    THANK YOU 🎉
    I just subscribed, I love watching people use this system, since I learn by watching and hands on.
    I have had great results with this
    system, except for the waist. Usually I just leave out the darts.
    You explained so much, I'm watching this a second time.

    Oh, thank heavens for you!! I just sent for this system so this video is just what I needed. Loved how you explained how to figure out our not-quite-proportionate bodies!!!

    I always wondered what the maths behind the system was. Thank you. 👍

    Just found your channel, this is the best explanation of adjusting a pants pattern, still trying to decide if buying the Lutterloh system is for me, thank you

      Glad you got something out of it. I do like the patterns that Lutterloh puts out...it's so much more modern then most of the big 4 patterns.

    I have done a lot of research on this system and they do say if your waist is larger than your hip, then you take your waist measurement, then just adjust your darts. Modifications foe a bodice, if you have very small shoulders in comparisons to the pattern then use upper bust measurement for the shoulder points only then change the pin to your full bust measurement for the rest of your body. Once again adjust your darts. Hope that helps.

      That makes sense. Recommendations for commercial patterns give the same advice.

    Hi. I just purchased this system in. I'm not really sure. I understand the math. my bust is 47-48 inches, and my hips are for the widest part of my body, which is my waist area is 48-49 inches. I have the system about 20 years ago, but I didn't know how to use it, and I gave it away. I'm taking another stab at it. I didn't know you said go. It did not come with seam allowances or any allowances😅. I just could not figure out why my garments would not fit me😮.
    I will take any suggestions on how to use the system. Better! I'm going to watch your videos you have on the system and I also am going to start my Lutterloh journey on my TH-cam channel In post pictures on Instagram to encourage me in any other ladies
    who are around my size and want to use the system too. I look forward to watching your videos! Have a blessed day and happy sewing.

      Thank you for much. And it is definitely worth giving it a shot. I just find it works perfectly if your portions "are proportioned" LOL But mine is not! But for dresses, shirts, etc. you use your bust measurement and for pants, shorts, etc. you would use your hip measurement (or the largest part between waist and thigh...so for some, this may be the upper hip for example). Usually fitting pants and such is the tricky part, so I use a standard size chart and check the measurements. So if my Hip is 48", the size chart will probably say my waist should be 38-40" (mine is actually 42"). So here if I used the hip measurement in Lutterloh the final pattern wouldn't fit my waist probably. So again using the standard size chart I see what a hip measurement for a person with a 42" waist would be (typically 50-52") and so using the Lutterloh system I would use a hip measurement of 50 or 52" (although my true hip size is 48"). It'll fit better and I can adjust the waist (if need be) and take in any extra ease along the side seam (if need be). Anyway, hope this helps...good luck!! Can't wait to see what you create.

    Please explain the 10-13” waist to hip ratio My natural waist is 33 (smallest part of my waist) so therefore I should add 10 to get my hip measurement which will be too big or that will give me a 3” ease?

    • @sewsosmart3825
      @sewsosmart3825  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This applies if your portions are NOT in proportion. Lutterloh makes its patterns with this assumption. But I like cake, sugary foods, the bad stuff - so mine are not in proportion (so I just came up with that method to help me (and it's been working pretty well). See my comment above for @Zeldasews (I go a bit in more detail about my process). Still have questions, let me know.
