Petrol Burn subscription service!
I love their stuff. Absolute quality. Thanks for watching!
For some reason I cannot find these mirrors anywhere? Where can I get a set?
They are discontinued. Good luck and thanks for watching.
How do you keep it from burning so much oil
It never burned a drop. That's all about maintenance.
I got one of these for my kids 16th bday, hope he is gonna like it
@@Brian-fp3mh they're very reliable👍🏼
What are your rear headrests out of?
Scion TC
Hola amigo yo condusco una Scion XB en Guatemala y aqui se utilizan coml Taxi Saludos
I did the intake but I an check engine light that I can not get ride of.
You have a vacuum leak somewhere. It's a very simple setup, you'll find it sooner or later.
I'm experiencing a throttle flooder on my 2009 Scion XB does anybody know how I can fix that, It's not quite sure what that filter you pointed to in the video does...
