Yep our DNR truly sucks, we would catch and release the big pigs in Elk Rapids and in the spring troll South of Leland and nuke them trolling the beach

This was water part of Lake Michigan, one of the great lakes bordering the US and Canada. But yes there are some populations of browns that are sea-run as well. Probably in your area and ireland. Ask around there.

GREAT BROWNEE!!!! What diameter is your 8 lb. We fished for steelhead and would get the occasional brown in Erie. 6 was the best for them.
I use 8 lb FC sniper sometimes 6 lb if it’s very clear water
The US record Brown was caught at my lake Tanneycomo I fish weekly . Over 40 pounds .
That used to be the record in the USA. The record now is from the Manistee river in Michigan, 41lbs 7.25 oz.
