- I flew north to go fishing for monster brown trout on Lake Michigan with my good buddy Eric Haataja. We were fishing by downtown Milwaukee. The bite was slow, but the trout were massive. I caught two monster brown trout over 18lbs back to back, beating my personal best record ( the previous record was 17lbs). We started the day off fishing spawn eggs and salmon skein and then later switched to crankbaits.

I like the trout fishing but it gets boring seeing a bunch of TH-camrs do the same thing. Especially since you're just fishing in a marina. Go fish the rivers and streams for steelhead, browns, etc.

Holy shnitzel those browns are slobtastically huge! Here in norcal we are flossin for kings and drifting for steelies,sturgeon are on fire when the tides are right as well.

What a stonker of a fish
Not for nothing, but see the spots on the dorsal fins & top of tail? That last fish is even rarer, it's a King/Coho hybrid, not a Coho but a CohNook!
not possible, the kings and coho dont naturally reproduce here, all of them are stocked from the DNR, every year over a million are tossed into local rivers and streams to replenish the populations. Some of the coho's are just spottier is all
@@colinwinkelmann299 Rewatching this in the middle of the COVID pandemic, and I hate to break it to you, there has been natural reproduction of salmonids in Milwaukee for decades. Not enough to sustain a fishable population, but it has been happening. I have seen more than a few natural Cohnooks in Lake Ontario, this is the only example I have ever seen from Lake Michigan.
Go find a Coho with a spotted adipose fin, I'll wager if you do find one it will be from Lake Ontario, and a hybrid COHNOOK!

The marina is closed it don't open up to the public that's why you need a boat November is when they take all the boats out

You are absolutely correct, Abel !!! And he speaks of educate ??? He is fortunate to have a boat and can fish anywhere in the lake, but he chooses to fish where less fortunate non-boat owners have no choice but to fish off the shore !!! I thought the video was good and great fishing going on but I will not watch anymore of his videos just because of hid attitude and manners !!!

i don't understand why some lakes in cali are stocked with a lot of giant breeder trout that were fattened up at the hatcheries. Wild 10-15 pounders are the way to go

COFishfinder depends. I’ve seen many videos on TH-cam where these clubs just stock lakes with tons of giant breeder trout

its not like its a secret spot, or a secret that we have a world class trout fishery, we stocked and managed lake Michigan to be that way, plenty of fish and plenty of spots for everyone

Next summer if you travel to Minnesota I will show what a big salmon or trout look like my pb laker on superior is 34.7 lbs. that’s really fun fishing especially when the bite is good

Hi I love your vids I live in Wisconsin I just went to Lake Superior for a fishing trip I caught a 32 inch brown trout it’s was huge it was fat too . My dads a fish expert and my favorite video of urs is 17ft sawfish. I show my dad all your videos and he loves them and thinks there cool that you live in Florida and come to Milwaukee. I love koho salmon . Steelhead. Rainbow trout. Splake. And obviously king salmon. Try fishing Lake Superior it’s amazing

I make two trips to Lake Michigan every year.
Pro Tip: When Ican see the Kings and Cohos but they won't hit anything? I use the smallest sized Panther Martin spinner with a heavier hook. Black blade/black body seems to work best for me. The idea isn't to try and make them hungry but just to make them mad enough to attack that annoying little thing.
