      Calvin Green can't really compare the storm from so long ago to this device. completely different operating system and hardware specs. lits like apples and oranges. the storm was the worst of all blackberries ever made. storm2 slightly better.

    • @calvingreen7197
      @calvingreen7197 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike Abrames You're right the storm doesn't compare with this particular model. Justin asked if we had a blackberry back in the day, and I was letting him know. Thanks for the heads up, though I don't ever recall any comparison being made by me. Oh well...

    I've been using the BlackBerry Z10 for over 3 years now and I must say, I don't feel like changing it even though a limited app support. Best OS, UI and software security ever on a phone. I just love the BlackBerry Hub and a lot of other features including the gestures. Haven't seen a better phone than that. Prior to this, I used a Blackberry 9300 for almost another 3+ years and just loved that phone. It was my first 3G phone and the keyboard is just awesome. The fastest of all time I guess on a smartphone, just phenomenal.

    • @Shwee113
      @Shwee113 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kyle DC My first phones were flip phones and I dominated those keyboards. I didn't have to look to text which was great for high school, never got my phone taken away. I had an old BlackBerry but the buttons were so tiny and for some reason I was never as good with the qwerty keyboard as the buttons on a flip phone. I have hated not having buttons ever since I got a smart phone. I make so many mistakes and I hate the new update to the autocorrect because it has never worked properly. Now I'm debating on whether or not to get the S8 now or wait until my carrier decides to release this new BlackBerry. I just don't know if I would be frustrated with these tiny BlackBerry buttons. I just want a flip phone that I can play Pokémon Go on is that too much to ask?

    Great video. Couple of notes. As I watch new time users of BlackBerry's touch sensitive keyboards, everyone seems to scroll incorrectly. To fix this, try scrolling on your screen. Now mimic that exactly on the keyboard. Do that back and forth for a bit and you'll see you don't have to over compensate on the physical keyboard. Secondly, most people don't realize that it takes a good month of use on a physical keyboard to get the full picture. You will understand when you can actually close your eyes and type sentences without mistakes.

      That's only one of the awesome advantages of the BB keyboard - typing blind, one handed - and quickly. Perhaps it does take time, but there is no touchscreen keyboard that comes close. The closest would be the BB Z series.

    I got a Blackberry Curve when I started my first side business. It was my first "Smartphone" and I was addicted. True Crackberry. I have been mourning my Crackberry ever since I switched over to Android b/c I just needed a phone that had more compatible software. I am soooooo excited to have seen this one. Just ordered my Keyone. Excited to get it. I have never used phones for media and keep it on my at work at all times b/c of needing to be able to check messages and communicate to my staff easily and in a timely manner. My work actually has given me a phone, but it will be stashed once this one shows up!

    I'm from the day of Palm, Treo, Blackberry & Droids....all with hardware keyboards. I was forced onto the Note 2 (which I loved) and eventually the LG V10 but both with glass keyboards, both great phones none the less, but glass keyboards. I tell ya, I'm ready to go back to hardware keyboards and the KeyOne looks like the one for me.
    I'm tired of spending more time correcting what I typed than what I typed. Bring back the accuracy of the hardware keyboard !

    From my first smart phone to today, I've never used any other smart phone than BlackBerry. The introduction of this phone is thrilling to those of us addicted to a physical key pad. For nearly a decade, I've hated every second of borrowing a phone or using my wife's for a moment and having to use a touch-screen keypad... ¡Viva la BlackBerry!

I then moved to the pearl, 8800 world edition, curve 8200, bold 9700, Pearl 9300, Torch 9800, then i got my Red Q5, then a Q10, and im currently using the Blackberry Passport. I cant wait to try out a Keyone. Tho i will miss the BB10 OS. Awesome phones! You dont know what youre missing with a blackberry!

    I've been a BB fan since my teenage years, going through about 3 or 4 of them, the last being the BB Classic which I love. I mainly use my Note 5 now, but still switch between the two over the last 2 years. I will always love Blackberry/RIMM for what it's aimed for which works for my lifestyle. I almost never play games or other multimedia. BB is also excellent as my work phone, too.

    I am a fan of BB and have always been. I had a BB Curve in 2009 and I loved it. I had a curve until 2016 when I I begrudgingly switched to Android because I saw my beloved Blackberry had went under in effect. Yesterday, I went out and picked up my KEYone that I had ordered last week. I love it. Wish Blackberry would come back full.

    My first was the blackberry torch in 2011 until 2014 when I went to the q10 which I also loved, I have played on other phones but they don't work for me. Just ordered the passport and only cause I have worn my q10 out. I really like the look of this one. I will look forward to see one in person. I have been using the KEYone as my main cell phone. I have a second mobile number where I am using the Blackberry Motion. The Motion is like a KEYone, but without the keyboard. The Motion button placement is slightly different. I like the KEYone especially for writing text and overall use where there is a lot of typing involved. I use the Motion more as if it was a mini tablet for more serious mobile web browsing.

    I was a huge Blackberry fan! I wish this had been the Storm! I started with the Curve; had a couple of those. The Storm was a nightmare, but the Tour, I think was a superb phone with an incredible keyboard. I'd use a tour with a current processor and camera. Shame how it turned out for them but the phone up top is okay. I forget who own their name and IP but they probably should have sold earlier.

    Enjoyed your video. I've been using a BlackBerry since 2007. When I picked a platform for a smart phone, I wanted one that would be most like a handheld computer, and BlackBerry is it. The BlackBerry OS does everything I need and does it well. Add to that the removable batteries in the past and removable memory card and I've been hooked. I am not a fan of Android so I don't know if I'll try this out. Apps are great but every Android app I've tried on my BlackBerry OS phone wants unreasonable permissions and if I try to limit it, the app won't install. That's a good indication that I don't want that app. I would encourage you to research the benefits of the Hub and try it again. See how other people are using it. It is a huge plus for the BlackBerry OS. I'm assuming it will function the same with the Android OS.

    Great review! Very honest, extremely balanced, concise and thorough! I'm new to your channel (my obsession with watching every KEYone YT review as I await for my own to arrive, brought me here) and this was an impressive first impression! I think I might stick around to see what else you got! Subscribed!

    Got the Keyone. love it. am already touch typing on the keyboard then again i'm a BlackBerry user. have been waiting for an android hybrid with the original form factor for years. the shortcuts make this device is at least twice as fast as any other non bb10 device.

    • @doddsyist
      @doddsyist 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      C Jay pretty sure I can make it lag. but it doesn't lag in real world use. the shortcuts make it possible to perform most tasks in half as many taps/swipe than on other devices so in reality other devices are generally much slower. but who am I kidding? you wouldn't buy this if you didn't want a keyboard and it's the only real option if you do.

    I remeber that days when Blackberries were such a status symbol. Now they are just another Android phone. Great that people that like a physical keyboard have an option. The shortcut keys look handy
    A pity about the software stutters, surely there must be a way to fix that issue. Also the stabilisation on the camera, hopefully they can release an update to improve that

    Great review Justin. I really like the style of your review. You hit on everything that a non-tech would need in terms of practical use information. I have been a cell phone owner since 1989. I have a BB Classic and will likely upgrade in several years. I hit the subscribe button and hope you do vehicle and other reviews.

    Excellent review, thank you. I've had a blackberry 9300 for 6 years and its been excellent, but a couple of the buttons have broken off, so I'm taking that as a hint that it is time to change! I've just bought the keyone and I'm just starting to learn the android operating system. I don't need or want multimedia so this is perfect, and the build feels very solid. I'm just waiting for Otterbox to bring out a case for it.

    BB perfecting its phone for its exclusive, loyal consumers. Well balanced in pricing, specs and camera action on secure hardware, while sticking to what makes it popular and one of kind in and innovative in first place, a full keyboard on a mobile phone. Might as well stick to its own lane at this point to give ppl options, instead be like everyone else for sure cant compete, other companies been at it and only gets better so just get better in own lane i think. Its just a solid ass phone more than capable, end of day not buying a gaming console or media system nor need to break the bank for it either. They really getting right and more on point. Was curious bout other brands like but I'm such a loyal fuk esp when BB been trying to and have gotten it right with tis KeyONe.

    Very good balanced review. As a long-time BlackBerry fan I love the utility design of this phone. It highlights the fact BlackBerry should have gone over to Android 4-5 Years ago. BB10 on my Z30 doesn't give access to the apps I find essential. Android takes care of that. BlackBerry Android Play book 9.7" please.

    Nice review Justin. I've had most BlackBerry models since 2002 and the Q10 is still my current device. Seems like this is a Q10 keypad with a Z10 stuck on top which is a good design idea....for me at least. Have tried the DTEK50 and like the Blackdroid experience. Will be buying a KEYone.
