I realized my most constructive thinking happens when I lay in bed at night, when nothing distracts me. The problem is that I forget a lot of these "great ideas" the next day. Probably sitting at the desk with a pen and paper only would have the same pros without the same cons. The only con might be that it's not as easy to have conditions for it during the day.
I am the same - sometimes, when I am waking I have this weird lucid state where I have amazing ideas and/or I am writing some amazing letter or essay or whatever.... And then, when I try to capture it later in the day - it's gone! Pen and paper by the bed might be the best option...?
Same but when i kept pen and paper or even wrote on mobile, i found later when i read them they were not that wonderful at least most of them, yet its true the blood flow to brain helps a lot, I also guess maybe the brain enters some kind of dream state while laying down where things feel they make sense while they might not be, where creativity is high while rationalizing or critical thinking is not.

I usually write on my tablet with its pen, it has infinite space, I can zoom in, undo, add cute stickers and useful links... But yeah, it never beats the actual pen and paper, specially when taking notes of my studies
@@bear3s Yeah, I've tried them all too. Ipad, various tablets (with and without stylus), Remarkable etc and nothing, and I mean nothing, beats pen and paper!

Very interesting views and good points. I recently made the move back to paper and am currently trying to figure out good 'hybrid' model for myself. The experience of working with paper and written notes certainly has a better imact on our brains and supports a deeper thinking. And, yeah, please try to speak slower - another non-native English speaker here :) Greetings from Poland!
Yes, it is hard to shift completely from digital - here we are now on digital, right?! My challenge has been to slowly rediscover the benefits of pen and paper and this is going to be an increasing focus of my life - this is why I created the channel. I will make every effort to speak more slowly (I am still new to this whole video making gig) and greetings from the UK to Poland! Thanks again for your comment :)
I feel exactly the same way, I love notebooks and writing and I limit my time on the computer as much as possible in a perfect world I would never touch one
@@justpenpaper Your video also made me think about the fact that I get a lot of compliments about my handwriting (yesterday someone was leaving the office so we all wrote on a farewell card and a few team members made a comment or two). I don’t especially try to write in a particular way, I just write (I’m a massive fountain pen fan as well by the way - although I didn’t use one of those on the card!). Seeing that book you showed made me think perhaps most people’s writing is poor because they simply don’t get any practice.
@@kelvinbuchanan1763 Such a good point. Our writing deteriorates as we rarely practice anymore. My handwriting used to be quite nice and it's just been neglected over the years. Determined to reinvent it over the next 12 months and beyond. Handwritten letters and notes provide that extra incentive!
Your presentation subject is interesting but i had difficulty understanding your words because it's too fast and words don't come out right. If i may suggest, talking a bit slower and articulate better each word would be a great help for listeners that do not have British English as a native language.
Understood - I will make an effort to speak at a slower pace next time. I do talk fast when it's a subject that I am passionate about, so thanks for calling me out!
Just slow the video down and use subtitles. Language isn't meant for beginners. It is communication and a slower pace would delay the message. Anyways, you cannot always get what you want, just deal with it.
