I recently just bought a v6 mustang I have upgrade it pretty good doesn’t look like a v6, butt my exhaust is stock.. I see all these v6 with exhaust and they sound wack.. but yours in the other hand sounds pretty good👏
That's kind of a loaded question. I didn't do the whole exhaust all at once. It started out with just the Mac dual exhaust conversation kit, which had been on the car since 2014. Then in 2017 I deleted the secondary cats on the stock midpipe and a month later shorty headers. It was a mod as I went along kind of deal.

May i ask why you added the 94-98 stock 3.8 headers to this new edge? We’re you having issues with your headers (common exhaust leak on 99-04 models). Were they direct bolt on or needed minor modification required? Last question might just sound ignorant lol

@@streetstallion That's strange. I though the manuals didn't have a lower neutral rev limit stock. Before I swapped it to a 5 speed and got it tuned, it had a 4k rev limit in park/neutral. They discontinued it for this car some time ago. It's disappointing because it was the perfect sound. I'm back here again looking at old videos and through comments trying to locate the mufflers that were used in it so I can make my own.
Sounds good but I wouldn’t put money into a v6, i just took the catback off and it sounds the same as yours lol. For the amount you put into your exhaust you could swap in a junkyard v8 and have it really sounding like a muscle car. Nice car tho!
Thanks man, but I guarantee you it doesn't. I've ran this car without the catback, just an open y-pipe and it's a totally different sound than it is now. Maybe you're right, maybe I am foolish to dump money into a v6 but I love this car to death. This was my first car and is been my daily driver ever since(2013). I've only put $600 into the exhaust. I'm not sure what kind of v8 I could have swapped into it for that much, plus transmission/driveshaft/ECU and all else that's needed to make it run. Also that v8 would have needed a custom exhaust too lol. But thanks for the compliment, and I do plan on buying a v8 Stang eventually but who can argue when this car gets 30+ mpg on the highway haha.

Thank you. Well because those headers are better, simply put. Those are designed as an actual header(3 runners into a collector) and are better flowing vs the log style manifolds on the 99-04s. They're essentially shorty headers. Also aren't prone to cracking either like the 99-04s manifolds.

And it's not cut out in the vehicles rear end it's just below it, if I want to install a double exhaust, do I have to cut out like half holes in the back or what? How does yours look like that? Ya can still do dual exhaust without cutting bumpers, most people will get a gt bumper for the cutout look, but my car came with a magnaflow dual cat back and still has the stock bumper with no cutouts, the exhaust tips just hang a little lower

What exactly do you need to shoot small flames? I have dual thrush welded mufflers and they're really loud. No x-pipe or anything.. only thing I have done to my 3.8..
I honestly don't know. Other than no cats and running rich having extra fuel in the exhaust. It's not set it up to shoot flames, it kinda just happened. I was surprised haha.

No. The secondary o2 sensors were turned off via tune. But I still have the main cats so I wouldn't have gotten a check engine light anyways. Only the secondary cats are deleted.
Are these V6 new edges reliable? I'm looking at a few in the 100-130K mile range and they're decently priced. Do the motor/tranny last? How many miles can they go up to if all maintenance are done regularly and taken care well of? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
They're pretty reliable when you maintain them and take care of them. I've seen tons go to 200k plus miles. This car currently has 273k miles on the original engine and still seems very healthy(see my recent 0-60 video). I can sort of attest to the transmission's reliability. I still had the original automatic trans, and it was working perfectly when I pulled it to swap in the 5 speed manual. The transmission had 250k when pulled. Now this is just my experience, but like I said, I've seen tons go 200k plus.

Coming from a v6 new edge, mine had 150k miles, the tranny is solid bulletproof & so as the engine, as long as you keep doing the basic maintenance you should be good

And $40 for the headers(pair) found at the junk yard off the stock 94-98 3.8 Mustangs. I did this over time, piece by piece. If I had to do it all over again, doing a full exhaust all at once, I'd probably just take it to an exhaust shop, have them cut the exhaust off after the main cat, run straight pipes into two mufflers with chrome tips. It'd be a lot more cheaper, but wouldn't sound as good as my current setup imo.

The secondary cats. They're the long ones that run parallel to the ground. Well it cost me about $40 because that's how much the exhaust tubing costed. I cut and welded it all myself with my sawzall and welder. If I had to guess, an exhaust shop would charge somewhere around $100-200

There's no real link I can give. I got them from a junk yard. These are stock from 94-98 mustang v6s, which came from the factory with stock shorty headers.
I made a cardboard template for the cutouts and made sure it was in the right spot I wanted it, and that they were both even. Then I made multiple traces around it with a needle to break through the paint to the actual bumper so I would have a clean edge once the bumper material was removed. After that I roughly cut it out with a pair of tin snips, about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch away from the scored line. Then I slowly cut slivers of the bumper away with a sharp razor blade till I got to the scored line.

I've been meaning to do one since I got my new 275 tires on the rear. I do have a 20-75 video on my channel. I started at 20mph since with my old tires, it would do nothing but spin all through out 1st gear if I launched it.
A lot of people are seeing them. I've shown my friends to see if they could see them, and they do. I'm not sure why some of y'all can't see them. Granted they are mini bright orange flames, but they are there.
Yea i didnt see flames either and i watched it over and over. Looked more like some water being spat out from the condensation build up in the exhaust.
@@stevenlopez5832 Trust me, they're there. They're light orange and only for a couple of frames of the video. They're kinda hard to make out through the condensation and they're small, not two feet long.

Yes. There should be four cats. The secondary cats are the longest ones that run parallel to the ground.

No, only thing that could throw a code is the secondary cat delete. But I have it tuned for that.
How are those lowering springs treating you?
Pretty good actually. My only complaint is it still sits a little higher than I'd want, but at least the camber wear isn't that bad.

Yea i didnt see flames either and i watched it over and over. Looked more like some water being spat out from the condensation build up in the exhaust.
@@stevenlopez5832 Trust me, they're there. They're light orange and only for a couple of frames of the video. They're kinda hard to make out through the condensation and they're small, not two feet long.
