Awesome video! I'm going to try this lure. I usually used tubes with 3/8 oz jig inside watermelon or pumpkin. Your ned rig was very effective. I gotta get out there this May! Keep it up bro! You're the man!!

I live in Newburg on the Milwaukee river (in between West Bend and Saukville). I haven't fished since I was a kid but would love to pull bluegill out of the river. Do you have advice on what to use a bait for that?
Small minnows seem to do well for those. Good luck!

Awesome trout fishing I love trout fishing too bad around here the population has declined so much I am a young kid I do a TH-cam channel for fishing called fish for dinner I recently just did some trout fishing and there was none there and just last year I was there and there was lots as catching them about five at a time each time I went now there is known and here they do not stalk at all not even once so it is all on the anglers to keep a steady population I live watching trout fishing such beautiful fish I recently caught my pb bass though 38 inches long!! Monster bass

Very common for spawning sturgeon to just inhale your jig on their swim. They inhale stuff off of the bottom and eat it. I fish walleye on the wolf river and have had countless sturgeon (submarines lol) break me off. More common than you think when a large population is squeezed into the width of a river instead of being in huge lakes. Cool vid though I fish that whole stretch with success as well.

Are the brook trout in the river all summer?
Even in the faster oxygenated water, I feel that the summer temperatures are going to be too warm for them. Perhaps, they may travel down to the harbor in the summer and then back into the river in the colder months. I'll have to ask one of the brookies next time I catch one.
@@FishTails yeah you’re probably right, they’ll travel to the harbor in the warm months and some may stay but some will go back into the river. hopefully the dnr did right by stocking them and maybe one day milwaukee will have big brookies too
@@FishTails Sorry for the long delay in responding. I'd been watching your steelhead and brown trout videos and this one only showed up in my queue a couple of days ago. I only just watched it recently even though it was posted months ago.
I agree that the river is too warm for brook trout in the summer; even riffles won't have adequate oxygen for them. I caught a few of them last Fall while fishing for salmon; they'd been stocked a few weeks earlier downtown and were roaming around trying to get their bearings. I hope they've had the sense to drop back to the harbor or the lake itself when the river got too warm. There would be plenty to eat for them in the lake. Hopefully they develop a taste for gobies and grow big on them the way the browns have. I don't know if the brook trout are mature enough to spawn this Fall, but if they make the run up the river they'll find plenty to eat: salmon eggs and later on in the Fall, brown trout eggs. Same in the Spring with steelhead and sucker eggs. If they can avoid the high temperatures of Summer in the river, they have a chance to grow big for brook trout.
