Royal Gardens Zone's layout is sad. You just keep on running forward without stopping and without hitting any enem -- oh, wait. There are no enemies in that Zone.
Even though Royal Gardens Zone is just Marble Gardens Zone ported over from Sonic 3, I think UtopiaUK, Markey Jester, and Lips2k7 should come back to this ROM hack and add new stuff to it, plus work on Royal Gardens Zone's layout and put a few dozen or so enemies in that Zone (and work on the bugs) someday.
@Jenny Wakeman I agree with you. The download link of ''Sonic Redemption'' was taken down from Sonic Retro in early 2009 with a statement saying that the hack was going to be reworked on with a better build coming out later that summer, but strangely it never materialised? A year later in 2010 Markey Jester went solo with Sonic 1 Brother Trouble which took him 3 builds to make and that hack still never saw a finished version. Not sure what the other two got up to?
In this build of the game there is a fatal crash that occurs everytime ''Spring Stadium'' is heard as that particular music track is corrupted so it plays on Radiant Plaza Zone Act 1 so that stage crashes one second into the title card, on top of that there is an ''ADDRESS ERROR/ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION'' that occurs at the end of every level that is cleared. I myself have looked into this rom through a hex editor and I maybe able to fix the address error but I can't fix the corrupted ''Spring Stadium'' track or replace it, and because of that it's not worth touching. We need UtopiaUK, Markey Jester or someone higher up who knows the code and can fix these issues.
You're probably wondering ''well the hack is clearly working in this video'' Amyrose, Razor Zenon and other speed runners are using some sort of super emulator that overlooks every single bug in every single Sonic hack because playing Sonic hacks on real hardware is no where near perfect as seen here.

@@adamlips1711 I understand and personal matters are more important but I love this game so much and mourn the fact that it was broken and never got finished back in 2008/2009 because it had the potential to be greater than Sonic Megamix.
Adam Lips, If you can fix this ROM I would pay you money! That's how committed I am to this one game and i'm sure the Retro Sonic community would agree with me and would love to see this game finished too. Seeing as how other older Sonic hacks from that time period are also being reworked with newer builds coming out in more than 10 years like ''Sonic 2 - Advanced Edit'' should give you a strong influence.
The things that desperately need attention and need to be fixed are these:
1. For starters, the audio needs to be optimised for 50Hz, the music choices are simply too good and can't be enjoyed in 17.5% slower music, i've heard this is a tricky and hard thing to do seeing as it uses Sonic 1's base driver SMPS 68k with no checksum. If this can't be done, swap it out with clownacy's improved Sonic 2 cloned SMPS V2 driver that automatically optimises on the go.
2. The ''Spring Stadium Sonic 3D'' track and all ''Ristar'' tracks need to be replaced as they corrupt and crash the game the moment the first note is heard, they need swapping out with SMPS music that doesn't break the game.
3. The ''illegal instruction'' error handler at the end of every act when the score tally finishes needs heavy fixing so it won't crash the game on real hardware and Regan.
4. Of course Royal Gardens Zone needs to be completed.
5. There is an error handler issue somewhere in the intro Markey Jester and title screens where as if you don't press start on these screens the game holds to a black endless screen.
The things I personally like:
1. Love the music choices and how the game just sticks to the standard Sonic 1 drums, this should never be changed, (except the corrupted Ristar and Spring Stadium tracks).
2. Love how this game uses a combination of Sonic 1 and Sonic 3's art in the back and fore grounds. Clever.
3. Love how the enemies give you a ring.
4. Love the level and layout designs and how you can speed through the whole thing in each level and still come out with 300 rings each and every time.
5. The Day to night thing in the levels works really well in this game.
Does the music of each stage change after use of invincibility? That's pretty neat.
Also what was the point of Royal Gardens Zone? That seems like kind of a waste of time and space for a stage.

+SONIC BOOM Sorry, but I have better knowledge, and Desert Palace was not intended to play after invincibility, the creator likely forgot to edit the invincibility code, which uses a different playlist for after invincibility than the music playlist itself, and invincibility, looking at Music List 2, which was used for the Act 2s, picked the wrong theme at the wrong time.
How about Sonic 1 Underwater Edition, where all of the Sonic 1 zones are underwater for the whole game???
