I used to own mackie thumps and the combi xlr/jack worked for phone audio using a mini jack to dual xlr into the speaker but i want to do the same with a speaker that states the 1st and second jack are microphone only this will be for laptops as well when in proper use
Thanks. If the inputs are microphone only, then you will need an adapter to convert the signal from a laptop to an xlr cable. The one used in this video, or similar adapter will work.
Hello i need a fast answer...... The question is im buying pa speakers a pair of dual 15 speakers will 114 decibels be loud enough for a large venue as they state also will i be able to use a microphone input for audio instead will this work usually i have a input on say mackies similar and it worked i just need to be sure
Hi Joshua. A pair of 15 inch speakers are typically good enough to cover an audience up to 250 people. Depending on the model of speaker you have, they should accept either an xlr input or 1/4 inch input.
Am I going to burn something out because this is what I'm doing. I have a 1/8" male din plug plugged in the phone earphone jack, the other end is left and right 1/4" jacks, don't know the proper name. I have left in channel 1 and right in channel 2 and it works. I have all older equipment...a Mackie 12 channel mixer with Yorkvill NP 25 powered speakers. The guy at the store said that I cannot hook the phone directly to the speaker, but I tried today and it gave me a low volume even when turned up and my limiter light was on, so I stopped. I used a 1/8" stereo male din plug in the phone with a 1/4" mono adapter on the other end plugged into the NP25, but like I said, low volume and limiter light on.
