I used it to move out of my old apartment. Took my dresser, boxes and flat screen all in one trip. ..also threw my full size mattress on top. It's my daily driver and my work vehicle since I do interior handy work. Reliable , good on gas , I love this car.
I’m looking at a 2008 Gold Rush Mica Release Series with 170k miles/ there asking price/ I was able to bring down to $5,250/ I’m still hesitant/ but it does look clean/ well taken care of
@@djgettsom7879 Big fan of Gen I Scion cars, but 2008 is Gen II I believe, so bigger engine IIRC 2.4 vs 1.5, bigger body, lower MPG, more power, but still Toyota Reliability.
Love my 2005 xB with 5-speed. Black also like the car reviewed. 243K and going strong! Just did front brakes and next need to replace the front struts.
I miss my 2005 XB 😢. It was starting to rust out and requiring too much work to keep going you’re in 🇨🇦. I tried to get it back on the road, but it wasn’t meant to be. I’d like to pick up another one, but they are extremely hard to come by… Especially in a manual transmission! The automatic is too sluggish
A couple of minor details that Ben left out. 1. Mitsubishi vents 2. 2006.5 ONLY steering wheel BTW, there are still some OEM accessories that you can get from the dealership. I just picked up stainless steel xB door sill plates from Toyota and TRD oil cap. I just bought my ‘06 in March and it just crossed 77k. I have many of the same or similar customizations. He needs the Matrix/Vibe wiper stalk though Nice box 👍
And that 5 speed manual makes all the difference in the world. I have never seen one of these with the Weapons intake manifold performance piece, headers, computer chip . etc.. I'm sure those would unleash the little teeny weeny beast in the 1.5. Go Scion.
I have the WeaponR intake and OBX 4-2-1 header. Also the aluminum crank pulley and a shorty ram intake with the Blox cone filter. “Chips” aren’t really a Toyota thing (you have to ship your ecu off to be reflashed), so you can’t reasonably dial your ride in that way. What I’m working on right now, is tuning the MAF sensor for a larger housing, with a piggyback module.
@@ToolsOutsideTheBoxThe obvious questions- 1. No damage to the engine with the performance Mods? And is the power gain more low end or mid-high end torque increase? Is the difference slight or quite apparent? Thank you.
I am a little late to the toaster party here, but dang i soooooo want one of these first gens. I love the quirkiness of them and the reliability is pretty much second to none for boxy boiz. Once my tranny goes on my focus I just might get one, probably a high mileage manual one but still a toaster tho.
There's another cup holder between the front seats in the back of the center consol. You can push a thermos into the holder and the plastic is slightly flexible and it holds.
I have that exact same OBD2 thingy. It's awesome cuz it can scan codes , clear codes but mainly gives me the temp of the engine cuz this doesn't have a temp guage
I still don't get the rear "wiper delete" thing. What the hell is wrong with a rear wiper? It's not bothering anyone. And, that glaring silver plug looks like shit too.
Helped a friend move a couple times with mine, fit a full sized washer and dryer SET inside with all doors and windows closed. Just bought my second one, 04 dark blue manual with 175k. First one was also dark blue, but an 06 and automatic.
PApa I need your help In my scion XB 2006 My AC stop working And I installed a new AC compressor I did the vacuum and Freon but The compressor is not kicking ok Any ideas please Thank you!
I'm a Toyota car enthusiast but the Echo and XB and Yaris are not of my taste. The Front end of the first Generation XB is rather weird looking, the center dash instrument cluster gauges feels out of place rather then it being behind the steering wheel.
I own a 2006 RS3 Envy green XB and have camped in the back numerous times. There's actually many people that have turned their XBs into stealth campers. Thinking about turning mine into one haha
The cars are so underpowered they can't get out of their own way with a full tank, it's not a joke I've owned an xb for a while and I always dread filling the tank.

One of the best cars you can get for a budget . I got two of these live in one . And both have 400k no issues.
Wow!! 400k miles?

A real gem. My 2006 is a beater, but still rocking.
I think they will always be loved by the ones who love them.
Yesss keep the Scion content coming!!!! 👌🏼
Ayeeeee
Man I love the description, as a soon to be owner of a release 2.0 from '05 made me feel more connected to the car
230K miles and still going strong.
I have (3) Gen1 xB s and xB trailer. I have started stock piling parts to keep my xB s rolling. A complete engine, maintenance parts, fenders, wheels.
Awesome. What’s an XB trailer?

Dope review on a forgotten gem!!
Don’t care about the modified parts as long as I can still buy oem parts and maintain and keep it running for 500k miles.

And that carbon fiber dash peice was factory! It was an oem extra cost option for 2004-2006 models
So glad I didn’t get a Toyota Corolla and got this instead 🌚
Now I know why everyone calls these "toasters".
Plain and simple they look like a toaster. The only response you would have if you drove one
Had two of them. Best little car. Should have kept them.
If Toyota/Scion put the 1nz 130hp motor in it Scion would still be around.
The 1St Generation Scion XB's should be regarded as a collector item. They are also they only Car with that much Cargo room using a 1.5L engine
I have an envy green scion xB with 300000 miles and the original clutch. It runs great but does need a paint job. I bought it new and l love this car.
I have two Rs3 , cheers mate, sell it to me if you ever get bored of it.

My 2006 Nardo Grey Xb that I painted is my baby.

Love my box i got to fit a 75 inches tv in the box 📦 that was crazy 😜
300k still going strong
I still love the Bb badge.. lol
There's XB car clubs all over the states,my club is called,ScionLifeStyle Car Club in Houston Texas👍
How do you go about joining?

Costs $20 to fill the tank. It’s so nice
Came here from a video about the Japan Domestic Market Toyota ProBox
I heard rumors that this car can go up to 400,000 miles. Another person told they had 420,000 miles before he totaled it.
Mine has over a quarter of million miles 250,000 and counting, and still keep driving it
Scion xb espacioso buena mecánica económico agradecido caminan bien Toyota como siempre

Great car Scion XB . 05 one Owner me❤
So cool!

Water doesnt stick back there and it rattles a little bit. Some people put the wiper at a different angle as well. Its mostly just about looks.
Nice review. Can you do a review on the 8th gen civic si
Unfortunately, rust has taken a lot of these from us. I miss mine all the time
Still have mine 180k strong 💪🏽
Still have mine 266,000 miles and rust free. Driving it in the dry Arizona heat, keeps it rusty free.
I remember feeling “lonely” when sitting in the backseat of xB for the first time.
Fit a full size loveseat in mine, hundreds of trips with bricks, boutta throw a bed in the back, makin it a van 🚐, on 18’s and coils of course.
Helped a friend move a couple times with mine, fit a full sized washer and dryer SET inside with all doors and windows closed. Just bought my second one, 04 dark blue manual with 175k. First one was also dark blue, but an 06 and automatic.

Anyone remember Tokyo Xtreme racer zero? The xb was a wanderer
YES ! CENter tach like an echo!!! I hate center stacks... I'd retro fit my own dash... Sw20?
I have a 2006 xb been looking for a rear wing. Could you help me out please. I also want a tower brace. Can't find either
Keep an eye out on Amazon and eBay.
They sell fast
@@ToolsOutsideTheBox thanks. I been looking but no success yet

Where can you get that after market gauge set.Who makes it

It will be daman people are waking up on the box after so many years
What the obd2 what? I need that to show me my Rev and mph
Guys, what is the best scion forum to join? Thanks

Where do get custom parts.
The train has left the station... As far as Toyota nation
Where are you located. I may have a car for you to review if you are near Savannah Georgia.
Chicago but I go to Georgia frequently for work so email me! PradelReviews@gmail.com
"camped in the back of an XB" sureeee 😅

That thing is dirty! Could've detailed it beforehand.
Get some Gas homeboy , ur almost empty

Manually transmitted, lotsa fun under 60 mph. Auto? No. Not at all.
Take those fake wheels it’s just sad…….you what take all fake parts off
Take an English class.
Those wheels are clean...stop 🛑
