I used to watch the episodes when I was a kid, and decades later was thrilled when I accidentally came across them on the Tech TV (?) channel, and my granddaughter was in the room and said "Oh, I want to watch that!" She became a fan of the series.
I remember watching this when I was a kid back then we thought that was really something compared to today's technology it was way behind but to us who watches every Saturday morning it was the bomb
I always thought when I was a kid watching these episodes and they boarded their units, "what was wrong with walking?" but the sequences were cool though coupled with music.
I was a very small boy then! I watched these and I was filled with awe, bcoz it looked real and it was a serious and not comedy show. Now I'm old!!! This looks like robot chicken 😨.
If any of you have played Star Citizen, you'll probably note that the Crusader Hercules C2 was inspired by Thunderbird 2. Although the C2 isn't modular like T2, it's primary purpose is transporting vehicles or just hauling cargo.
I’d really like to know what engine sound effects they used for the pod vehicles. I can certainly hear Perkins diesels in the elevator cars (and some others). Some Gardner diesels, but some others I’m not familiar with. Of course I’d love to know what they used for Thunderbird 2 engines/jets/turbines.
Always thought TB 2 was the most credible of the fleet: the fuselage camber could provide additional lift, and the cargo pods make perfect sense. My only issue was the “rollers” used for the undercarriage-no ground clearance, no “ground effect”. Otherwise, I’d be happy to fly it, as long as I didn’t have to wear that uniform.
Wait I just thought of something. After a mission if the slide retracts into the villa. How does Virgil's chair stay in place when it isn't attached to anything?
I imagine Elon watched these as a child, as did many others in the business. Along with Robert Heinlein, this is part of the lore that sent many of us pushing to make it real.
The USAF actually tried out a plane that worked like Thunderbird 2, but it wasn't big enough for serious military cargo, and was dangerously unflyable with no cargo container. Nice try tho.
1965 i was 8 yrs. old This was So Cool. Love the Soundtracks of TBs. (smile)
When I was a little kid I'm fascinated by it every day.
This is a great TV futuristic in the 1970s !!
This reminds me how much patients peoples are back in those days, everything was just slow and peaceful.
Where people produced quality works, now everyone are expected to take "shortcuts".
Yeah I heard Vietnam was slow and peaceful back then
Patience

Our child hood favourite tv show
LOVED the Thunderbirds!!! And #2 was the coolest!!!
A True Lost Artform Watched this as a kid in the 60's

A mis 52 años gracias por traerme hermosos recuerdos
In those good old days
my favorite thunderbirds!!👍
Meu Deus ! Tudo da minha infância era MELHOR !! TUDO !!! ❤❤❤
Ah, the Thunderbirds theme. It's always a joy and a delight.
Gotta love all the black carbon smoke
I've been waiting for the film as a child
I found this Thunderbird movie and series stuff fascinating as a three year old in 1967 when they'd be on US TV.
OK? What's the point of your comment ?
There is some great shots here. Thanks for posting.
Thunderbird 2 is a great airplane.
INACREDITAVELMENTE GENIAL!!
Very rare seeing the rear door on the pods. Most people (me included) only thought there was a front door.
Starships are GO! :-)
I love it it's so hokey!
Now we know what the SeaBeas are building on Guam!
They must have a lot of Smog in that time period!
It was basically a ballistic rocket 🚀 lol 😆

Heck of the works!
Menudos recuerdos
i wonder how the legs in this real thunderbird model work
Nossa eu adorava isso ❤ 🇧🇷

Well, that what Futurama spaceship was inspired by...
Starting at the speed of a bicycle drive, interesting…

James Cameron might see this its like Aliens dropship scene

How many vehicles can fit in T2????
Wait I just thought of something. After a mission if the slide retracts into the villa. How does Virgil's chair stay in place when it isn't attached to anything?
Did anyone ever just walk into the cockpit? :)
I thought he was going to the bedroom.

If Elon watched this, he probably wondered how he could steal the credit for it.
Elon Musk could make everything in this clip real.

Wonder ....did they sell the props when the show is over?

How lazy do you have to be to just slide all the way to your flight seat lol?
It's the future
America F yeah coming again to save the mother.... wait, wrong movie.
