    I do feel your unit was either improperly used or. Had factory defects. I had mine and drive it's since a couple of months. (explorer st 2021 fully loaded ) and no issues at all. It works flawlessly. I recently reach the 6k milles and nothing wrong with it.

    The way that interior looks explains why everything is scratched to piss.
    Can’t blame Ford for that.

    • @VTS915
      @VTS915  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol that's how I got it and scratches are no excuse for things breaking. That's why I no longer have it. Scratches are one thing poor build quality is another

    Being a police officer, ive noticed the police package drivers seats have the same issue with the entire left panel coming off where the adjustment controls are..... even at mileage as low as 10k

    • @VTS915

      Well it's good to know I wasn't there only one

      Same, My whole seat snapped off while driving down the seat. Ford said it's a know problem. Mine had 9k on it when it failed and took 6 months to get the parts to fix it.

    My driver's seat had the same issue after I received the car from the customer service center, it was broken so they replaced it. And another part I had changed was the steering wheel control buttons, I have a 2021 model, and in around 15k miles the buttons I use most just peeled off, I'm super disappointed with the quality honestly.

      Yes I agree. It's a great vehicle they just need to work on the little things

    I have noticed fitment issues, but mine is fairly new. I think a lot of the heavily used pieces will break at some point, but the seat problems, that shouldn't be happening for a low 50's to 60k vehicle.

    I've got the 2016 explorer sport and I've noticed that each subsequent year to current, the interior seems to be less and less quality. I only say this because I just got my 2016 but while researching and looking at so many explorer's I really noticed this about the interiors. They're similar, just not as much attention given. Notice how the 2016 sport included the panoramic moon roof, 2017 it was here and there in the sport's and by the time the 2018 version came around, it's not included.
    That's just my observation. And no I didn't get the 2016 because of this, it's what was in my price point.

      I feel you. I actually was stuck between the explorer ST and the Durango srt. I went with the ST but will probably never get another explorer after my experience.

  • @thefreem0

    I have had every problem you have described and then some. Just wait for your driver side floor board to fill up with water, due to a moon-roof drain hose coming loose behind the dash. My ST is currently sitting in the shop for 4 weeks now with an intermittent starting/stalling problem. Ford has really screwed the pooch on this one, this maybe the last Ford I buy.

    It’s all about how you treat your vehicle. You have glass on the dash and you just left it there. Your suv is dirty you should take more pride in your ride and clean it instead of bitching about how you broke things.

    • @VTS915
      @VTS915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well it sucks u didn't listen. The vehicle was cleaned and the glass continued to come from the dash. In the end my family is more important than the cleanliness of the vehicle blowing glass in my families face. Thank you

    I think any vehicle can be picked apart like this
    Dogs, kids, and all regular wear and tear abuse will just plain destroy any vehicle
    Not to mention, this is also expected with the average American car - high price point or not - if you want amazing build quality, you’re going to then get way less tech and less HP and torque….
    I think the build quality of the Explorer is as average as it always was - base price is $33k
    So you’re basically buying a $30k SUV at a $55k-$60k price point - the extra money is going towards the suspension, the engine, and the extra premium features that come with the car…. (not to mention the fact that there’s a lot of markup on these higher trim vehicles)….
    The extra money isn’t buying a better put together Explorer - it’s going towards the features that are being modularized on a $30k vehicle….
    It’s lipstick on a pig. I’m not being insulting here, I absolutely love the Explorer ST - it’s one of my favorite vehicles. But you have to understand that when you’re buying a $30k vehicle for $60k, it’s just extra options you’re paying for, and not better build quality.
    If you want better build quality, there are other car makers out there that build cars at that price range that are of much better quality and stand up to wear and tear better - but they won’t necessarily have the bells and whistles that come with the rest of the car - some are nicely equipped but the Ex ST is very exclusive in tech and power for its price range - that being said, again, they only put that cost into the options without changing the build quality….
    But I do appreciate your video - it definitely shows that just because you own a $60k car, that doesn’t mean you’re going to get the premium build quality that you might expect with it…..

      @VTS915  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get you and definitely see your aspect. The fact that I ordered the vehicle and received it a week after I initially saw it is what gets me. I loved the vehicle but the glass was the end of it for me. Thanks for your comment.

    • @tingokuman
      @tingokuman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's all bull. Ford wants you to accept their flaws and pay top dollar as they have done since the early 70s. A $33k Toyota Tacoma does not have splitting seats.This is why Toyota and Honda Dominate American car sales. Ford Explorer ST is a police interceptor. The interior is what separates the 2.
