    I visited a Muji store in London West End. It's the sort of place you come out of having bought far more than expected.
    I bought loose leaf paper (I'm a ring binder person). The paper was v smooth. But the paper was made in Vietnam not Japan!!! And the paper feathered my fountain pen and bled through to the other side!
    On another matter Martin I think you said you don't use fountain pens because they are expensive. But it is possible to buy a Jinhao 100 for example for around £10 and that is an excellent pen. Ink will be £6-8. Which is great value to experience a fountain pen gliding over the paper.

      Muji has a store?! I might have to pay that a visit next time I'm in London! Yes, I noticed the book was produced in Indonesia. I guess it's a bit like Fender producing guitars in Mexico and Japan. I've put what you said about fountain pens on the back burner; something to think about... 🤔 Thanks!

Just started doing morning pages, and I am definitely going to be coming back to this once I fill up my first composition book. I decided to use my old exercises books and fill them to the last pages. Some of them twenty, thirty years old, but still usable. I started using some of them before we bought our first computer. The one I'm using these days says VICTORY Exercise Book 320 page. And on the back cover, Commonly used computer terms: Application, Alphanumeric, Algol, Basic, Baud, Binary... with explanations. It also says Made in China. My first entry, February 2000, Notes regarding Linux operating system, Internet pages, nature, Permaculture and creativity. I kid you not. 😃 So, that's my lot. Looks like I'm still at it. 😉 Have a great day and thanks for the nice video. 👍

      Love the fact that you've dated it. I have a thing about dates and times. I didn't always date things and sometimes when I look back that's disappointing because I can't tell exactly when it was. Now I date everything! Thanks for the positive comment, too 🙏

    For B5 format my favourite this far is a rather expensive Burde notebook with a pocket at the back, bookmark and one of those elastic thingies that keeps it closed.

    Fantastic Mark. I love a pencil to write with, and being left-handed, I don't smudge the page with a pencil either. The Muji book seems to be a great size and fit for me, and to have one over the next few weeks will also include our camping holiday to Cornwall. Bonus!

    “The Blackwing feels much nicer…” That’s because the Uni was an entirely different grade. As in lead hardness. Yes, soft lead feels much softer. (Blackwings are just rebranded kitaboshis, the same pencils Muji sell minus the finish.)

      Thanks. I like the Mitsubishi pencils. The white Blackwing is just too soft for me, other Blackwings too expensive to try!

    I'd love the muji notebook and a lovely blackwing pencil. All I can say is I will use both to reveal my life's meaning 😜. Well, that may be overstated-- at least to bring to light some of my deepest thoughts and urgent messages. On pondering -- I can only reasonably concede that it will be used. - Lue in Michigan.

    I should be the lucky recipient of the Muji notebooks because then my husband would have to take the dog out first in the morning. I’d have the beautiful and perfect response to his question ‘who’s turn is it to do the dog?’ I would say, ‘sorry darling I’m doing my morning pages’.
    Yes I know it’s not fair but I usually have all my best ideas first thing when I’m walking the dog and I can’t walk and write. At least not yet.

    I should really get the notebook and a pencil because my current notebook that I use for my morning pages is about to reach the last page in about ten days. And the one I’m using is so thick and small. So at the beginning I used the previous notebook (which is muji) to put underneath my hand to level it. (Excuse my English). And I love pencil. But may be I should’t get the pencil because I already have some. You should give it to someone who’s in need. 😊

    Random question, but can you please measure the height/spacing (mm) between the lines and lmk how much it is 😃

    • @sketchley

      I’m a fountain pen user, too. How did the paper cope?

    • @eleanor.shadow
      @eleanor.shadow 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@missworm absolutely perfect! I'm currently using a Pilot Capless with a M nib on it and the paper takes in the ink super well, no ghosting. Plus, it also absorbs quickly, so I can turn the page and keep writing without having to blot or wait 😀
