Crazy that braid was snapping on you. Brand switch lol. Beautiful section of river, and beautiful fish!
You should use a leader with your braid. Either mono or fluorocarbon or use a softer rod.
This is awesome. Looking for how/where to do this. Could you DM me where you guys fished? I fly fish/C&R only.
Great vid, I enjoy your content. What # test are you running?
Do you still do meet and greets?
Try a leader line .. probably line slip causing your knot to fail ..
Can I ask what knot you were using
Palomar usually works fine on straight braid, but in my experience I trust a braid to leader connection more than a braid to hook connection.
@@CatchReleaseRepeat I have used polar knot on my frog straight braid .. but I also prefer leader line just 3-5 ft ..
Another thought .. could be a bad spool of braid ?? May want to get fresh braid..
Looks like a great time
Surprised your not using your spinning gear?
Awesome fishing!
Fluke and Texas rig for smallies👍 I was always told Ned rig for them, actually just caught my first small mouth in mequon last week!
a ned rig with a crawdad soft plastic is the best thing ive ever used for smallies
Maybe braid knot slipping??
Mine did that right when I switched, tie a polymer knot and never happened again
I'm thinking you need to go easy on your hookset. Try sweeping slower and just keep it pinned. You hookset so aggressive and quick. Just slow down a little and let the fish hook itself? I really miss fishing up there in Wisco. Enjoyed the vid!
I've always wondered if it'd be worth the time spent going up that section. Apparently it is! 🤯
So good!!!
I love super flukes for smallies.
If it’s warm enough just go with no waders
👍
E.P.I.C!!
mean feeesssshhhhhh
Mind spilling the spot? Haha
We don't need j4 over here😂
