Hello and thank you, much appreciated. That's the aim of the channel, letting people know that they can do these jobs at home rather than paying someone else. Thank you for sticking with the channel, time hasn't been on my side recently to do much filming.
Thank you, much appreciated. Yes it really is great looking. Wish I could get the correct end cap for the muzzle to replace the moderator that the previous owner fitted, then it would really look spot on.
nice job mate 👍 now then what i normally do if the holes are scuwiff (ooo eh mrs ) is drill then out to 6 mill and wood glue 2 6mm dowels in the stock sand em down and jobs a good’n then re drill were ever you need saves all that faffing around with flies and drills but i am a lazy sob and i have not got a pillar drill . however same result must say blacking those plate’s definitely improved the look 👍
Thank you, much appreciated. I've got to do the dowel trick on the Mossberg, but I thought it would be easier to modify the plate on this occasion - the material files so quickly. The black coating really makes a big difference, I reckon I will be coating the ones on my other rifles too. All the best, Nick.
Hello, thank you for your comment much appreciated. I usually buy the medium mount, it does seem to be a great all rounder. The lightning is currently behaving itself, when I went through my airguns recently it ended up in the keep pile. Mind you I didn't manage to sell anything... How is yours performing?
@@nickvending9688 thats good to hear the hard work has been rewarded for you, mines done another tin of AA fields and so far i havent seen anything I could class as worrying YET he says, its still doing pretty damn good groups about 5pish size, so far so good
Great, glad to hear yours is doing well. They are good guns, shame mine was knackered when I bought it but that is the risk of buying second hand sight unseen. You'd have thought I would have learnt my lesson by now, but the HW95K proves I still haven't.
@@nickvending9688 ah it keeps ya busy, theres not many people taking a variety of rifles apart, its good to see a mix and not just weirauchs, you may have one of the more detailed mixed tear down channels. I must admit I'm now debating a 95K or going all out on a TX200 seeing as AirArms is only a couple miles from me
I haven't tried a TX200 yet. Always admired them but they are just out of reach for me. Maybe some day. I've not heard anything bad about the TX200, whereas new Weihrauchs are either perfect out of the box or they can suffer from various issues. I've had both experiences, my HW77K was perfect, my HW99S was not.
I'm not aware of BSA discontinuing the Lightning, they still list it on their website. Apologies but I don't have any links for sales in India and BSA don't seem to have a distributor in India.
@@nickvending9688 Thanks for that. So yours weighs 4.2kg (9.2 lbs) with the moderator, scope and buttpad. I have reweighed mine with the scope attached and calculated the difference subtracting the weight of the scope as stated on the Element website. My BSA Lightning with the scope attached weighs 4.04kg (8.92 lbs). The scope is 0.74 kg (1.63 lbs) which means my rifle weighs 3.30 kg (7.29 lbs). It seams the BSA statistics are incorrect which isn't surprising given they also claim the barrel length is 37cm when it is about 26cm. They also claim the over all length is 95cm when it's around 99 to 100cm. I can't understand how and why in this day and age they can't get the simplest of measurements correct. I've also found this to be the case with other manufacturers.
@MrRockstar1968 I wonder if they are giving the same details for the Lightning XL as being for the XL SE too, I'd imagine it would be lighter and shorter but could be wrong. Yep, it's disappointing when the very basic details are wrong.
@@nickvending9688 Out of curiosity I've now checked their website and they have the exact same statistics for the GRT Lightning SE and the GRT Lightning XL SE and also the Spring Lightning SE and the Spring Lightning XL SE. I'm sure gas ram GRT rifles are heavier than the spring rifles. So it looks like whoever done the website has simply copy and pasted the information to all Lightning rifles.
Nice to See You Back Nick 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, nice to be back.
Good to see you back again - nice job. All you have to do now is finish the '95. They are really so good and I'm sure you'll enjoy the end result :)
Thank you, much appreciated.
The 95 was meant to be the next job, however an improvement in the weather meant I was cutting hedges instead.
Well you have just proved that with a little bit of common sense, it's possible to do these simple jobs yourself. Great to see back.

Lovely job. That BSA is a handsome rifle.

Love the videos ,but with all the innuendo’s I feel you need less time in the shed and some quality time indoors , keep up the good work 👍😂😂😂
Thank you, much appreciated. Yes, you are very right there.

What about getting it anodised..or even do a video on home anodising? 😊
🤔 now there's a thought. I'll look into anodising in my workshop.
I fitted a medium sportsmatch set with a 50mm nikko sterling and its perfect height even with lens caps, how ya getting on with it? any new quirks?

Have you weighed you BSA Lightning? BSA claim they weigh "3kg / 6.6lb" though mine weighs about 8.5lb.
