Looks like you enjoyed your first backpacking trip and I bet you are going to have many more of these in your future. You did awesome! You made me laugh about the water. It's funny how it can take a few minutes before you notice an aftertaste.
That was a good hike you did great for the first time, It takes some time to get used to . My first four day hike was a disaster , its a learning curve. You pack looks like its riding to high, lower it a little put more weigh on your hips with the hip belt. The bugs you need to make a fire or use a Thermacell on your fuel can. Hand sanitizer will a nice fire and its cheap. This was great video the fall colors are beautiful , great video.
Bugs can be rough. It it’s part of the fun. Type 2 fun. Good call on camping when you did. Go with what you know because when you keep moving forward you risk not finding anything or have it taken and then you have to go even farther.
Congratulations on your first backpacking trip! As for the water after taste,I always take flavoring packs as I hardly ever drink plain water. Great job!
I guess the wide stream we keep seeing is Choke Creek? It's really pretty. Looks like you had nice hiking weather. Three miles of road walking, oof. Those roads get pretty hard under my feet after about 2. Looks like it was a satisfying experience overall!
The last day hit me hard, made me think of you on the Dolly Sods trail, I was like... If Dave could do that!? Then I can push through this long road walk! Haha
You seemed to be rested up and ready to get out in nature. A wrong turn is not necessarily wrong if it gets you to where you're going. That was quite a scenic road through the woods. I also enjoyed how you complimented the scenes with different types of music. You're doing great!
@@LumberjackPa Thanx! After I realized I had gone the wrong way for over half a mile and it just meant having to road walk.. I was like, guess we are road walking cuz I was starting to hurt and didn’t want to trek back through all the mud and rocks again! 😆
That's always the gamble do you continue on to see if there is a better camp. Nice thing about our state forest is you don't have to stay at an established site if its ever to crowded. It looks like you avoided the thunderstorms that hit part of the state that Saturday night. We got a good part of that storm on our AT section hike. So the big question is are you hooked now?
This was my 1st time Backpacking in Pinchot or doing any hiking there for that matter. It is beautiful and great for a beginner like me. I hope to do the North Loop in Pinchot by the end of this month.
hi darcy! here by way of lifesahobby's rec. this was a really fun watch, pinchot looks beautiful. i appreciate your honesty on how challenging things can be out there. what shoes do you have on there? are the waterproof? i don't get to camp as often as i'd like. i'll have to go back and catch up a bit on your camps. i'm all, who's milo? what kind of pup? 😂 i'm going to have to thank owen for this rec! i think i'm really going to enjoy your channel, darcy! have a great week!
Welcome to my channel! The shoes I have on are Lone Peak 6, they are not fully waterproof but when wet they dry really quickly, and I have yet to get any blisters after wearing them. Milo is my 1.5-year-old yellow Labrador, hopefully he will be going on some hikes with me in the future, right now he gets crazy around other people and dogs.
Did you say bit by spiders?! No ma’am! lol also can I say how much more confident and natural you’ve become on your channel? Love seeing your growth as a creator! For the water, is that normal to have that after taste? I’m scared to try filtered water like that haha.
I was so scared I was going to get sick but I survived just fine. I think it's normal to have an after taste. Next time I'll but in my electrolyte pack to hopefully cover up the after taste! I got bit by both mosquito's and spiders! Not fun... Ha!
Love the start of this one . Any plantain plants in that area ? It's a type of weed . Very enjoyable watching part two . Fantastic vistas on the exit . You got your reward from nature . 👍👍🦾🔥
thank's Darcy to have something relaxing to watch to end the day. your really doing nice work with the videos and music.

@@backpackingadventures4813 I’m pretty sure I would have had to camp on a hill right on top of the trail because the hikers were coming and going… !?
Another beautiful episode, this whole episode has that “natural” feeling! Amazing work, so nicely executed 👌👌
I can't please everyone all the time, but I try...

Nice hike! Seems like all the nice loop hikes in Pa are a solid 2-3 hours away for me. I'll have to grab some maps for Pinchot
