  • Transcribe your Camtasia videos, make corrections in Descript, upload and auto sync captions in TH-cam - this is my workflow for almost every video tutorial I upload to TH-cam and for my clients as well.
In this video I walk you through my process of getting all of my videos to have correct captions/subtitles on TH-cam. It's beneficial to upload your own corrected transcriptions of your videos to help with SEO on TH-cam and to prevent wrong words being transcribed by TH-cam's automated transcription.
I employ Camtasia, Descript in this video. I don't usually like to be stuck on a single app for all my needs. While Camtasia is great for screen recording and editing tutorials, Descript is great at captions, transcription and making corrections.

Really useful information that I can use on my existing Camtasia training videos right now. I was using CapCut to get SRT files but Descript looks like a better option using your sync method to apply the subtitles

You post very good videos on your TH-cam channel, and thank you for sharing them with us,
Would you mind sharing with me what program you use to put your face on the video and the background of the educational content?
What is the best way to mix your face video with your content description, as shown in this video?

Thank you very much! I record and edit all my tutorials in Camtasia. In this video I show how I put the camera on top of the content and the transitions, etc: Tutorials with presenter on-screen in Camtasia | Workflow

You have made a good effort to show how the process works. However, one particularly important aspect is that if one had a twenty-minute video, I believe, one would have to spend hours setting up the individual segments' captions. I do not think there is anything out there (at the time of writing this comment) that does this part of editing automatically and flawlessly, except (maybe) DaVinci Resolve and some other high-end video editors.

Not sure I understand. Descript will allow editing captions for pieces longer than 20 minutes. No AI transcription tool is perfect though.

What a wonderful tutorial. I had a question. You said you do not want to publish twice. One from Camtasia and a second from Descript. Then how to you get what you created in Camtasia into Descript? As a novice, I am not sure give all the possible export choices that Camtasia offers which is the correct strategy. Thank you.

I do export from Camtasia (the final video). I never upload that exported video into Descript and export it again. I only import it into Descript for transcribing and obtaining the subtitle. At that time, the video is already on TH-cam or my course, and I never re-export it.
