There is nothing on this earth that can diminish my pride in being an African.

The greatest speech ever.
I saw this ad about 12 years ago when Mandela was still alive and South Africa had won the right to host FIFA world cup. That ad included scenes from the FIFA ceremony and Mandela's joy of South Africa's win. Even without that, the eloquence of President Mbeki and video's power was as such that it brought tears of hope & joy to my eyes. It still can bring tears to my eyes but I am not full of hope any more. Mandela is gone, Mbeki had to resign and in his place is Zuma and South Africa's future and Mandela's legacy are in great danger. Does it still feel good to be an African?

I am not proud of the deeds of man and the anger and the hate bred by them. I am not proud of discrimination, corruption and the destruction of our wildlife for money. I am not proud of the manipulation, ignorance and the pain and suffering that it has brought our people. If money is the root of all evil then our government is becoming more evil by the day... But man I am PROUD to be an African and I will never give that up.
