I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for 9 months and have watched hundreds of videos on trying to help it. This is the best one I have found so far. Thank you for the insight and information!
I glad to hear that collagen is effective in your pain management. Thank you for sharing. Thanks for the great response! If possible, we would appreciate a quick and easy rating from you, and a good rating makes a BIG difference for us! g.page/r/CSudMUZfg68sEBM/review Thanks again for watching!
Thank you a million times over!!! This is the most complete and useful info ever! You are an amazing doctor to share all these helpful info with us. You have changed my outlook on my feet issues. Wonderful!!!🙌🏼❤️✨❤️✨❤️
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for supporting us! 😊❤🙏 If reasonable, we would appreciate a quick rating from you, and a good rating makes a MASSIVE difference for us! g.page/r/CZWo3fJqJrVpEBM/review Thank you for being such a great fan; we appreciate you watching! All the best to you!
Good effort here, you are really trying to help people. 2 things that really need to be repeated until people get it. Stretching and strengthening. It's caused by lack of conditioning, so get those muscles strong again and increase your flexibility.
Good recapitulation of all the things related to this awful distressing foot aliment. You did forget calluses under the feet. Are often present and cause so much pain one doesn't walk equally nor properly on the feet. When removed, it helps so much to put the feet properly on the ground! They do come back very fast, and in other places, so one has to always get them when small! And put cream, do baths every day or other day. 👌 Had a bad car accident early in my life, and am born with EDS. (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrom). Pain is my daily meal !! I suffer from various painful aliments, knee chondroarthiritis, herniated lower and neck disks, bad scoliosis in middle, and other spots in back. Sprained ankles badly mere times, and the one ligaments torn that are gradually healing now. (A year later...) Physio here in Fr. is not adequate, and alas not like in the US. They don't treat the root causes, like lower back nerves, Sciatica, calfs, or other. It sucks. Because, I can't massage or treat those areas alone! I do as much as I can at home... It's a daily chore! Thanks for your vids. If you consider building a business in Europe, like France, I will welcome you in the capital!! 😁
El mejor video mas completo sobre fascitis plantar que he visto!!! Gracias dr. Tengo 5 hernias discales (cervicales y lumbo sacra), rectificación cervical, escoliosis lumbar, pies cavos, calambres y entumecimiento,várices y sobrepeso...
Your videos are so detailed and helpful. Unlike many channels on YT your content reflects advanced training on all conditions on the foot as well as an understanding of body mechanics. I watched it twice and now I feel better prepared to give a better history to my podiatrist on my first appointment today for heel pain. So glad I found your channel. Cheers from Cleveland
I have done it all. No cure. Shoes are vital (started with MBT, then Brooks, Hoka and NB until someone said neutral shoes only, so now I am into Altra).6 + 15 shockwave treatments hurt a lot, did nothing at all for me (well, the doctor agreed with you in so far as he said it was the best treatment they had, working for ~ 80%). I switched to swimming (4 x 60 minutes a week), have had 8 massage sessions with three different physiotherapists each month for years, mainly to loosen my calves. I have not been for a walk for I do not dare say how many years. It sucks. But I am at a stage where at least I no longer refrain from drinking water so I do not have to stand up to go to the bathroom. If I ever manage to get somewhere near Michigan, I'll make an appointment.
I’m almost to my fourth birthday with plantar fasciitis. I’m a caddie by trade and walk 75 to 125 miles a week. My right foot is so bad I want to cry. I’ve unfortunately survived a ridiculous car wreck and ten surgeries for the pleasure of walking. Night brace and orthotics have made it bearable but it’s not exactly livable. I’ve been through several rounds of injections and omg 😱 the last one might as well have been in my throat. I’m in agony every single day. I’ve lost 80lbs in the last year and a half but I’m still carrying two golf bags at work for 10 to 20 miles a day.
Your problem is half behavioral; great news cause a different cure you haven't tried perhaps. Get a good therapist to discuss how to get another job and address, if accurate, the inability to give up the one you have. We can hold on to anything in life, hoarding is not only for things, but can be for occupations that are killing us. Your body is pleading with you to think out of the box and off the grass. Best, Dr. Steve
@@8246st Dr. Steve… I’m only qualified in my field. I cannot provide for my family if I leave my “career”. Jobs don’t usually provide an income like I make. I don’t want surgery cause I don’t think it’s going to do any real help.
Disculpa, pero te sugiero que cambies de trabajo. Eso es torturante y no te permite que sanes. La salud y la calidad de vida son prioridad.Dios te bendiga y te ayude a tomar la mejor decisión para ayudarte a sanar tus dolencias.
I have had x-rays and MRIs on both of my feet. Just to let everyone know, my plantar fascia is not sore to the touch but my MRI shows that I do in fact have plantar fasciitis. It is not torn, just inflamed and I’ve had it for almost 4 months because I did not know what it was for the first three. I have all the other symptoms but it is not correct to say that it is in planter fasciitis if your plantar fascia isn’t sore.

Very good video,I have plantar fascitis pain everyday and have developed heel spurs in both feet.i really wonder if it's going to be there for ever or do they go away if we do exercises of the foot?my friends plantar was cured after he did exercise everyday for months and never came back, please tell me do heel spurs ever reduce?
I WAS XRAYED AND TOLD THE "HEEL PAIN" WAS CAUSED BY "JUST A TAD OF INFLAMMATION" ON EACH SIDE OF MY TENDON! NO ONE ADDRESSES THIS...JUST ADDRESS JOGGING, SPRINTING, ETC. I DONT DO EITHER. WHAT CAN I DO TO ALLEVIATE THIS PAIN IN BOTH.
Doctor i was watching you the first time I got PF, now I have it again because I was so dumb. I used my hard orthotics that I have in my hokas in my safety shoes when I had my summer job. I took many steps and I should of just bought a cushioned sole. I'm back and im going to try and heal it again. I've done shockwavetherapy so far and im following your advice. Ughhh im so dumb.
Hi. Month 9 of plantar fasciitis. Knee & hip imbalance which made my heel sore without (good) exercises, and passed from Dr to Dr. I’m curious about your office location. I’m near GR, MI. Where is your practice located?
Lots of things that I’ve tried gives temporary relief but not permanent solution. I feel like I have all of the feet conditions he said plus more including the knees going too far back. PF, Tantalus, Morton neuroma, metartarsalgia and shooting pain he mentioned . Good thing they take turns.
Dr un saludos ayúdenme tengo dolor más de tres meses en mi talón izquierdo y ya comienza a doler el otro talón es un dolor intenso más por la mañana cuando uso zapatos bajos es dolor muy intenso ayúdenme gracias Dr
I got diagnosed with plantar fasciitis but I'm sure that's what not wrong with me I been to ER twice and cannot stand the pain not just that but my pain is on the outside lateral and in my 5th matatarsal and cuboid but i also feel extreme pain all the way to my big toe. I cannot put any pressure from my cuboid to my toes at all but have no pain in or on my heal
In the past I had arch pain which was first diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, but later as flexor hallucis longus tendonitis. Nevertheless, it was a year long limping and they suggested shockwave therapy. I've done 5 sessions, and around a month after last one I was almost completely fixed.
I've watched almost every video you've watched and have seen your comments. I have done 2 sessions of eswt and have seen a little bit of improvement. Thanks, this comment gives me hope.
I'm very impressed - you really know your stuff and go into great detail to help explain it and give information and helpful tips for people wanting to tackle their pain and issues!
I had PF for about 8 months its horrible horrible, later I found out I have 2 bulging discs, stenosis, some arthritis on lower back, And some scoliosis, not noticeable. For the PF the pain went away finally after I bought Birkenstock sandals, but now I can not wear nothing else.

nice video but... a dirt cheap DIY method if you don't have any mechanical issues elsewhere IS: 1) surf the internet at your desk for about 3 or 4hrs non stop with your foot completely immerged in cold water do this every day until it goes away. Don't move it while your foot is in cold water. Water.... is cheap... and will aid a lot. 2)after the pain is fgone : walk bare foot at home for the rest of your life or buy you "barefoot shoes" for the 30min/d neighborhood walk (go all in for it with the individual toes sticking out hahah). True story: for myself I took a Dollarstore topperware and added water/ putted my foot in it then relaxed on the internet 3-4hrs (nothing worked for days until I tried this simple method_)
Dr.vuenas tardes no tengo fasitis pero fui operado hase 4 años y estoy con constracturas en ambas piernas y los pies tomados mas el empeine que ejercicio me recomiendas grasias
I have flat feet and am a severe pronator. My podiatrist recommended a shoe without a lot of cushioning. I’m currently wearing brooks with orthotic inserts. I still have a lot of pain when I’m on feet. It’s hard for me to keep working but I still have 5 years until retirement. I’m going to do the exercises and hope for the best but in the past the exercises just made me get even worse. I’ve read that surgery often isn’t effective for foot pain. If you were near me I’d be making my appointment yesterday. My pain is more in the arch and ball of foot at present so I’m not even sure if it is plantar fasciitis.
I’m out of shape but the barefoot shoe is great for shorter walks and now that builds the strength and flexibility. A pair of cotton rounds under the heel underneath the insole. Work on stretching and strengthening.
Thanks for sharing. Exercising and working on flexibility are good approaches. Hi doctor! Great video! Im one of your patient in Detroit area! What is the name of the black padding adhesive you use inside the shoes for plantar fasciitis? I have been looking for it for a long time since I want to use it also for all my other dress shoes that are a bit too stiff sometimes 😁

Thank you for confirming all of my thoughts on what I should be doing. But how do I find someone as thorough as you 😢??? I’m in California. Also, I have supination and having a real hard time finding the right shoe insole combo. I’ve been trying all the things🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Ponte la inyección de cortisona, te va a quitar el dolor por completo en una sola inyección, yo me la puse hace 5 años y nunca volvió el dolor gracias a w
What about scraping your arch and heel? I didn’t see that covered in the treatments. This was an overnight fix for me for almost a month….. then funny enough I tried swimming and that caused everything in my foot to flare back up and haven’t been able to control since.
I have this problem for ages now, since I started gaining weight my feet can’t handle my body weight I guess. Also I am flat footed and menopausal stage. (123 lbs~151cm) But my problem is no matter how I try to lose weight nothing change. If I could just be 10lbs lighter it would be great. 😢😢dealing with the pain everyday. But I don’t want to take any pain reliever.
I’m having same menopausal weight(30 lbs in 3 yrs) and spur/PF issues. Yesterday, I received a steroid injection for “massive “ spur( no relief yet, but I’m hopeful ). I exercised and watch what I ate with NO results. After 2 doctors told me to exercise more and eat less I started to research on my own. I came across intermittent fasting.; I’m on my 3rd book and watched tons on videos. After 2.5 weeks of trying 16:8 fasting, I down 5 lbs. and lost 1/2 in waste. I’m just a wife and mom. I have no medical education; look into intermittent fasting it might help you.

Can you advise? ive seen 3 consultants and had an MRI sxan abd 4 sessions of shockwave and physio sessions which i do at home.ive tried insoles ice etc im now 2 years in and no improvement. Two of the consultants have said its not planter one has said it is? i am fresh out of ideas the pain is mainly in the heels and gets worse throughout the day until its painful to stand. i am.a 60 year old male about 30lb over weight but in good health apart from feet pain
Great video BUT when you have a heel spur (in my case on both feet), then no matter what you do, as long as the spur is pressing soft tissues (and that happens with every step), you get an inflammation every time, every day.
Thank you for the helpful video. I got plantar fasciitis for 3 months now, I am assuming due to wearing 2nd-hand birkenstocks that made my feet supinate a lot. I got some custom orthotics , but anything else than basically stepping on memory foam really hurts...including the custom insoles that i put inside of my sketcher shoes... Though I am 30, might I need the soft cushy orthofeet? Also, I have been limping around - should i rather suffer through the pain and not favor the foot, to not cause other issues? Already I have pain along the tendon on the outer part of my shin, and on the underside of my knee...all started with the foot pain...which actually originated in the metatarsals and not in the heel, and then changed as time went on
Not sure why there is no mention to rocker bottom shoes. They are simply the best shoes for this condition. When you wear them your heel is mostly floating, you land not on your heel but on the middle of the foot. The way you walk on these “unstable shoes”constantly massage and stretch your fascia. Think about it, you rest your painful heel and stretch your fascia while walking!
@@DrTomBiernacki Thanks doctor for answering. Here in Spain Hoka don´t seem to have this type of shoes. About 10 years ago I had this condition and the one thing that worked for me was using RYN rocker bottom shoes for a year. Unfortunately RYN brand went out of business and my pain returned 10 years later so I am now on the lookout for another brand that makes similar shoes. Just need the ones that land and balance on the middle part of the fascia, with almost no impact on the heel. Most MBT shoes I checked out here are narrow shoes and not as comfortable. Thank you very much for the great info you share on your channel. I have learned a lot watching your videos (massaging my fascia with a tennis ball as I type😀). Your positivity is very contagious and comforting to people in pain. Thanks!.👍

I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis for 9 months and have watched hundreds of videos on trying to help it. This is the best one I have found so far. Thank you for the insight and information!
How is it going?
Yes, I'm curious as to how things are going with your situation thus far(?). 🦶👣

Had a bad car accident early in my life, and am born with EDS.
(A year later...)
Physio here in Fr. is not adequate, and alas not like in the US.

Good morning Dr. Pathologist ❤ Congratulations on your video to everyone who watched it and best of all, just gratitude for your professionalism 🙌👏🎬
This is the best video about plantar fasciitis.

Best video on plantar fasciitis on the net! Thank you!

It got more painful when doing standing stretches but when i sat on chsir and did it. It improved a lot
How do you go about finding a podiatrist that will do more than sell you the same insoles as everyone else they see and offer to give you shots?
I'm very impressed - you really know your stuff and go into great detail to help explain it and give information and helpful tips for people wanting to tackle their pain and issues!
I had PF for about 8 months its horrible horrible, later I found out I have 2 bulging discs, stenosis, some arthritis on lower back, And some scoliosis, not noticeable. For the PF the pain went away finally after I bought Birkenstock sandals, but now I can not wear nothing else.
Done the stretching exercises, did the rolling the foot over a bottle... 7 months later it's still just as painful.
Time for a podiatrist
Yup. Complete NONSENSE to say "99.9% of people don't need surgery." What a joke.

nice video but... a dirt cheap DIY method if you don't have any mechanical issues elsewhere IS: 1) surf the internet at your desk for about 3 or 4hrs non stop with your foot completely immerged in cold water do this every day until it goes away.
Your advice is spt on for me. a HUGE thank you!
Mines in the same areas.
I’m out of shape but the barefoot shoe is great for shorter walks and now that builds the strength and flexibility. A pair of cotton rounds under the heel underneath the insole. Work on stretching and strengthening.
Thanks for sharing. Exercising and working on flexibility are good approaches.

I have this problem for ages now, since I started gaining weight my feet can’t handle my body weight I guess. Also I am flat footed and menopausal stage. But I don’t want to take any pain reliever.
True for me. I need help!

A lot of the mentioned shoes have a rockerbottom design like Hoka for example and some of the Orthofeet as well include it 😊
@@DrTomBiernacki Thanks doctor for answering. Thanks!.👍
