There were a couple things I was hoping they would add: 1. Make it so we can heal enclave survivors or make them heal over time. After doing a mission with them, it doesn't seem like they ever heal. 2. The ability to prioritize missions with better time management. Sometimes 4 missions can pop up at a time and some of those missions are NOT urgent. Sometimes you just want to loot. Sometimes you want to take out an infestation or a plague heart. Sometimes certain missions are timed, and other missions expire when they probably shouldn't. And sometimes you just don't feel equipped enough to tackle some of the more dangerous missions. 3. The ability to get dropped off, picked up by an enclave or team member, or the ability to retrieve a car. Imagine having a survivor that dies and now your car is all the way on the opposite side of the map. It would be cool if there was an option to get dropped off to retrieve it, or to even get dropped off to retrieve a new vehicle. 4. Emergency missions. Imagine encountering 3 blood ferals, a juggernaut, and a few hordes and retreating to a roof to escape death. Now imagine being able to call home and being able to switch survivors so that you can go save your teammate who's stuck on the roof. Right now, you can just turn the game off to cheat death. But wouldn't it be cool if you bring an ambulance and lead the hordes away in order to save your fellow survivor? 5. Rework hostiles. Make it so zombies and freaks attack hostiles and not just you! Allow zombies and freaks to be turned into weapons when using scentblock. #6 Make potential bases have LOOT! Wouldn't it be cool if the biggest most unique locations in the game actually had LOOT? @@crystal7253 I've tried so many times. It never worked for me. One time I was doing the final mission for the Cannibals and the house was full of zombies just standing there. After a while, the hostiles ran through all the zombies and killed me instantly. Ah, the pain of Lethal zone. Even recently in Nightmare zone, I was doing the Sherrif's stolen meds mission and none of the zombies were attacking them. I eventually just left. Hopefully they add something like this to SOD3.
@@crystal7253 I just added a #6. What do you think about making potential bases places you can actually LOOT, and what if those locations had some rare loot you can only find there?
Baiting zombies to take out the hostile enclaves is possible just really difficult and not really supported by the mechanics just something people do for fun. And the bases sometimes do have special loot, specifically in the building mode and sometimes taking one over you never had unlocks clothes.
What I hope for most is that the last update won't add glitches, and also that when they are finished they should re-release a new "complete" physical edition since the game is VERY different now than it was at launch. That way in the future when the XB1 servers go down, I can have a physical copy to play forever. That matters for game preservation and for collectors that sometimes do go back and play old games years later. (I still occasionally play Genesis, SNES, etc. games.)
I haven’t touched SOD2 since it launched on Xbox. I was real disappointed with how boring and easy it got especially towards late game. You saying it’s gotten way harder is interesting. What about it makes it harder you think?
@@michaelsanders7484they added a bunch of new difficulties, new plague variants of the specials. The highest difficulty is extremely fun, and if you want difficulty try it with that
I purchased the game from the Microsoft Store as a pre-order and to this day I've still never played a full game on the Drucker County map. Started several, but never played beyond the initial "get established" portion in the starter house. Also for six years I've refused to watch anyone play on that map so it remains a total mystery to me.
Stay of Decay, my beloved! I went through some health issues too when I started playing this game. And I put countless of hours into both games. The original and the sequel. It's so amazing they kept SoD 2 going and I honestly can't wait for part 3 and discover what it has to offer. I am hoping for so much - references to former characters, maybe some will even be back. Sasquatch? Whatever is left of the Wilkersons...and Danforth, I hope they'll re-implement that city. Lifeline was effing rad!
I just wish they did one last update to the first game to adjust it to all or some of what they did to 2, especially the major changes they did to all the valley maps made me go "I wish the original was like this". You should really do Hartland before the valley map it makes the story really flow better. Honestly I really wish some of the work stations from Hartland where in the main game, especially the Valley map since it is after that story ways and even referenced in small ways.
State of decay 2 is one of those games that I will *always* come back to and never get sick of. I have high hopes that SOD3 will be the same, if not better
We knew the end was coming eventually, but it was still somewhat of a shock to hear Geoffrey mention it the other day on one of his personal channel videos. I actually think a final state will be good, as the mods people have can stay stable forever. I loved playing it (had 4,000 hours in it) but no matter how many new features they added, you had basically the same 10 missions, no matter which map you were on. It got to the point that features and maps didn't change the basics. I said from the beginning, their focus should have been on adding many more possible missions. Still, it was and still is a very good game. Can't wait to see what lessons they learned and apply to SoD3!
I really hope that update 38 fixes a lot of the bugs that Wushu games caused. Some aren't so bad but the way they messed up the enemy spawning and melee combat if you're not standing in a flat, open field are incredibly annoying to have to deal with; having to run away from your car just to fight a zombie because the game's hit detection has been messed up so badly that it can't handle you fighting next to ANY obstacles just pidgeonholes players into only using heavy weapons because they're the only ones that don't miss if you're next to a wall or car or fence or ANYTHING that the game suddenly can't handle anymore.
Undead Labs has treated us to a spectacular game over the years and they deserve our respect and our support. Good luck to them and I personally can't wait for SOD3.
I just got the game and I'm loving it I love seeing how the developers actually care abt the community and is grateful for everyone in the community unlike developers like Activision and everyone working on COD
I hope they fix the spawns. I know they can't get it perfect, but it's a bit frustrating when you clear an area with only one entrance or exit and get attacked from behind on your way out. Or like a wide open field you clear to set up a mission or plan, then turn around and it's full again. It breaks the emersion and feels pointless to try. Like the fantasy is clearing an area, free of Zs and making a safe place. I wish there was a mission we could do that on the map we are on after we finish PHs and everything else. Some way to truly make a safe city before you move on. Because irl they wouldn't be infinite. The feeling of accomplishment of killing everything possible before you move on to a new map or community would be awesome I will always play sod2. Just like sod1 I still play sometimes and they quit doing anything to that a long time ago. The fact they have continuously made the game better for this long is crazy for a game pass game. I used to play another game on game pass that still gets updates , but they made it worse imo
But why do you need to kill everything? Most of us just kill what we absolutely must and ignore about 95% of zombies on the map. Not to mention that fighting every zombie you come across on Lethal would not only be waste of time but quite dangerous because it would go out of control quickly.

3 things they’re never going to fix in SOD2 -Heartland overhauled with homecoming Detail. -accessibility option for competitive multiplayer looting. -Car lighting going through building’s.
Hoping SOD3 adds a SOD1 Remake expan built into it. -which adds Danforth + Trumball valley (with seamless highway to city) with one big map. -including the 3 “game mode” Stories Reimagining Danforth & Trumball valley forest
I hope Update 38 gives us an ability to make our teammates do missions for us when were busy attacking plague hearts. Because my mission list gets very long and I get busy helping one enclave while three others ask me for help. We can talk to them like “What do you think about our newest recruit?” Like more conversation options. And for our teammates to bring new recruits for us. Lastly take a different car when we wanna bring more than one car with us. Ps. This might sound crazy but what if we had hostiles on the map what if they came to our base and attacked us if they win. Two things will happen one or more of our teammates gets kidnapped and the things we built in our base gets broken we have a limited amount of time to save our teammate or they die. Or they join the hostile group.
I was so happy that one of my suggestions (curveballs) was added to the game. Really felt listened to as a player. Seriously, updates for a game 5-6 years down the line that isn't live service is not the norm for this industry.
i either joined at the worst time or the best time but I was 36 updates late!!! i joined this community a few weeks before the most recent update that I know of which I believe was the improving the flashlight brightness among other things but I'm glad I joined when I did every thing just fits well and feels complete. I don't think I could imaging playing with out curveballs but also I wish I could experience the addition of curveballs. Great game cant wait for SOD3 !!!
Looks like the Masterwork Assault Rifle. Its a DIY gun that you can craft at your base if you have the right facility/facility mod (idk how to craft it in regular campaign but in Heartland, if you have Quincy you can upgrade one of the already existing facilities at Jurassic Junction into a weapons depot. Where you can craft Network DIY guns like the Masterwork Assault Rifle.) hope that helps. But if you want to know more, just google Masterwork Assault Rifle. :)
It's a 5.56mm ar crafted from a mod station from the bounty broker. Thinks jts in the trumbl trull valley pack. But that is really expensive to make(800 or 900 parts without an engineer 💀

I just started playing in 2024 because I didn't like the description of the game. I had no idea it was a resource management RPG. It's the strangest game I've ever played because the learning-curve is so brutal. There have been so many bugs in the gameplay, but, on the other hand, that's what makes it unique. Kudos to the team who's been supporting it and giving it updates all these years!
I'm surprised they supported it as long as they did. Usually once the next game is announced, most companies drop the previous. Thank you UL! SOD2 is still the most definitive open world zombie game ever!
wow. I started playing back in 2021 when i first got xbox gamepass ultimate. This game has a special place in my heart and I'm sad to see it being over. Lot of good memories
State of Decay 3 will easily be the best in the series. The small bit of gameplay that was shown in the trailer looked so good. I can’t wait to get lost in the new maps for SOD3. Survivors, camps, etc. I’m excited!
Even though I don’t play SoD2 anymore and I haven’t played in 3 years lol I still enjoy your update videos! I look forward to SoD3 update from you Sunny! I’m gonna blow the dust off my Series X as soon as I find out when the release is! Thanks Sunny for all you do for this community!
I would like to see them apply their skills and the concept of SOD to another genre of survival. Like a space horror explorer. Something in the sweet spot between Alien: Isolation and SOD 2.
When I first played, the game was on xbox that I got with ultimate, and I just pirate it because the last time I played, it was starting to become more and more broken. I'm happy I did because holy hell. Is it more broken? Nothing like hitting a zombie. And it felt like you hit air back then. Swing zombies felt like you could like swing your way out of a hoard, i'm tempted to revert backwards to older versions
Ever since? I don't know which update since I've taken a break from the game. I hate it when I'm like. Swing a weapon at a zombie, and they're not getting affected like their hitbox is all messed up
I havejt finished heartland because theres this bug where the characters you are told to go meet with never spawn and even though you can fix it by rebootinf, it just happens ahain and again with every mission. Idk if they mixed it yet but i got fed up and just dropped heartland.
Thats fine seeing we finally got an official confirmation for SoD3 earlier in the year just need an officaly release date now, i jsut hope SoD3 has better base building.
The fact I got to be apart of the last update for state of decay 2, means the world to me. If you haven’t checked it out I’m apart of tjere 30 second update trailer for the one they just dropped. I’m hoping I can get to be apart of 3 as well. I love this game franchise
Is it still the case that trying to play co-op is tough because the person who joins is basically unable to advance or heal without playing solo as well?
I have one serious question, if it is a whole different studio working on State of Decay 2 updates while State of Decay 3 is in development, why are they stopping updates? I feel like the only thing Undead Labs were touching in terms of the last few updates was just approving them for the game while Wushu actually made them. Why not just let Wushu continue work while they pull all of their own resources to SOD3? Normally I'd think it's because maybe they're pulling the members from Wushu studios into the mix of working on State of Decay 3, but I feel like they would have mentioned that. Instead, Wushu wasn't even mentioned AT ALL in the blog post. I wonder if Wushu did something that made Undead Labs wanna cut ties with them.
I'm actually glad updates are ending. Too many guides are outdated xD Last time I played was before the update that added plague heart pulsing, so I'm going to have to learn what all the new stuff is when the final update is out.
Update 38, lots of glitches going on. Any time I have an npc mission completion, it severely lags, my notifications are constantly telling me my base info regarding materials, and I had one Red Talon mission that required me to destroy a plague heart that I already destroyed! I hope Xbox fixed these bugs/glitches 🙏
I love this game not to mention I do have multiple endgame survivors blood plague combination immortal traits it’s took me a long time to find them I owned 17 of them.
Make a video from update 1 - update 38 showing all the stuff they did to the game for memories sake and such. Also hope to watch your next sod3 estimate video soon
1 last fix I'd like to see is not leaping pass ladders as you are about to go down if you are not crouched. I know I am not the only one who's flew down water towers.
Just downloaded it again. Paid for it this time via steam. (I used to play on Xbox game pass) It's one of the games I always come back to. I see the SOD3 page on steam and I'm excited af🎉😅
I love this game. Been playing since day one preordered. 1000 hours in game and its great to replay and join random lobbies. I have done a bit of griefing .. but i helped wayy more ppl, dropping weapons and healths and scent blocker for newbies
Yes, there's nothing like a curveball.Making your vehicle instantly lose all of its gas, then spawns a juggernet on your stalled vehicle. Best game ever, for WTF spawns
The funny thing is the curveballs were only for the hardest difficulties, then one day a random crappy studio got put in charge of the updates for the game and they forced curveballs into all difficulties and all existing game saves. It's almost like the game was ruined so most people will think it was a bad game in retrospect compared to the third game after it comes out
I remember this game right before covid and then coming back to it once the pandemic hit. It's an "almost" masterpiece and I'm looking forward to the 3rd game
One thing i really want to see in State of Decay 3 is co-op worlds rather than just joining someone elses world. For example 2-4 people could all start their own communities or be apart of each others. Doing their own things or assisting. Maybe even waging war. 😂 Something I've kind of always wanted.
I always loved this game. At least they'll be leaving it in a very content rich and polished state-- the best version of SOD 2. I'll buy the Steam version of the game soon just to support them further.
Please can you ask them to put advanced settings? Like all the curveball options with sliders and an option to chose zombie density and disable special zombies, imagine a lethal run with only zombies full to the brim with a one hit kill to the survivors, I guess dreaming its free
State of decay 2 is one of my most favorite game out there. I even tried achievement hunting on it. I have actually gotten all of the achievements. The daybreak one is sooooooooo time consuming tho. This game has brought me so much joy but sadness too from losing my characters. Which i think its a very good thing to do. My only problem is playing multiplayer tho. The zombies are very buggy. Even the players are buggy too. Besides the host. It plays normally for them. But yea 10/10 game. Hopefully the next one is a banger just like this one.
What a run, got the version where I got it 4 days early and skipped school to play on day 1 ! Top 3 games for me for sure. I’ll keep playing till sod 3
Got this when it was released, and fell in love immediately. It's one of the three best zombie games ever made. Nothing can beat Project Zomboid, for me it's the best game ever, let alone zombie game. The other one is the first Dying Light, and SoD2 is definitely an easy third in this list, nothing else even comes close to these three. Thanks for the update info!
Those top 3 are definitely the best zombie games, even though the first dying light isn't a traditional zombie survival game, it's an outstanding zombie action game that put the sequel to shame. Zomboid is my go to zombie game these days, but sod2 is still a great alternative.
Yo state of decay 2 devs, pls take a look at Once Human. It may not share many things with SOD. But I wonder if you can pull some creative inspirations from it that could fit SOD context, once human is also post apocalyptic open world with bases and it is a fun one.
The amount of money I paid compared to the amount of time I've played State of Decay is easily one of the best purchases I've ever made. I still play this game on a fairly regular basis
The latest update broke the game for me, it's insanely bright when I am inside base or some house and it can't be fixed. This use to be shadow details issue when shadows are set to "low", but I tried switching between different settings from low to ultra and it doesn't help. It shouldn't be an issue to begin with when playing on all ultra settings.
I think State of Decay 2 is in a good place. I still thoroughly enjoy playing it everyday. In my opinion this great news because it means they are full steam ahead for Part 3!
I wonder if they would do like how shadow of war did it with orcs being transfer over from shadow of Mordor. Have a favorite character or family to transfer over to the new state of decay 3

The highest difficulty is extremely fun, and if you want difficulty try it with that
Man, I wish they could of given us 1 more map😢
I haven’t played the game at all since its release just so it can be complete. Gonna have plenty of content to play until state of decay 3 lol
I purchased the game from the Microsoft Store as a pre-order and to this day I've still never played a full game on the Drucker County map. Started several, but never played beyond the initial "get established" portion in the starter house. Also for six years I've refused to watch anyone play on that map so it remains a total mystery to me.
Time for you to get started then, it is a hard to manouvre, but FUN map. Good luck!
If you need assistance, I am more than willing to help! I actually like that map, even though i don't play it a lot.
End the updates with a new map. That would be awesome. Or id love to see arrows with explosive arrow heads
The feeling of accomplishment of killing everything possible before you move on to a new map or community would be awesome
I will always play sod2.
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Buglenever said need did he cupcake? He said COULD lmfao it would give us players more choices, and thus more freedom...... And youre opposed to that..... Let that sink in ......
@@J.J.Jameson_of_Daily_Bugle There are mods that can stop zombie respawn
This isn't a technical difficulty on their part, just dev choice. If they refuse to change it, then their choice, doesn't mean people can't complain tho.
@@themanwithnoname1839 Touch grass "cupcake", your replay is anything but how normal people behave. 😂 Seriously, go out and get fresh air sometimes.
@@ZeroXSEED if there's a mod that can fix it for you, then it's not an issue. 😇 Perks of "PC master race".
Good company and good game. Sorry to see the no more updates. Hope they put 3 out ASAP.
you can still play 2 just because they stop updates don't mean you can't play the game
1.4k hrs with this awesome game.
And now we wait for SD3, looking forward to your coverage on it Sunny.
I just bought this game on xbox1 and I'm playing Meagher Valley I'm still at the first base but I don't know what base to move to next any help would be great.
I've never played a SoD game but always been aware of it. Should I play 1 or 2 or wait for 3?
Разочарую и скажу что третья часть утратила высоту графики, теперь локации, персонажи и остальное выглядит как пластмассовые солдатики которых забыли покрасить.
Absolute credit to Undead Labs. A great game that they kept updating for so long. I'm not sure too many other examples of this in todays gaming landscape.
Woo hoo i was the 100th like . Thanks sunny for always being my go-to guy for my state of decay questions and updates . Its been a pleasure following your channel . And your excitement made me jump back into sod2 many times over the years . Sod should definitely hire you as a hype-man for sod3 .... its a sad day and a reminder that i am getting older haha but that means sod3 will be coming sooner then later! Keep up the great work buddy
SoD3 is gonna be crazy, hopefully Undead keeps the Indie vibe and doesn’t let Microsoft destroy them
Still one of my most played games. The online community is always friendly and the game is very fun and ever changing
They really need to allow open source to this game if they're not going to update anymore.
they wont i think
3 things they’re never going to fix in SOD2
-Heartland overhauled with homecoming Detail.
-accessibility option for competitive multiplayer looting.
-Car lighting going through building’s.
Bittersweet, happy to hear they're finally going to push 3 more now. Loved all the adventures we've had along the way!!
I always wanted snow and rain in the game
I hope state of decay 3 adds weather
Hoping SOD3 adds a SOD1 Remake expan built into it.
-which adds Danforth + Trumball valley (with seamless highway to city) with one big map.
-including the 3 “game mode” Stories Reimagining Danforth & Trumball valley forest
I hope there will be a weather system in the next game.
Dude imagine winter
I got sod2 for my birthday, and i played it so much. I dont remember how i got sod1, but i had it and played it so much whenever it was on xbox 360.
Just started playing the game this month and it's highly underrated!
0:29 whered you get that gun?
He found it
Looks like the Masterwork Assault Rifle.
There are a few modded Developer weapons that are no longer obtainable. That maybe a modded weapon or it’s from the bounty broker.
Bit late to this video; kind of took a break from YT but damn Sunny, I can't believe how far your channel has grown...When I first came upon you're channel, I remember you had a much smaller community, but I was shocked with the quality of your content...27k is crazy huge, looking forward to your updates on SOD3 and other videos.
Thanks man! I really appreciate that
I just started playing in 2024 because I didn't like the description of the game. I had no idea it was a resource management RPG. It's the strangest game I've ever played because the learning-curve is so brutal. There have been so many bugs in the gameplay, but, on the other hand, that's what makes it unique. Kudos to the team who's been supporting it and giving it updates all these years!
is it just me or is the wishlist on the undead labs website unavailable ?
One thing I never understood is why they never added more maps to daybreak. It would be so much fun with more maps/variety
Thanks Rakamar!
I didn’t know my roommate too well when I moved in. He heard me playing this and asked if he could join. We’ve been best friends since.
Is it still the case that trying to play co-op is tough because the person who joins is basically unable to advance or heal without playing solo as well?
you can still play the game if they stop updates
This might be old news but did they get rid of the zombie kill count they had for each character? Or do they still have it?
I'm actually glad updates are ending. Too many guides are outdated xD Last time I played was before the update that added plague heart pulsing, so I'm going to have to learn what all the new stuff is when the final update is out.
Update 38, lots of glitches going on. Any time I have an npc mission completion, it severely lags, my notifications are constantly telling me my base info regarding materials, and I had one Red Talon mission that required me to destroy a plague heart that I already destroyed! I hope Xbox fixed these bugs/glitches 🙏
So many years of this game and loved every second of it, let’s keep the good times rolling with state of decay 3 everyone 🎉
Game is so overlooked.
It isn't ending. The updates are ending. There's a difference.
Yea they know
Bro did not watch the video
I am really really hoping for a city map on SoD3. Ideally, one for the last update on SoD2, but with them quitting service on it, i highly doubt it.
Will the challenge van still get swapping themes?
1 last fix I'd like to see is not leaping pass ladders as you are about to go down if you are not crouched. I know I am not the only one who's flew down water towers.
did they make it so progress is shared?
Just downloaded it again. Paid for it this time via steam. (I used to play on Xbox game pass)
It's one of the games I always come back to. I see the SOD3 page on steam and I'm excited af🎉😅
I'm waiting for the inevitable "they abandoned the game" steam post by your average steam user.
I love this game. Been playing since day one preordered.
1000 hours in game and its great to replay and join random lobbies. I have done a bit of griefing .. but i helped wayy more ppl, dropping weapons and healths and scent blocker for newbies
Really hope they fix the game in that last update, it's been nearly impossible to play for more than 30 mins without crashes or freezing
Something I've kind of always wanted.
Sod2 was my childhood basically, happy to see it grow. but sad for the end but im exited for sod3! tho
Full steam workshop support would have been a nice send off.
i think i might go back to state of decay 1 and play though then go on to my state of decay 2 for a few play thoughs to add , hoping some decent guys!
Im first time play this game... And now i m addicts 🗿
I remember playing it in 2018/19. Then started playing again lately. Lots of changes and it’s pretty awesome game now.
i hope they can fix the buried campfire spot inside camp kelenqua.
yes! we're all excited for this. this means theyre done experimenting and are now going to focus on making SoD3
They pretty much set the standard of what support for a game should look like. NMS is up there too.
It's been a good few years. I'll never forget my time with it.
my community save got corrupted and it wont let me start a new one help
