    3 mins into the video, you say the person tacking has right of way, but I don't think the other person coming your way could do very much when someone suddenly does a tack in their direction at the distance they have. I think everyone has a responsibility, not just say, that's the rules. Thanks for the great videos, I think you have sold me onto getting Gong gear. Cheers

      Both of them passed the buoy they were supposed to turn around already when WindAddict initiated his tack, so it shouldn't have been surprising to sailor on Ozone wing that someone downwind of him is turning. He just didn't pay attention

      @@borino16 AAaa right, that makes sense, I get it now. Thanks for the info and keep up the good videos, many thanks.

      I agree with borino16. The guy was going very fast, so hard for me to anticipate. And he has the obligation to give room to everyone tacking. So he shouldn't just keep the wing down and go fast. He has to get the wing up to see others. Obviously he didn't care.

      That's a tough situation. I've been in similar situations racing. There wasn't really anything he could do (if he doesn't know how to tack). He may not have even seen you tack. He was avoiding other riders who had already tacked onto starboard, and was probably looking back to see the mark.

    Really well done Claudio! You did not fall and you kept flying in this particular race which is great. I am glad you solved the mast ventilation issue by using a thinner mast. Did you measure your speed in this race? I agree with nfinnigan that you should look if you have enough space for a manouver even when you have right of way. The modern wings lack the windows of older wings so on the lee side I also see nothing. To see something I have to lift the wing completely above my head, in a race that is not done.

      Thank you! I couldn't measure my speed as I left my start watch at home and had to use the Garmin as my start watch. Look at the responses to nfinnigan's comment. The other guy had the obligation to lift his wing to check if others are tacking. You cannot just cut through there full speed with your wing down if you know that you don't have right of way. As I said in the video, the organisers confirmed he should have been disqualified.

    Very nice video, and wow very close call, could have been a nasty event. Board looks great by the way, yes I guess on a Northly that spot is protected by the mountain shadow, when was this race and where do they advertise such races?

      Thanks! The race was in September. They advertise this stuff in a whatsapp community which has most riders in Catalunya in it. It's called "Perpetradors Comunity"

    Nice to compete in such an event. You gain a lot of experience out of it. I saw you using new Droid Aramid X. How do you compare it to your "old" wings you have in your quiver? Is it worth investing in this "new" model?

      @windaddict  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's nice. The big difference is that it is lighter and that the structure is very stiff. I think the lightness actually makes bringing the wing from one side to the other in jibes easier and faster. I think that could be a great advantage in light wind to avoid backwinding. But I haven't tried yet in light conditions. Overall I am happy with it so far, but need to test it more.

      @@windaddict Will you consider to review this wing? It is new material and design and there is not a lot of videos on YT regarding this model. I am really curious about big sizes 6 or 6,5 m2, how they behave in light conditions and how you prepare the wing, especially with carbon boom. BTW, what was the length/size of the harness lines?

    • @windaddict
      @windaddict  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe. But I would want to use it for a longer period before a review. I am also considering getting it in different sizes. Harness lines are the longest, XL.

    What rule says you have to give space to a boat that is tacking in a mark?

    • @windaddict
      @windaddict  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was a rule set by the officials organising the event

      @@windaddict Wow, I'm interested in knowing how they published a modification to so many rules in section C. I think it's extremely complex. Where can I consult it?
      Over time the RRV will have to adapt to these new modalities of sailing, we are already seeing it.
