    Ally, I've learned so much about light and color from you. Now that you point it out, I see it about me in real life!
    And as another commenter observed, gracefully and comprehensively presented.

    Thanks for this tutorial. Most of it was quite easy to understand. So, when does one use the black and white levels and when does one use the OUTPUT black and white levels? What is the difference? I didn't quite understand that bit.
    Also, while placing the Moon, I would have rotated the layer so that the bright side of the Moon faced the Sun. That would have been more realistic.

    • @AffinityRevolution
      @AffinityRevolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Black and White levels will INCREASE the shadows/highlights, while the output levels will DECREASE the shadows or highlights.
      I hope that helps! :)

    Wow, fantastic! I'm a beginner, but your tutorial was totally clear. I have Affinity Designer, do you think I can obtain the same result?

    • @AffinityRevolution
      @AffinityRevolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can 95% of this project in Affinity Designer. You just can't add the filters I used at the end of the video (to add some blur + noise), since Designer doesn't have filters.

    Great tutorial again. I did not know you could use the color picker in the curves that way...dragging it iike you did. Just a question...why add noise? why not soften or blur the clouds?

    • @AffinityRevolution

      I thought the noise looked nice and artsy. But softening with a blur is another great option. 😊

    Great video :) thanks for sharing. What I wonder tho...In the beginning you make a mask layer of the cloud background. Then you select the mask layer...How do you select the mask layer so easely? When I try the same thing it allways selects the background and the layer at the same time and I find it hard to just select the mask layer. Is there a trick for it? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work :)

      If you press on the mask layer's icon (the white square), then it should select just the mask layer, and not the photo layer.
