For my wife's new 2021 Rav4 we did a mixture of ceramic coat and Paint Film Protection. The paint film was on full front end: front bumper, hood, window cups. Front end will look great and help prevent rocks, scratches, and other stuff from the road and weather. Then we did a ceramic protection for rest of the vehicle. The company we worked with used OptiCoat Pro+ We have been doing maintenance washes there at the moment. My garage has the mustang gt in it. Also, still winter here.
Did a full decontamination Saturday and finished polishing on Sunday. Applied 2 applications of AvalonKing today to my 2015 BMW 435I Coup M Sport . In addition, after watching this video applied to my windows, headlamps and tail lights. Will apply to wheels tomorrow. Glad a bought two boxes of AvalonKing using PAN25.

Hi Pan, thank you for returning to AK, the grey matter hadnt registered (probably brain in neutral when you mentioned it) it was so versatile, fortunately I have had one or two deliveries now from AK :-) & my own car is next on the stand for some major TLC. Paint, Glass, Plastics Wheels & exhaust tips, I may need another delivery when shes finished.
My favourite way to use Avalon king ceramic coatings is on the door jambs. I frequently use dirt roads and the ceramic coatings help all that dirt and dust to be easily blasted away. Makes my washes so much easier. Love the videos 🤙🏼
Based on your recommendation on another video, I'm applying 2 coats of CQuartz uk 3.0, topping it with 1 coat of CQuartz SIC on my car's paint, rims, and vinyl decal. Would you recommend doing the same to the glass, plastic and lights or are you only recommending the armor shield for that type of application. Thanks for an informative channel.
You could do that on paint, or 2 layers of Cquartz, and 1 top coat of Gliss 2.0 (easier to apply and remove compared to SiC). Those are paint coatings. Not meant for glass or plastics. For plastics, CarPro has DLUX and for glass CarPro has FlyBy Forte. Welcome to my channel. Question on ceramic for the windscreen. From the video the beading makes it look like it would be much more difficult to see through when driving. With it uncoated you can at least see through the water. Has anyone used it on their screen and what do people think?
People use glass coatings all the time. It actually increases visibility in inclement weather as water flies off, you barely need to use your wipers. Many companies have glass specific coatings like the one I tested here: th-cam.com/video/HHjxaRz8iiA/w-d-xo.html My vehicles always have a windshield coating.

My Avalon King just came! Can I use it to ceramic coat windshield wipers after coating the windshield? Also, I am about to buy my car a ducktail spoiler which sticks to the car via 3M tape. Can a ceramic coated surface still be primed for the 3M tape? Thank you.
Pan: Would you please make a Pro/Con video discussing a spray coating (such as turtle wax graphene), a true ceramic coating (Avalon King) and a graphene Coating (Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating)? Last year I was very happy with the results from Turtle Wax’s hybrid ceramic solutions, but as a dedicated enthusiast I’m always looking to improve my skills and try to new products. For some reason though, I am not confident about stepping up to a true ceramic or graphene coating. I believe I’m mostly worried about a few years down the road where I want to re-apply a true ceramic coating, and the steps to do so. Can share some advice?
The Chemical Guys is still fairly new to market, so we'll need a few years to see how much durability people are getting from it. So based on that, I would go for the sure value of Avalonking.
I am making the jump to ceramics from my legacy of "a different product for every surface", but I am a bit hesitant about plastics, rubber trim, and leather. I always thought the unique products that I bought for each of those materials cleaned and "conditioned" them for continued flexibility and performance. So, I can see how ceramic coatings makes the surface look good, but is there really no need to condition those materials? Rubber and leather in particular? As always, thanks for taking the time to respond!
You have the choice to purchase individual surface coatings for the different surfaces, or one coating like this Armor Shield IX which is versatile in the fact it can be applied to pretty much all the exterior surfaces.
I have always put Aquapel on my windshield so far (every 6 months), does this will be better in time??? (I already purchase my Avalon King, but waiting for the snow to melt before trying it 😁)
Aquapel is a very good glass sealant. Coatings or sealants specifically formulated for glass tend to do better than paint coatings. The AvalonKing has that versatility of being able to be applied on pretty much all the exterior surfaces, but a dedicated glass coating will perform better on glass.
Question. What should I use and what steps should I take to restore the black plastics before applying the ceramic coating? Thanks you for your channel and all the work you do to teach someone like me who is new to this.
Hi Mr organiser if my plastics have faded a little what can I do to bring them back before adding ceramic ? Send me a link if you have one for that cheers
How would you apply to plastic grilles where you can't wipe into the vents? Is there a spray version that you can recommend to return the plastics to black that perhaps doesn't need buffing?
what about using this product and then 48 hours later applying that new turtle wax anniversary paste wax on top then doing a topper on it? Some of us me included have waterless wash only access for extended periods of time
In regard to plastics, what if you left the ceramic coat on the plastic for a longer time before buffing, or let it dry altogether without buffing, will it have higher shine?
I know this is off topic but how can I bring my black trim back to black? It's is turning white not from wax. I don't know if wolfgang uber is causing it. Thanks.
You have to first determine if it’s dirty or if it’s fading and oxidizing due to age. If it’s oxidation, you need to restore it. See my video here: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html
You can't polish plastic trim, so no real way to ensure 100% removal unless you are near the end of its lifecycle. Wash the car, use an APC on the plastic trim with an appropriate brush, and then rinse and dry, and then use an IPA to wipe the plastics. You should be good to recoat.

Hi Pam started waching your videos there great im planning to ceremic coat my black 2020 tucson and just wondering how many bottles of armor shield will I need to cover the suv thanks
If you are planning to do one layer on just the paint, one bottle will do. If you want to apply two coats, and also cover wheels, glass, plastics, headlights and tail lights, get two bottles.
Great product. What if the exterior black plastics have already turned gray? How do you restore the black color and can you still put the Armor Shield ceramic over and will it protect?
You would use a trim restoration product like this: amzn.to/3GWQuXX I also made a video about trim restoration here: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Thank you so much Pan. Can I still put the Armor Shield on after I restore the trim? (I haven't watched the restoration video yet but I will now)
Do you have a video on coating around intricate parts like badges and emblems? I have a Lexus where the badge is spelt out L E X U S. how to coat around that?
No, coatings are meant for harder surfaces. There are coatings for glass, paint, wheels, plastic trim. For the rubber seals around doors and convertible tops, it's best to use a silicone spray which will help keep the seals supple and keep moisture out and prevent them from freezing during cold winter months (so doors don't get stuck when trying to open them). There should be many silicone sprays for rubber seals available at your local auto parts store.
Should mention that it should ask before applying it on the radar surface, as I just told by my dealer that the ceramic coating makes my car's radar response slower than a normal without coating. I'm not sure whether it is applied for the specific car brand or all the car's radar. Also, the dealer cleans up the coating from my radar and it is obviously a faster response.
I saw his video tonight. Very happy for him! I will likely look into it one day when I’m not swamped in video projects like I am at this moment. If he put his name on it, it’s likely that it’s a great product.
It won't last as long on glass, but it works well. Coatings specifically formulated for individual surfaces work better in general, but you're paying more as you buy a paint coating, a glass coating, plastics coating, etc. The AvalonKing is very versatile. One coating allows you to do the paint, glass, wheels, plastics, etc. So it depends on what you're looking for. A jack of all trades, or a surface-specific coating.
GREAT VIDEO AS ALWAYS PAN. YOU ALWAYS COME THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH. I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS THE OTHER DAY. TOP MARKS BROTHER 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😊😊😊😊😊
Pan, can you apply a ceramic coating to a rough surface with a matte finish? For example, my boat's dash panel is painted metal, but it is a textured painted surface. I suppose it would have to be applied by brush, an wiped off via rag (microfiber pills or sticks)
This is not a trim restorer, but purely a protectant. If you want to restore faded black plastics, watch my tutorial here: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html

Pan, thank you as always. I took you up on the recent offer with Cerakote. I’m quite comfortable with my vehicles/pain correction applying ceramics etc. My question is with my boat which has plastic windows along the side (think jeep type rear plastic windows). They are brand new never been on the water. I’m comfortable that this wouldn’t cause any damage but this also would this work at preventing water spots?

Yes you can. It will not hurt the coating. Of course I still recommend a traditional wash with buckets and water and microfiber wash mitts, as you see in all my videos, but if you don't have access to water, then the AMMO Frothe is a good alternative.
@@PanTheOrganizer other question. This might sound silly. Would you still apply wax to the car after the ceramic coating. Or just use the product such as re load ?
Don’t use waxes on top of ceramic coatings. Use silica spray sealants. Yes, like CarPro Reload. I have a popular tutorial on how to do a proper maintenance wash on a ceramic coated car here: th-cam.com/video/yLiePQRMFc8/w-d-xo.html

It is not recommanded to clay it, it can't be polished of course, so what is the best way to fully clean and prep these surfaces for coating ? Thanks !
Why not ?

@@PanTheOrganizer I was looking for new ways to detail my vehicles and it came up on a search. Being in Montreal would give me a good comparison with southwestern Ontario. I have no garage and your always giving various comparisons for all.
The company we worked with used OptiCoat Pro+
We have been doing maintenance washes there at the moment. My garage has the mustang gt in it. Also, still winter here.
Another home run Pan! I used your discount code and just received my package. It's time to rock and roll! Thanks again!

@@PanTheOrganizer With the exception of 3 months in 2015 it has been garage parked since December 2015. I’d starve before taking it out on a rainy day. Known for cancelling doctor appointments. While doing the Decontamination on the street in front of my home was asked what I was doing and why. I polished using the Rupes “New” Uno Pure with their White D-A Ultra Fine Finishing Pad.
Just got my two kits today. Was a little frustrated that it took 2 weeks but I'm glad it's here.

My favourite way to use Avalon king ceramic coatings is on the door jambs. I frequently use dirt roads and the ceramic coatings help all that dirt and dust to be easily blasted away. Makes my washes so much easier. Love the videos 🤙🏼

Very smart!

Many companies have glass specific coatings like the one I tested here: th-cam.com/video/HHjxaRz8iiA/w-d-xo.html
My vehicles always have a windshield coating.

I may actually do another coat on my glass. Figure it gets more abrasion from the wipers, which no matter how repellant it is, must still be used at low speeds.

Also, I am about to buy my car a ducktail spoiler which sticks to the car via 3M tape. Can a ceramic coated surface still be primed for the 3M tape?

I haven’t tried applying it to wipers. And don’t apply a coating on a surface you plan on installing something with adhesives.
Pan:
Would you please make a Pro/Con video discussing a spray coating (such as turtle wax graphene), a true ceramic coating (Avalon King) and a graphene Coating (Adams Graphene Ceramic Coating)? Last year I was very happy with the results from Turtle Wax’s hybrid ceramic solutions, but as a dedicated enthusiast I’m always looking to improve my skills and try to new products. For some reason though, I am not confident about stepping up to a true ceramic or graphene coating. I believe I’m mostly worried about a few years down the road where I want to re-apply a true ceramic coating, and the steps to do so. Can share some advice?
Bonjour 👋. J’ai l’intention d’achat une bouteille ou 2 mais dit moi pour il sera tjr aussi efficace dans un payé tropical?
Ça sera efficace peu importe l'endroit.
Witch one is better, the chemical guys carbon force ceramic coating or this? Avalon
You have the choice to purchase individual surface coatings for the different surfaces, or one coating like this Armor Shield IX which is versatile in the fact it can be applied to pretty much all the exterior surfaces.
hi Pan... does the Avalonking Armor Shield IX have a shelf life? will it last for years if unopened?
1-2 years for most chemicals as long as they’re kept in stable conditions and never frozen.
Thanks Pan, keep up the great vids!
Hey Pam,
I purchased a fairing for a motorcycle, it’s fiberglass.
Can this be ceramic coated? I have Cquartz 3.0
I have a video on trim restoration here: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html
Hi Mr organiser if my plastics have faded a little what can I do to bring them back before adding ceramic ? Send me a link if you have one for that cheers
There is one product that I reviewed that will restore AND protect your faded trims. Watch my video: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html
How would you apply to plastic grilles where you can't wipe into the vents? Is there a spray version that you can recommend to return the plastics to black that perhaps doesn't need buffing?
When cleaning the wheels, i take it the purrple/red is the iron coming off?
It’s the chemical reaction of the product helping to dissolve iron particles yes.
what about using this product and then 48 hours later applying that new turtle wax anniversary paste wax on top then doing a topper on it? Some of us me included have waterless wash only access for extended periods of time
I would wait at least a week before using any chemicals or washing the car after you apply a ceramic coating.
In regard to plastics, what if you left the ceramic coat on the plastic for a longer time before buffing, or let it dry altogether without buffing, will it have higher shine?
Thanks. Was wondering about the black plastic fenders and roof on my jeep.
My pleasure Joe! How did you discover my channel?
I know this is off topic but how can I bring my black trim back to black? It's is turning white not from wax. I don't know if wolfgang uber is causing it.
Thanks.
You have to first determine if it’s dirty or if it’s fading and oxidizing due to age. If it’s oxidation, you need to restore it. See my video here: th-cam.com/video/26b8LEWwkc0/w-d-xo.html
Hey Pam would this be safe for interior plastics. Or would you recommend a coding for restoring and protection.
Thank you Robert
No. This is an exterior coating. Paint coatings aren’t meant for interior use.
Can i apply it to plastics under the hood? Like the plastic engine cover.
Not sure... You would have to reach out to the brand to see. I don't apply coatings in the engine bay.
Pan, what is the best way to clean the old ceramic coating from my plastic trim in order to prep it for another coat?
You can't polish plastic trim, so no real way to ensure 100% removal unless you are near the end of its lifecycle. Wash the car, use an APC on the plastic trim with an appropriate brush, and then rinse and dry, and then use an IPA to wipe the plastics. You should be good to recoat.
always good videos ! I apply ceramic coatings on my wood projects, particularly my epoxy stuff. gives good protection.
what product are you using?
@@barryinny Barry i got it off Amazon. Its called Black Diamond Ceramic coating comes with 2 X 30 ml bottles and an applicator. Only downside is applicator is only good one use, so think about finding more of them which i havn't done yet. lol

@@PanTheOrganizer Thank you so much Pan. Can I still put the Armor Shield on after I restore the trim? (I haven't watched the restoration video yet but I will now)
ive been researching what to put on my car and you have me wanting to open a detail shop
😁
My wallet is hurting rn. Lol.
Do you have a video on coating around intricate parts like badges and emblems?
I have a Lexus where the badge is spelt out L E X U S.
how to coat around that?
You simply coat over it. It will also coat the letters at the same time, a good thing.
Is it the proper product to coat also trims around the windows and doors gaskets?
Not sure about that as normally you apply coatings on hard non porous surfaces.
Can u apply the ceramic coating on rubber trim and rubber seals around a convertible's door/top?
So what about carpro uk 3.0? I know they have other ceramics but is it compatible with other trims/glass/headlight taillight?
CQUK can’t be used on plastics or glass. But you can use it on painted surfaces, wheels and headlights.
@@PanTheOrganizer good to know, I appreciate it!
Will you review Apex surface protection metal oxide coating? (From Brian at Apex ).
I saw his video tonight. Very happy for him! I will likely look into it one day when I’m not swamped in video projects like I am at this moment. If he put his name on it, it’s likely that it’s a great product.
Is this product as good on windshields as the Carpro glass coating?
It won't last as long on glass, but it works well. Coatings specifically formulated for individual surfaces work better in general, but you're paying more as you buy a paint coating, a glass coating, plastics coating, etc.
The AvalonKing is very versatile. One coating allows you to do the paint, glass, wheels, plastics, etc. So it depends on what you're looking for. A jack of all trades, or a surface-specific coating.

It has to be a clear coated surface. There are glossy coatings for glossy clear coats. There are matte coatings for matte clear coats.
