Alfredo Barbosa Like I said, in the announcement trailer for Lawbringer, his weapon was called a poleaxe. I have no idea what the difference between a Halberd and Poleaxe is, I'm just basing it off the fact that the developers clearly intended for it to be seen as a Poleaxe, not a Halberd.
If you consider what he said in the video, that could be possible. He did say the armor belongs to the late 15th century and the matchlock was invented in the 15th century.
+Adrian Briglezan : No worries. Matchlock pistols were a product of cavalry experimenting with firearms in various regions, at that time the matchlock technology has already proven itself on the battlefield used by infantry, which of course had no need of short guns.
Am i the only one who's triggered by a fat boi having more health than a huge, fully plate armored knight? Edit: I know I'm a bit late but Lawbro finally has the highest health in the game! It doesn't ever make a difference or anything, but you know.

Dorian Wróblewski yeah he forgot what the hero's can do in the game and just focused on their armor and their fighting capabilities based on what was used in history
I don't think he has in mind that the character's would have different roles in a real war i think he has in mind of what you see in movies as just one big battlefield where the army's just run up to each other and slaughter each other

Victoria is Latin, Italian is vittoria which is what he says :D So interesting that English kept the Latin "c" while Italian assimilated it into double t. It happens all the time
Vitória in portuguese; English kept how it was, Italian made it more complicated and Portugal just wasn't smart enough to learn how to write it with two t's.

@@DIEGhostfish halberds and pikes were used to stop Calvery charges most of the time, while I can agree that flamberge and zweihanders did a good job of that and were used for that, the claymore (I'm mostly thinking ofnthe Scottish variant because it seems to be the most common) was used up untill (don't judge if I am wrong) untill the fifteen hundreds

Plate armour protects and it allows for the user to have FULL mobility. Ya know, cause they need that to use the weapons utilized. You could very well be thinking of when plate armour had to be thicker to deal with bullets. That made them far heavier. Of course that's coming into a more modern sense instead of a Medieval sense. Which this game places it's setting in.

STRONGEST would probably be Shugoki, Raider, or Lawbringer. The "best" fighter would probably be Lawbringer because best armor and arguably most versatile weapon.
The best part of this is that this list is almost opposite gameplaywise due to how 1) broken some of the characters movelist designs are, 2) how developers of the game admitted to have prefered light fast classes when designing due to the popular belief that being fast is a super advantage over being protected. And so, the crazy bold naked catlady cannibal with an axe and a kitchen knife is the strongest, most OP character in the game right now. Even worse than pre-nerf cent.
Alex Thomson its funny how they didnt learn from the centurion fail and bring up shaman.. compare that dog to the aramusha who was released at the same time with 50% of his moveset being a block stance that does not even work and 50% 1 chain attack that became just easy to figure out after a few weeks.. lol Ubisoft
I think that belief you mentioned comes down to the fact that historically, heavy armor was expensive, so those who couldn't afford it had to rely on speed instead. Translate that to video games and we see that fast characters are typically only marginally weaker and/or less durable than their supposedly stronger and tougher counterparts while being several times faster. This, sadly, while aiming to give the speedy characters a fair chance, only perpetuates the myth that speed is such an advantage.
@@h0m3st4r nope wrong! custom made full plate was expensive, but by the 13c they was mass producing it! although not quite to the scale that mr ford started with his AUTOMATION
That wasn't the claymore featured in For Honor. Mad Jack Churchill used a basket hilt broadsword (which is also called a claymore) and his bow wasn't medieval longbow. I don't know the wieght draw but it looks no more then a 75 lbs draw weight rather then the +100 lbs that English archers used. Also he wasn't in the invasion of Normandy.
I noticed conqueror, whenever he gets a hit in game, will always hit the face. He never actually hits anywhere else unless it's an execution. That's some accuracy for a flail.
Good ol' Daley the knights recruited criminals to refill their ranks, and they got a shield and flail. Only the most elite of these warriors earned the name conqueror, hence "diamond in the rough."
Nuffel Bagget I know, I actually main the conqueror, rep 40i wrote my original comment in a way that would suggest I'm surprised! It's just cool to see.
Well yeah, they have steel armour and iron/steel-made weaponry, What do Vikings and Samurai have? Leather and wooden made armour? Stone and wood made weaponry.
@@Sin1s_ter real vikings did have chain mail and the samurai plate armor, while not as effective as steel, could take sword hits just fine. Poleaxe beats armor though, even steel plate.
Smudge but their armor and the weight of their weapons would slow them down and limit their mobility a perfectly skilled orochi would take any of their heads with easy because they would be too fast
The funny thin is that a Warden refuses a duel at the beginning of the game with a Lawbringer, he states fighting you wouldn't be a duel, it would be a Execution. watch?v=5xmzpd9wZJI So veteran Lawbringers and lawbringers themselves are known in game to be terrifying.
daubeny used warden weapon, warden armor and evensome customisations on it. considerign intro saying he was a quite ranking member of blackstone legion whom have decided to bail out, I'd say it is quite likely he was supposed to be a warden. altho I didn;t pay enought attention to moves he used in combat to tell if he used any warden specific ones.
+Philip Dyer : Daubeny was also described as being a coward, he probably would have said the same to the Conqueror you meet at the next stage. It might also be that this Lawbringer was exceptionally skilled, he said "Fight you?" and not "Fight a Lawbringer?". They seemed to know each other.
As a history buff, I went into this video assuming the law bringer was an obvious first. I am happy to feel validated and for the same reasons as stated in the video. In fact, it is why I made him my main.
I like this analysis. With all of these videos the question has to be the following: Is it a duel or a battle? In a duel, these rankings change in my opinion.
Lawbringer has superior armor and still wields the most versatile weapon, and Im pretty sure the longest if you count the spear tip like end of his polearm.
@@thanhvinhnguyen8731 Metatron is only comparing them in a type of siege situation as in storming a base, having defense against archers and whatnot. That's the sole reason why any character with a shield and helm got high on this list.
Even in a duel lawbringer would dominate so long as his visibilities good enough which it most likely would be as some of his helmets were actually used

Hold up, you make a hell of a point. Wolverine has metal claws. Because they were bones, and his entire skeleton was coated in adamantium. So... Why don't he have metal teeth??
“Shugoki has reasonable strength” meanwhile he is crushing peoples heads in. Edit: I think we can all agree that a lot of these executions would be physically impossible though
Can you imagine the newtons of force you would need to quickly thrust a dagger through that much steel, not break the dagger and keep your limb intact while also only having about a foot of distance to swing that small blade?
There's a huge issue with the conquerer's flail. The chain is longer than the handle! If he misses his target he has a high chance of smashing his fingers!
I know he's not the most practical in-game, and he's actually very hard to play effectively; but I just love Lawbringer. He's absolutely bloody MASSIVE and the intimidation factor of him sauntering around with that giant polearm is unmatched.
The combat system is actually based on system of fighting games and combined with third person. But the game balance right now in short Shaman is OP, but Ireally enjoyed you're list and very good explanation.
Mr Poool shaman, centurion and poison poking nobushis are the ones i have trouble with, centurion needs to have the ability to knock someone down when the have full stamina removed, shamans bloodtrance needs to be removed, and nobushis constant poison spam needs to be removed, other poison spamming players such as pk is so predictable thats its just a joke
Fucking Shinobi, Centurion, Gladiator, and Shaman are ridiculously OP. I play as a Raider, because he looks fucking awesome, and anytime I go up against one of those four I get fucking destroyed. Anyone else I can fuck up pretty good, but if I come across any of those four, even when they have low health, I can't kill them. The Cent just blacks everything then knocks me down, the Shinobi dodges everything and has super fast attacks that kill me before I get in a single hit, the Gladiator also has super fast attacks and blocks everything, and I don't even know how the Shaman kills me because they fucking suck and yet I always die when I face them.
Magic damn right hate people say nerfs nobushi side dash vs a good player parry top light bleed? parried it's easy vs top players there is no mistakes to get confirmed damage
The Lawbringer makes so much sense to use. Heavy armor plating, EVERYWHERE, the person is more physically larger and stronger and his Halberd has range and with its spear point and hacking axe, allow it to be versatile and be able to break armor.
It wouldn't break armour, but the hammer part would damage the person underneath the armour without too much effort, and the spear point is excellent at thrusting through maille and the gaps of other plate-wearing individuals.
Not necessarily true. As he said it is probably carbon steel, which is lighter than other forms, and if you train yourself well you should be able to perform in full plate armor for quite a while.
Adrian Molina it looks like 50 kg all together. Warlord or centurio or even gladiator (although the tridents a trash weapon) would just tire him out then win
sabbel babbel well, the modern military in iraq can carry equipment around 20 to 45 kilograms in their backpacks and does 12 kilometre march in their training. Take into account what I said that the armour is evenly distributed around the body so even if it weighs 50kg it won't feel like it unless you carry it like a backpack. You can tire him out eventually I guess but it won't be as fast as you think, I mean personally if I'm in a 1 on 1 duel and the person keeps running away, I won't be dumb enough to chase them...that's just a waste of time plus the person plans on killing me anyway so he'll attack sooner or later so why not just take a defensive stance? I have the reach advantage and the armour why not use it? And if you think about it that's mostly how HEMA works...by countering. You ever seen that fat guy vs fit Japanese guy MMA fight? The Japanese guy just ran around the ring trying to tire the fat guy out but all the fat guy had to do is turn his body towards him and the Asian guy eventually got impatient and attacked anyway. Tiring the opponent out is an AGE-OLD TACTIC.
Shield bash as stun, shield ramn as a trip, poor executed and times should cause the shield to collide with himself. Techinque that are heavy stamina draining but very powerful from using the shield has weapons. All of those being heavily punishable if dodged on heavy force setting becuase of the balance issue of offensive use of a history's military door.
Ye I laughed my head off while making them if I had left the audio I would have sounded like a total cretin. I did leave it when I pushed the meditating nostalgic moronic kensei off the cliff if you are curious to know how the entire thing would have sounded xD
Metatron the Shugoki is clearly based on the rikishi (sumo wrestlers) and those guys may be fat but they train every day and they have incredible strenght, stamina and flexibility!
Hi and thank you for your comment! You do have a point but my question is, sure sumo wrestlers to have strenght and flexibility but stamina? Any study has been done about that? But they surely do not do cardio, so sure they have the stamina to last some sumo matches (which normally don't last that long) but running wearing armour on a battlefield? I might be wrong and you might be right but I just don't see it
Well, there is a video called "Asashoryu vs Harumafuji sparring" which features 2 of the best rikishi of the last era fighting each other repeadtely, the point that im trying to make is that those are the final 10 minutes of a three hour session than sumo wrestlers endure every morning, with lots of calisthenics, lifting weights, wrestling and doing stretches, and as you can see, they are visibly tired, but that is something that any pro athlete on earth would be after an intense 3 hour session in the gym, needless to say they are over 300 pounds each. So i think that that video is a very good example of my point. BTW it would be awesome if you would research a bit on the topic and make a video about the traditions of that ancient sport, their ranks, their training, they are pretty much a middle age sport in the 21st Century! Cheers!
One thing to note (as far as I understand) that Sumo wrestlers are not "fat" in the traditional sense either, but rather their fat is an outer layer rather than fat around organs, which they deliberately put on something about how they train eat then immediately sleep. Also, note how quickly they can shed this weight again after they finish their career. I am not cleaming that they have the stamina of a lighter athlete, just that they might have more than we suspect. Finally concerning strongmen, a lot of the people who are participating in world strongest man competitions seems to have a bit of a belly and generally more fatty layered than say a bodybuilder etc. While obviously not as excessive as Shugoki, it does suggest that he might be stronger than we suspect. Of course I might also just be flat out wrong.
Lasse Rosenkilde Olsen that strongman have much more bodyfat than a bodybuilder is coming from the fact that they focus on strenght and bodybuilders on looks, having to maintain giant amounts of muscle is nearly impossible with low bodyfat. all high class bodybuilders use enhancements for that. they are weak compared to strongmen and they have really low stamina.
I know it's not ment to be a realistic game, but yeah it bothers me too that none of the characters have actual thigh armor apart from the clingy bits.
i had him before.. i could see mail between the gaps of the clothing.. so i also assume that he had a full mail suit under all that plate(which also covers his thighs)
That lawbringer strangle execution is easily the most satisfying in the game. Getting the chance to literally throttle your opponent, particularly when they are annoying, is just the best.
Just a point in defense of the Shugoki. I read on the for honor wiki that they train for strength and mass like a sumo. The in game executions show that they do have incredible strengtth. In summary, I think the place on the list is fair and the points against them are valid but I don't think its fair to say that they don't train.
I play a lot of shugoki just like u i imagine, but do u really think his executions are realistic? Seems kinda fake to crush someones skull into literally nothing especially when their wearing a helmet, also the doormat one, thats fake
Can't wait for the Lawbringer rework. Hopefully it might give him a crack at ACTUALLY being the best in the game. I also wonder where the new Chinese heroes and the Black Prior would fall on this list. My guess is that Nuxia and the Shaolin Monk would be somewhere towards the bottom due to their lack of armor, but above the Shaman and Shinobi, due to their weapon choices being more reasonable. The Tiandi would likely be just above Centurion due to his armor and a stronger weapon choice, while the Jiang Jun would be comparable to Nobushi due to a similar weapon choice and lack of armor, although the Nobushi seems more athletic. As for the Black Prior, I think his massive shield and decent armor would place him above both the Warden and the Conqueror. His problems are his weapon choice, which is a side weapon that wouldn't do much against other armored opponents, and the fact that his default gear gives him a weird hood that limits visibility and seems to provide no protection. He CAN get a decent helmet with customization, but since this video judges the characters with their base gear, the Black Prior might lose to the Warden because of this flaw. The Lawbringer, of course, still reigns supreme.
I'm spanish so I apologize before writing anything because I'm not a native english speaker. What I was gonna say, I agree with all that you said about the tiandi faction, but I think the shield of the black prior wouldn't be that usefull while fighting on your own foot, because in historical combat, that kind of shield made of wood were only used by cavarly so I might be awkward without the horse. Besides, there's the fact that is made of wood (most of it) so I don't know if it can stand stronger hits. Anyways I'm probably wrong in something, but I wanna say that I agree with you in the fact that the black prior would rank high in the list. Thanks for your time and your attention.
Pd: I apologized because maybe you don't understand me sometimes because of my lack of vocabulary and bad use of the language. Again, thank you very much.
Nuxia has pretty good armor, but she lacks a helmet, so I think she would be a solid mid tier. Shaolin has no armor, and a staff would be a bad battlefield weapon. Jiang Jun actually has a lot of armor underneath his clothed, but he has no helmet, so I think he would be mid-top tier. Black Prior’s weapons, and armor would place him around warden.
@@jorgeag_21 It could stand stronger hits, but you are not supposed to just sit there and let a Shugoki swing his huge club around at you. What you do is just angle the shield so you dont get smacked around, and deflect shugokis kanabo(club) somewhere else, when it comes to arrows, swords, spears, axes and such you don't need to worry as long as you have a shield Wood shields were used for a reason Look up "Skallagrim" He shows how good a shield made out of regular plywood can be And the only things you should be scared of when you have a shield is something like a lance, but in For Honor nobody uses them So Black Prior would be okay He has leg protection so the kite shield is good enough, and his arming sword is perfectly fine for Frontline use unless he comes across people with armor, because trying to aim for weakpoints in mid battle would be hard because your enemy has people around him Then again, minions/the tiny guys in For Honor are the real frontline, in medieval warfare its not just a one on one fight in a warzone, there are a lot of formations that people will use, so an arming sword would probably be fine. I think Black Prior could have a horse anyway, he's rich enough to have a flamberge
Rafael Loper ı don't think thats how it would accure unless heros can actually do side jumps and dashes like that in real life plus polearm has a rly long range you can't actually dash from it or roll away like in For Honor or Dark Souls unless you hav insane strength and reflex
People can do side jumps and dashes, are they easy? no, they take years of training to master but I would think the heroes are above your average joe seeing as they cut down the peons in one hit regardless if they are holding a shield or not
BumpOnALog - peasants who work at the army at the time, I'm pretty sure they wore these because rice paper was cheap and tree sap also, easy and fast to make while being light and strong even stopping arrows that hit the person
@@steviesinclair7418 no, this way there would be no chances for lowdaddy to ever hit top1 again since his superior armor would be counted as nothing but self-restriction to moving freely
the other disadvantages of Centurion is his cape You don't go to battle with cape, my friend. you want to be dragged by the cape? go for it. you want your opponent to grab and yank your cape? go for it
I like how you not only understand fighting in real life but you also understand fighting in game, which is shown by your joke in the end of how weak lawbro is in the game :,) but despite that I still love lawbro and I've put 8 reps in him and much more to come. Great video, Meta!
Well if you think about it, since Shaman’s teeth are strong enough to penetrate metal, she probably has some sort of metal skeleton and therefore outclasses everyone else by being pretty much wolverine.
@@monke6776 if the default BP had an helmet, we would definitely be number 2, cuz long sword+fully armored+big ass shied. hitokiri, jorm, monk boi and nuxia would be middle to last places for obvious reasons. and probably only JJ and Tiandi would be in higher places cuz they have good armor, especially Tiandi
@@segevkrespi8609 Yeah Tiandi would be quite high on the list not only because of the good (and wellcrafted) armor but also because he uses a Dao and those were weapons really used in battles. The only downside being that he has no shield.
I still have to go with thighlander, the big sword BOI. (Plus he does some half- swording to swing faster, but I guess with the size of his sword, it's more like fourth-swording)
Minus the sjw part yes ex machina all the way. Passive called blood trance makes her heal on-hit while an opponent is bleeding. This combined with a massive set of random passives, abilities, and cancels gives her an astonishing lack of rhythm. This assassin class character has more sustain than the rest of the roster combined because the only other healer is Shugoki and if he misses with that grab he takes damage.
Let's not forget that when you bleed and she pounces you (almost undodgeable) she bites of your neck for 1/3-1/2 of your health, healing almost 1/2 of hers.
This was a very nice video, its only 1 problem I have, the Shugoki wasnt fat, he was just a massive bulker. Power lifters arent chizzled super models, theyre big chunky dudes, thats what the Shugokis build is.
@@sayonara72238 listen, I don't know a whole lot about steroids, but I do have friend who does NOT use steroids, and tbh he could be a tiny shugoki. He is a power lifter, and if not for his short stature he would be suited for that shugoki club. I would like to think that if a person was born with the right genetics of a large and stocky build, they could make themselves into what shugoki is with training and a hardy diet. Is that reasonable?
shugoki is has fat and muscles. you can build muscular mass only if you eat enough. you can't be the strongest while having a low % body fat (unless with steroids), it's unnatural
Densel Moore It is true, you can look like that and get it just from eating, but some of the things in game are unreasonable feats of strength for a body like this (I get it’s a game) at the time.
Only problem is your shugoki warrior is a huge burden to his army. think about it when they campaign he will consume more than his ration, will fail to keep up with the strict march/duties... shugoki isn't going to march 40-70 km a day and then hunt/make camp on top of it.... if he did he would have to lose mass or slack behind. hence why it's not effective to have 350lb soldiers.
J Ik im hella late to the party but people who power lift would still get destroyed by someone with leaner muscle in weapon combat no matter how much muscle is there its to the point where it would not only slow him down but it would hinder his mobility while swinging the weapon
For the shugoki fan boys out there, when you are on march or what the modern infantry calls, "Movement to Contact" you are burning calories. Look at the man, yes I understand the sumo body type, hell I even admire it because it would be perfect for stationary or on site work(sentry), because you have the short burst of insane physical endurance, the fat to keep the overtaxed muscles cool, hydrated and fed BUT, I understand where Metatron is coming from. When you do typical battlefield marches, even I was struggling to keep mass and stay healthy and top shape to conduct my battle drills(and I was no slouch in my prime, about 192cm 175 pounds and 11% body fat), you are dying for calories and no commander would be stupid enough to keep their vanguard or front liners fully fed and supplied (no ones going to risk support personal getting decimated, lets face it, a military triumphs due to the combination of its strength of arms/ability for logiestics/skilled and disciplined soldiers who are well versed in their battle drills) due to the reason of how easy battle lines/phase lines/breach points/objective/etc, etc collapses under the duration of intense combat. A man of sumo body type would be absolutely destroyed because the long march of sometimes weeks with the lack of constant sustainment would make the shugoki lose mass rapidly. And when you lose mass rapidly you dehydrate at an incredible rate, your body/blood pressure inflate/deflate causing all kind of internal problems( like defecating to the point of dehydration and blood lost) to the point of the said fighter being considered a combat casualty. You can bring on the arguement of watching sumo wrestlers being able to run for hours, okay I acknowledge and agree that is a fair point, but consider the fact that a soldier does marches/MtC for days/weeks, months in the times before the invention of vehicles that allow us to bypass hazardous terrain. The shugoki would be dying in those conditions before he even sees the enemy let alone combat them. Hell, I had a guy in my unit who was built much better than the shugoki(I would say his body type is closer to the conqueror but minus a six inches) and we had to MEDIVAC him because he simply passed out during a MtC and was out of the fight, oh and he had the same exact afflictions as stated above. Actual combat rewards those who of a good balance of strength and stamina and the ability to sustain that body index for a very long time.
A caveat to this is that I'm basing these intense movement in a field where the cheapest definition of combatants is equipped with slug launchers that fire at the base cyclic rate of 600 rps and at the average distance of 200 meters. I cant even began to fathom having to chase said enemy and strike them down in extreme close combat. And if your going to bring up the fact of battle formations/shield and spear walls/ etc,etc meet together to conduct warfare, the shugoki's weapon is even more useless. Try swing that in close combat and not hit your friendlies in close proximity before getting gutted by a unskilled combatant with a cheap stick and a small piece of metal at its end.
Jimmy Shiung I done my share of soldiering size gives an initial advantage in a fight but in an endurance contest the leaner more agile fighter will win as part of a military unit you move at the pace of the unit you will find this difficult if you are carrying a bunch of unnecessary weight
Anyone whos been in the military and or read a historical book about war. Would know the fat boy would die from nature etc before even reaching the battlefield
as a rep 23 lawbringer main, i was really pleased to find out that my favorite and best character made the top on this list. This is why I feel he needs a rework and needs to be given hyper armor
So together would the knights be almost unstoppable to the other factions? Mainly the top 3 though. Imagine the top 3 knights all together against the others, they would be terrifying, especially given what you said about their armour and lawbringer being a giant.
No I feel that weapons like the Great Dane axe and the shugokis bat would be very daunting even for armored opponents not to mention the brain hemorrhage that would happen if you were to be hit in the face by the bat .
Fun fact and late comment: I only saw one person point out that the Nobushi uses a 'Naginata' or 'Ko-naginata' (being as the nobushi is a female warrior), not a spear. While the spear and the naginata are both long ranged weapons used to poke/stab and cut/slash opponents. The naginata itself is a variety of traditional nihonto (Japanese blade) in the form of a pole weapon. The naginata was used mostly by the samurai class in feudal Japan, as well as the ashigaru, (foot soldiers) and sōhei (warrior monks). The naginata was the weapon of the onna-bugeisha, a type of female Japanese warrior. The naginata used by men were called ō-naginata. The one used by women was called the ko-naginata. Since the naginata with its pole is heavier and slower than most Japanese swords, the blade on the ko-naginata was smaller than the blade of the ō-naginata to compensate for less height and upper body strength of a woman than an amoured male samurai.
I might be mistaken but I do think it's a spear, not a naginata. Naginata are usually shown with two smaller blades at right angles to the main spear tip and are longer than traditional medieval spears. The weapon used by the nobushi in all rights looks to be more like a spear.
*sees title and thumbnail* Oh man, that probably has a lot of dislikes. Like, I imagine the bar will be more than the half. I better watch this *Sees Dislikes* _WhAT_
I really enjoy this video. Even if I so dream and absolutely adore axes (especially dual wielding), I am fully aware it was certain death to try using such in the battlefield. But, good thing we have games then, right? Where we can kick back and enjoy our ridiculous fantasies!
Yes and no. Even if you can't swing it like crazy and the blasé isn't as massive as in fantasy, big axe were used. It's a compromise between sword and mace. Look on internet what a "Francisque" is... Nothing less than a big axe ^^
In real life, the Knights would most likely win. Armor, weapons and tactics are superior compared to the other two. BUT! In the game, with just the 4 main classes are fighting, I think the Knights would still come out on top. I think the Knights are more in sync than the Samurai and Vikings. Just my opinion (Ps. I'm a Raider main. What's the point of armor when a Viking's fate is already chosen?)
yes but this ddoes mean that they become a huge threat and the 2 other factions samurai and Vikings might focus most of their attention to the knights not to mention Vikings could use guerrilla tactics like taking down their farms and forges and then retreating and the samurai could plan ambushes sooooooo (I'm a knighty boi doeh but logic dictates that the 3 sides would be in a stale mate)
I think you forgot one key thing, if you look at the centurion, you see he is classed as a *melee specialist* and he appears to be the only melee specialist in the game. Therefore Papa Incredibilis comes out on top (nah on a real note definetly agree, Lawdaddy would literally decimate anyone else, it wouldn't even be a match to be honest, dependant on skill of course) never made me prouder to be a Lawdaddy main.
Watch out you might offend the weebs with this list and the irl Vikings. :P tho it should be a no brainier that the knights have the best armor since it is actual metal armor.
Ok? But what does that have to do with the characters in this game. Cause it isnt historically accurate as the vikings are just wearing animal hides compared to actual clothing in real life. If it was historically accurate the knights and the vikings would look similar the only difference is how much money either side would have
Ya dummy! Don't you know that the katana is the sharpest blade ever made by men!? Forged in the fires of the Mount Of Doom, it cuts through titanium as it was butter, making it super effective against modern war tanks, wich helped Japan to win WW2 easily!

Toxic Venom It literally says in his announcement trailer that the weapon he's using is a poleaxe.
But the for honor has only one rule: - less armor, stronger character.

With the technological gap that Lawbringer has, i'm surprised they didn't give him a feat where he just pulls out a Matchlock Musket to shoot someone.
+Heart of Iron RGF You are about 100 years wrong.
If you consider what he said in the video, that could be possible. He did say the armor belongs to the late 15th century and the matchlock was invented in the 15th century.
+Adrian Briglezan It doesn't matter when matchlock was invented, he specifically wrote matchlock pistols, which came much later.
Fair enough. I don't know much about this kind of stuff so i can't really argue.

The Italian version of the for Honor announcer sounds way cooler. "Victoria!"
Victoria is Latin, Italian is vittoria which is what he says :D So interesting that English kept the Latin "c" while Italian assimilated it into double t. It happens all the time
And in Spanish, for instance, the Latin "victoria" is still used. Languages can be fun like that.
no joke its a lot cooler tho-
Metatron. When a native says 'adjective' I never hear a 'c'. Also in the words 'arctic', Connecticut...
Vitória in portuguese; English kept how it was, Italian made it more complicated and Portugal just wasn't smart enough to learn how to write it with two t's.
The knights grunts are better armoured than most of the other factions warriors.

Spears, halberds and poleaxes ruled almost all medieval history so i'm really not surprised with this choice
Halberds and poleaxes were mostly post-middle ages though
TOME Julien is it because more plate armor was used?
Greatswords (zweihanders, claymores, flamberge, all that rabble) were also popular in the mid-late medival period and zweihanders and halberds were popular amond soldiers and mercanaries did the renisaunse
@@EA-wr2xg Those were mostly used for hacking the hafts of Pikes to break up formations more than anything else.

The part of your gameplay with the comparison was great. I'd like to see more.

Metatron the english longbow and Claymore was used until 1944 at the beaches of normandy.
that man survived and got kills with both.
Indeed but the ballte and the date I mention is the latest use of greatsword in reasonable numbers on the field
Beneteus der graue Wolf that man is a hero indeed x)
That wasn't the claymore featured in For Honor. Mad Jack Churchill used a basket hilt broadsword (which is also called a claymore) and his bow wasn't medieval longbow. I don't know the wieght draw but it looks no more then a 75 lbs draw weight rather then the +100 lbs that English archers used. Also he wasn't in the invasion of Normandy.
I think the only kill he got with the bow was in an ambush. And there’s no way a bow and sword would survive the Normandy landing
@Branden Vande Plasse I think you're right about using the bow in an ambush but he did capture 40 men raiding a machine gun nest using only his sword.
I noticed conqueror, whenever he gets a hit in game, will always hit the face. He never actually hits anywhere else unless it's an execution.
That's some accuracy for a flail.
FCavie Well, trailers described him as a "Diamond in the rough" so I guess it makes sense?
Good ol' Daley the knights recruited criminals to refill their ranks, and they got a shield and flail. Only the most elite of these warriors earned the name conqueror, hence "diamond in the rough."
Nuffel Bagget I know, I actually main the conqueror, rep 40i wrote my original comment in a way that would suggest I'm surprised! It's just cool to see.

Seeing as (in game)the Lawbringer can be damaged, I presume he was reffering to that one particular guy.
Philip Dyer that wasn't even a warden
daubeny used warden weapon, warden armor and evensome customisations on it. considerign intro saying he was a quite ranking member of blackstone legion whom have decided to bail out, I'd say it is quite likely he was supposed to be a warden. altho I didn;t pay enought attention to moves he used in combat to tell if he used any warden specific ones.
+Trejgon : I can confirm that Daubeny uses Warden moves.
As a history buff, I went into this video assuming the law bringer was an obvious first. I am happy to feel validated and for the same reasons as stated in the video. In fact, it is why I made him my main.
too bad in the game he is quite bad, I would know since he's my main too

I like this analysis.
With all of these videos the question has to be the following:
Is it a duel or a battle? In a duel, these rankings change in my opinion.
Lawbringer has superior armor and still wields the most versatile weapon, and Im pretty sure the longest if you count the spear tip like end of his polearm.
Neo but visibility comes into play..
@@thanhvinhnguyen8731 So?
Knights put up with it, they train in armor long enough to get used to it.

Somebody You May Know Nobushis lights are really easy to parry so the poison lights arent really a problem. Just practice
Also, one Parry against Cent and he dies.
Tho shaman bite is annoying.
Jaja Jeje Well in the end, it can do well against armor.
Pretty much, yes.
Shugoki is literally bigger than LB in game.
Sure, that is correct. Doesn't really help much.

Éttu skít
Beatz Dyer you right
That fucking shoulder is too strongan
Before the video starts I'm going to say lawbringer has little competition
Gabe Merritt imo his armor is way too heavy... He would run out of stamina very quickly
Not necessarily true. As he said it is probably carbon steel, which is lighter than other forms, and if you train yourself well you should be able to perform in full plate armor for quite a while.
sabbel babbel not actually that heavy since the weight is evenly distributed around the body
Tiring the opponent out is an AGE-OLD TACTIC.
honestly i would trade all of centurions unblockable attacks and kicks and punches for a scutum...
vhaelen That could be intresting
vhaelen How could they make a scutum work though?
thats a good question i dont have an answer for :D
Shield bash as stun, shield ramn as a trip, poor executed and times should cause the shield to collide with himself. Techinque that are heavy stamina draining but very powerful from using the shield has weapons. All of those being heavily punishable if dodged on heavy force setting becuase of the balance issue of offensive use of a history's military door.

Cheers!
One of my friends is 250lb and he ran a mile in 2:15. And thats after beating the schools sit-up record, and the bench-press record.

The only thing I wish they added just for looks is armor for Lawbringer’s thighs
Good point I second that
I know it's not ment to be a realistic game, but yeah it bothers me too that none of the characters have actual thigh armor apart from the clingy bits.
Does he wear mail underneath the denim though?
i had him before.. i could see mail between the gaps of the clothing.. so i also assume that he had a full mail suit under all that plate(which also covers his thighs)
alexander wood is right. It COULD just be armour covered by denim clothe. looks can be deceiving!
That lawbringer strangle execution is easily the most satisfying in the game. Getting the chance to literally throttle your opponent, particularly when they are annoying, is just the best.
Love the "real world" footage. Plate armour and polearms rule!
Daddy Lawbringer and his plate armor are the best.
Just a point in defense of the Shugoki. I read on the for honor wiki that they train for strength and mass like a sumo. The in game executions show that they do have incredible strengtth.
In summary, I think the place on the list is fair and the points against them are valid but I don't think its fair to say that they don't train.
Strength really doesn’t mean shit when you are gutted like the fat pig you are
I play a lot of shugoki just like u i imagine, but do u really think his executions are realistic? Seems kinda fake to crush someones skull into literally nothing especially when their wearing a helmet, also the doormat one, thats fake
I have crushed many skulls IRL, not as difficult as you would imagine
All you got to do to crush one is target the week points on it but through a helmet no chance
"incredible strength" he can crush a wardens helmet and head into dust... dont base strength on executions

What you do is just angle the shield so you dont get smacked around, and deflect shugokis kanabo(club) somewhere else, when it comes to arrows, swords, spears, axes and such you don't need to worry as long as you have a shield
Wood shields were used for a reason
Look up "Skallagrim"
He shows how good a shield made out of regular plywood can be
And the only things you should be scared of when you have a shield is something like a lance, but in For Honor nobody uses them
So
Black Prior would be okay
He has leg protection so the kite shield is good enough, and his arming sword is perfectly fine for Frontline use unless he comes across people with armor, because trying to aim for weakpoints in mid battle would be hard because your enemy has people around him
Then again, minions/the tiny guys in For Honor are the real frontline, in medieval warfare its not just a one on one fight in a warzone, there are a lot of formations that people will use, so an arming sword would probably be fine.
I think Black Prior could have a horse anyway, he's rich enough to have a flamberge
Nah fuck lawbringer
The Shugoki has a very reasonable power lifter build if you take the girth of his torso armour into account. He's not a runner but far from unfit.
Rafael Loper ı don't think thats how it would accure unless heros can actually do side jumps and dashes like that in real life plus polearm has a rly long range you can't actually dash from it or roll away like in For Honor or Dark Souls unless you hav insane strength and reflex
People can do side jumps and dashes, are they easy? no, they take years of training to master but I would think the heroes are above your average joe seeing as they cut down the peons in one hit regardless if they are holding a shield or not
I thought samurai armor where rice paper stacked (for layers) and glued together by tree sap....

Kinda wanna see where Hitokiri, Black Prior, The Wu Lin and the new Jormungander would fit
I agree, the new characters would be interesting to see placed on this list

wait has goobisoft gone full sjw and given her mary sue ex Machina OPness powers??? (I don't clearly play the game just curious)
Niko Soukkala I don't think it's much of SJW agenda, more like bad game balancing and design
Densel Moore
It is true, you can look like that and get it just from eating, but some of the things in game are unreasonable feats of strength for a body like this (I get it’s a game) at the time.
Only problem is your shugoki warrior is a huge burden to his army. think about it
when they campaign he will consume more than his ration, will fail to keep up with the strict march/duties... shugoki isn't going to march 40-70 km a day and then hunt/make camp on top of it.... if he did he would have to lose mass or slack behind. hence why it's not effective to have 350lb soldiers.
J
Ik im hella late to the party but people who power lift would still get destroyed by someone with leaner muscle in weapon combat no matter how much muscle is there its to the point where it would not only slow him down but it would hinder his mobility while swinging the weapon

Thank you Kanye, very cool!

No surprise Shaman would be the worst when looking at it from a realistic standpoint.
Glad you agree pal
they ruined the game with the two new classes, I haven't played sense they came out, killed it for me, might as well make a caster that uses magic
funny how she is OP ingame but horrible IRL XD
In real life, the Knights would most likely win. Armor, weapons and tactics are superior compared to the other two.
BUT! In the game, with just the 4 main classes are fighting, I think the Knights would still come out on top. I think the Knights are more in sync than the Samurai and Vikings. Just my opinion
(Ps. I'm a Raider main. What's the point of armor when a Viking's fate is already chosen?)
Black Jack
All of the factions had good warriors, but the knights have skill + technology. The west has always been on the leading edge with tech
*screams in gunpowder*
Black Jack but it is comprobated that a katana wouldn’t cut through an armor
Centurions (roman army)would win for tactics weapons not armor
yes but this ddoes mean that they become a huge threat and the 2 other factions samurai and Vikings might focus most of their attention to the knights not to mention Vikings could use guerrilla tactics like taking down their farms and forges and then retreating and the samurai could plan ambushes sooooooo (I'm a knighty boi doeh but logic dictates that the 3 sides would be in a stale mate)
The really big guy with giant weapon and armor thicker then most peoples entire body’s kills the people who are tiny and ate shirtles???????? Insane

If it was historically accurate the knights and the vikings would look similar the only difference is how much money either side would have
Craig Fox at least we all agree
The weebs never stood a chance
