This video could be shortened to about 3-4 minutes without all the commentary and repetitiveness. But is was very helpful.

Thanks so much. I just got my Highlander and hadn’t realized the problem getting into the third row. Toyota’s designers really messed up on the design of this car. Hopefully videos like yours will bring it to their attention. You are such a nice guy for taking the time to show us how to fix the problem. I wish I had friends like you. 😀👍🍺

Thank you so much for your kind words!! 😊 I'm glad viewers are finding my videos helpful. My personal mission is to help people as much as I can while providing honest and transparent experiences. That way viewers can make their decisions based on their needs and priorities. Because often or not some of these minor design flaws can make significant differences depending on application. Thanks again. Have a great day!!

Amazing! Thanks for sharing. My 12 year old hates climbing over the cup holder.

You're welcome! Thanks for watching. I can only imagine. My 5 and (soon to be) 8 year old ones are having a field day now after I removed our middle cup holders. It's probably one of the best "mods" I did to our Highlander so far. 😊

I agree. I don't know what Toyota was thinking with the cup holders. I hope they will change this in the future.

I hope so too. It wouldn't probably bother anyone if it was on a 2 row SUV. However, for 3 row SUV that middle pass through is quite important. Most people are probably going to be utilizing it as the primary access way into the 3rd row than sliding the 2nd row seats. Thank you for watching!!

Amazing work! Can we also put a temporary seat in this gap to make it one bench seat? Or can we actually swap captain seats with bench seat, if you have any idea?

Thank you! From what I was told by few Toyota dealerships that it is not possible to replace captain's seats with a bench seat without making modifications. According to them seat rails and tracks are completely different. I wish it was possible, because that was something I've been wanting to do as well. However, few dealerships confirmed it already that it's not possible unfortunately. I hope Toyota will consider offering that at least as an option as it did with previous generation Highlander. Thanks for watching!

hahahah because of the cupholder i went with the bench seat. wish i had watched this video before but still good for people with captain chair.

Thanks for your input. It would've been nice if Toyota kept the option of offering bench seats as an option like it did with previous generation Highlander. But it wasn't a deal breaker for us. It was a bit annoying at first to deal with that cup holder situation. However, once I figured out how to remove it it's been a smooth sail ever since. 😊

A lot of rambling in the vid. Save yourself some time , start video at 6min and increase speed to 1.25 or 1.50, add captions.

My wife's new 2023 Highlander came in yesterday and I am so dissapointed in it. I can't believe they left the cupholders fixed between the seats where kids need to pass through. The interior feels much cheaper than our 2018 Highlander. Not happy they did away with the V-6 either. It also came missing the tow package that we had ordered and to add it after the fact is twice as expensive. Toyota has gone downhill in my view. Very dissapointed.

I totally understand your disappointment. Unfortunately with all modern trends and EPA requirements that are taking place it was just matter when (not if) Toyota would follow suit with these changes…

@@SOBIsHobbies true. Where does it stop though? Pretty soon they will tell us that the only acceptable or 'approved' mode of transportation is a peddle bike. 😕

The seats in my 2024 move forward and the back goes forward for access to the third row.. Was that different last year?? I don't see why anyone would be forced to step through the middle of the seats..
