- This is a playthrough of Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for PC, including the Hero, Dark, and Last stories, as well as the Kart Race minigame and the secret unlockable final stage (timestamps below).
SANIC AVENSHURE TOOOOOOOOOO! SANIC! SANIC!
In 2001, SEGA decided to release a follow-up to their flagship Dreamcast title starring our ~favourite~ blue hedgehog, and an evil artificially created hedgehog who looks nothing like him - but that doesn't stop the military from mistaking the two!
Regardless of the very obvious flaws, Sonic Adventure 2 is my favourite game I've ever played and since I'm recording the game for the eventual HFC commentary I figured I'd upload the non-commentary gameplay here, as my old run hasn't aged too well.
The PC port admittedly isn't perfect. If you have a high refresh rate monitor you'll need to cap the framerate to 60 yourself with something like RivaTuner otherwise the game will run faster than it's supposed to, and there are a handful of other rough edges throughout, like inconsistent resolutions for cutscenes (with some using pillarboxing which, hilariously, doesn't quite reach the top of the screen).
It's still a convenient way to play SA2, however, which for someone who grew up in PAL-land is something I'm grateful for.

Man so many memories. Nothing but time on Friday nights, some chips, candy, a dark room, and sore eyes after hours of being stuck on a knuckles level. Then go to sleep and wake up early at like 6am to try again.
i know it took forever to find the treasure. It took me like 1 hour to complete the level.

One of the most memorable games of the early 2000’s nothing will beat the joy of playing this in the basement with my brother on that blocky 20 inch screen tv we had. I remember collecting mass amounts of green phials to make my chao look like sonic with spikes growing from his head.

The writing on the wall is eventually revealed to have been written by the big baddy grandpa (or papa?) eggman when you see his recording before the station starts to run into earth

I think it is fair to say that once we as players grow up a bit and encounter more boss fights, we start to understand them better and then the boss fights that looked difficult in the past turn out to be really easy.

@@glenngriffon8032 According to an Article I read a while ago, the Voice actor of Tails in Sonic adventure 2 is the younger brother of the original Tails Voice actor in Sonic adventure 1. The original Voice actor wasn't able to voice act because he hit puberty and his voice got a bit deeper, so his younger brother was able to voice act Tails just because their voices sounded similar and because they probably thought that he could easily voice act Tails. So I'm guessing he probably didn't have any experience.

I just completed SA2 on dreamcast and let me tell you, what an amazing experience. The 6 hour treasure hunting stages to the fun and fast stages it was amazing. Sayonara, Shadow the hedgehog.

I've lost track of how many times I've played this game from start to finish over the years and how many hours I put into the chao garden. For me, it's one of the best games ever.
i like how in the final hazard shadow and sonic give each other compliments and do stuff for the other
I love that chasing the limo mission.
My childhood fav was the mission with the rocket (forgot the name) that was on that weird prison island
Once tried to do Knuckles' Cannon Core mission with no Air Necklace. 10 lbs of nope in a 5 lb bag.
I actually prefer it that way. It's more challenging but it's still fair.

1:53 the way he leaps off of rooftops and flips backwards to face the camera before falling into a headfirst dive is just full of the exaggerated swagger of a black teen

so i hired my dad to finish the game and let me give the last hit on final boss
SEGA just needs to go ahead and make a remastered collection of Sonic Adventure 1+ 2 and Sonic Heroes,along with Sonic Advance Trilogy. That Early 2K’s sonic era is unmatched
I think it would be best a Remake of both Adventure games, it would be awesome with the new Voice acting and graphics, the music should stay the same though
This is the only Sonic game that I ever truly loved.
