    What size does the patterns come in, and the cost. I like this

      Hi Janice. Here is the sizing info from the website: Our standard sewing sets are suitable for those who are between 55 cm and 140 cm in circumference of the bust and hips.
      Our XXL sewing sets are suitable for those who are between 120 cm and 170 cm in circumference of the bust and hips.
      The sets range from $129 to $179 depending on the number of patterns in the set you choose and whether you get an acrylic ruler or the paper ruler. Here is the link to the website for the sets: lutterloh-system.com/ Thanks for checking out the review!

    I just got mine! I do love how easy it is to use and that I can draft anything my imagination leads me to. Like putting on a flutter sleeve when the pattern calls for a long sleeve or using a V neck instead of a boat neck or whatever. I’m ready to get started with my first pattern, think I’ll try a simple dress with a gored skirt or something easy. Thanks for being here. I’ll get back in here when I’ve got something done.

    @debbierenee7896 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review Crystal. I have been waiting on your review of this system. I have this system and am finding that there is a learning curve. My first two attempts, the dots did not meet as well as they should have. The second time went smoother but when I tried the paper pieces on ( pattern fitting) it needed a lot of adjustments. So I never sewed it up. The system is pricy so I will review everything again and perhaps try the pattern that you made. Hope things go better this next time.
    Are you planning on making sny more of their outfits?

    • @crystalsewsandstuff
      @crystalsewsandstuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that there is a learning curve for the system. I did trace out the pattern a second time because I didn't have the tape measure taught when I placed my dots and I used the hip measurement for the waist instead of the bust measurement. They sent me the kit with the paper ruler and I found my Stitch Buzz ruler more effective for getting the curves to lay smoothly. I chose this pattern because of it's loose style. I didn't want to deal with fitting issues for my first garment with the system. I definitely want to try more of the patterns in the book. I like the look of several of the patterns and I might try a skirt next. Thanks for checking out the review Debbie. Good luck on your garment! 😊💕

      That vest looks so nice. It has some nice shaping to it. It'll look great when you finish it. The fabric is a polyester woven crepe that I picked from Jo-Ann fabrics a few years ago. Hi Crystal,
    I've just spent the last four years learning how to tailor commercial patterns to fit
    an un-average body! I hate it! It isn't something that comes easily because I hated math
    as a kid. This system is BRILLIANT.
    Could I please ask, how tall you are, and how long it takes you to mark out the pattern, cut the fabric and sew it up? That is of course without any modifications to the pattern.
    If I knew how tall you are, and knowing that you shortened the waist, I could gauge the amount of ease in the pattern, that looks sensational on you!
    I do have a Serger.
    There is a family picnic in August. I would love to sew a pattern like yours for each of the sisters, in a colour I know would suit them. LOL From tall to small! What fun!

    Hi Crystal my question to you is how was the directions as far as putting it together and reading the pattern , is this similar to a pattern like McCall of simplicity. I would also like to no can you use this method with commercial pattern. Do you feel like this was better then Commercial pattern for you money. I have lots of commercials pattern. But always got to do a full bust adjustment .🙁 and real think about get this.

    • @crystalsewsandstuff
      @crystalsewsandstuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Thomasina. The Lutterloh system does not include directions, but does give a more customized fit. You don't have to grade between sizes like you do in commercial patterns. You would still have to do a full bust adjustment if your above a B cup. I am write between a B & C cup and it fit me fine, but I don't think it would work straight out without a bust adjustment for larger cup sizes. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. 😊❤️

      I would say it's about three or four inches above body measurement for this top. It's a semi-loose fit. Thanks for watching.😊

    This system seems like the original from which Sure Fit Designs may have evolved......just my opinion.

      Great observation, Teresa. I've never tried the Sure Fit Designs System, but I know it has some made-to-measure elements as well from looking at her advertisements and videos. I wonder how it it compares. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊

    • @gerriebell2128
      @gerriebell2128 ปีที่แล้ว

      @greensilk58 I have the Sure-fit system, invented by Glenda Sparling. She used to be a pattern designer for the old Stretch and Sew pattern company. Her system uses a master pattern with numbers on the pattern that correspond to your bust and waist and hip measurement, etc, and you put dots by the right numbers then connect the dots to make a sloper for yourself. Based on what I see and her experience, it seems her system is based on principles of pattern drafting and grading, creating the next size up or down by enlarging or reducing the size of a pattern based on the differences between the two sizes. The Lutterloh system is based on the human body’s mathematical proportions of the parts to other parts. Totally different approach.

      Hi, Jeanna. I believe they have different packages that come with different rulers. My box came with a plastic tape measure and a paper red ruler. I also use some of my own rulers to make tracing a bit faster. Thanks for checking out the video. 😊
