    Made a mistake with the cost of the outpost upgrades. Level 3 costs 2,000 influence (1,000 on green). Meaning the cost of a fully upgraded food, meds, ammo, materials or fuel outpost would be 3,100 influence. Apologies for the confusion.

    Okay, I will heavily disagree on the radio outpost. While it's true the radio cooldown reduction isn't great, you didn't even mention the other benefits. It's got the largest safe zone of any outpost, including level 3 ones, meaning if you choose the right one, you can often secure just about a whole town with one, but the biggest benefit in my opinion, is the plague disruptor. It multiplies the amount of noise it takes to awaken a plague heart by 4x. If you're not playing stealthy and don't care about awakening hearts, I can see it falling low on this list, but the amount of benefit a stealth-focused community can get from this can not be overstated, especially on lethal where it takes less than 10 zombie kills to awaken a heart.
    Materials outposts I try to have at least one with bigger bases to reduce the amount of daily loss by 3. Staging areas just aren't helpful enough imo.

      I'm not stealth at all, And even on lethal I always get radio towers because it stops screamers I drive by waking the country up

      ​@@valen1429There are quite a lot of bases AROUND cell towers across all maps. I say around because afaik you can't set up outpost traps when the safe zone directly overlaps with your base safe zone so you can't foolproof the instakill mechanic.

      The cell tower near the Mall base in Drucker is just the right distance to secure the area with landmines, without your base disabling the mechanic.

      Plague disruptor has another not so well known effect: it prevents dormant hearts from awakening whe you destroy another heart in its vicinity.
      This is especially useful in lethal, when youve waken up a single heart in a cluster, and killing it will only wake up the other four hearts. Not a problem anymore with plague disruptor.

    Lethal zone cell tower outposts are very useful especially when you only want to focus on one plague heart or you have to do a mission in plague territory

    Seriously. If you're not ranking cell towers near the top you're not building your community correctly.
    Oh. And please avoid non sniper tower watchposts. They're a trap !

    I think the most important fact for #11 and #12 is quantity over quality to set up some outpost defense for a specific reason or mission. You spend some money on the outpost and get some back when you leave. I had a mission and just secured an outpost and paid the 3 ammo for defenses and the mission went perfect.
    Radio tower can be useful since after a while you are regularly calling in for rucksacks of resources you are missing, and drone strike is incredibly powerful and safe weapon.

    First of all, should mention, that 2-4-6 food outposts works only on lethal difficulty. Normal/green has standard 1-2-3. Also idk if it's your mistake, or my game bugged, but level 3 upgrade costs 2000 influence instead 1000 like in your video.
    IMHO, all posts are useful in different scenarios, even beds. 2 beds reduce morale penalty of 2 members, -14 morale total, for me it's useful when you start building your base. Faster building speed, nobody destroying resources and arguing.
    Cell towers? Gives you ability to farm more influence by calling traders, or kill plaguehearts/horde by calling drone strike or sniper cover.
    Water/electricity? Makes base management more comfortable and you don't need to check your generator/warer collector if it's working or not.
    Materials? Why not, if you have free slot and your base has -5/-6 materials per day, and you don't need other resources.

      ​@@BrickDaniels-qu7bz i always building them. It's top3 overpowered things in this gane.
      If you play just for fun, you can skip it. Big slots have a lot of useful staff, like Armory, where you can craft all ammo without time consuming management, + grenades and military mines, or auto shop, which makes less fuel consumption and less sounds of your car, so you can easily navigate between zeds.
      But if you play thoughtfully, it's must-have facility at your base. +500 or +250 influence on lethal everyday, and you can make it even more if you have some members with Though Negotiations (+30% influence for all actions), and you can call traders all types of materials to right to your base.
      They are like wandering traders, have 500 influence and 3, sometimes 2 or 4 bags of resources. And you can sell them your staff. You can craft beer with still or painkillers if you have press and someone with pharmacology, and make some influence sitting at your base.
      All 6 traders have their own cooldown, 90 minutes and 120 on lethal.
      So you can buy resources, which you need, and don't spend your time for scavenging, or farm influence sitting at your base

    Yup, I'm one of those players that prefers going without Amenities.
    I usually utilize a power outpost and build a still in my base.
    The still is probably the best way to get water, imo. Cause not only providing base wide water, it makes ethanol for strong painkillers. 1 good method of farming influence.

    In material's outposts defense, having one is useful for countering your material's cost, otherwise you just have to deal with it or make a staging area

    Another edge case for esspresso outposts, that's a little more common,
    it can be useful if you want to grind out a specific survivor's skills or prestige, simply by way of extending how long you can go full throttle with them. This is particularly useful for survivors with a malus to their standard gains in these areas.
    Still not worth it in most cases but, hey, if you have the space, and new survivors, it could help with building them up.

    I've always thought the best outpost is the one that provides whatever your base is lacking. Losing 5 food a day? Get a food outpost. Obviously if you're not using the boon you need water and power too.

    I have always for my first group (first game) marked my pool, in their are always mostly RT and some civilians lke the both girly couple from the tutorial.
    The guy +1 fuel (no gas, fuel thats not a damn gas > USA),+2 mats, cook "less eating", mob. ops, searching for food and meds, mechanical,weapon builder, weapon maintenance,ammo wishlist perk.
    And the mostly 1 small garden max + 1 herbal garden max, RT workshop,RT officers barracks,RT tower, Sniper tower, cleo def. core.
    Outpost: 2x ammo, 2x food (mostly),1x pharmacy, 1x Artellery (sometimes), 1x fuel, then through the game and my allies I got enough stuff and often fill the remaining outpost with moral boost.

    Towers are the best for the disrupters alone on lethal. Its always my 1st outpost and food second

      on lethal there are sometimes 5 plague hearts in one place and killing one awakens the others but if you activate plague disruptor it doesn't awake the others which makes lethal much more bearable also it only takes like 10 zombies not stealth killed to awaken one but with the disruptor it's much higher which is good if you have to do missions in plague territories also it has one of the highest safe zones which is good to control a bigger area on the map​@@BrickDaniels-qu7bz

    🤔 Idk.. I am gonna have to disagree with you on the food outpost.
    I have NEVER had a problem with obtaining food resource in SoD2. And I've played this since it came out. 3 days earlier than that even. Including on all difficulties. All my communities have never wanted for food, except at the beginning of a new game. Even at 0 food once, even then I gathered 10 food in 5 minutes. It's not difficult.
    So I have to heavily disagree on the food outpost.

      How are you managing to sustain against a food cost of 16 (8 man community with no buffs) or more per day though? Are you spending 16 (ballpark) of any other resource per day? Surely you'd do absolutely nothing except loot around for food. So you probably have had that problem, I definitely have.

      @theoldmanandtheking - I maybe usually have one food outpost only. I do loot, but it's not constant. If it's a big enough base, I use the Farm/Hydroponics method. My forever base on Lethal, zero food outposts and Farm and a single Hydroponics. Even with 10 people, it's producing 21+ Food per day. I think I have one person that generates a food, and two that does 25% less consumed per day for those characters only, and no allied enclaves that bring food.
      Not sure how I'm managing this, but it works. I even switch over from time to time for both producing 20+ meds instead. I use meds far more than any other resource.
      You just got to make sure the seeds and mod are on for the farm and hydro.
      I also go on friends' worlds, but I never bring home food rucks. Always ammo and meds

      @@theoldmanandtheking I play on Lethal and only lose -4 food a day with 12 survivors and I have no food outposts + no farms. This is because of the Kitchen like Gyor mentioned to enact rationing. And Gutpacking redtalon gives -30% food consumed overall, so after enact rationing it maxes out to -75% food consumed overall. Gutpacking is also very good for lethal because their hero bonus always provide +150 plague resistance to everyone in the community, it's the only redtalon that you should use in any community in my opinion, even over Hacking. But if you don't want a red talon with Gutpacking, getting a survivor with Cooking (Nutrition ideally) is a go-to for Nightmare/Lethal Zone. But I also agree with Gyor that I put Ammo + Meds over Food outposts, Ammo is the best for me

    My outposts for food only give 1 food per level? Is it only the specific outpost that I captured that only gives 1 food?

      It depends what difficulty you play on I think (I should've mentioned that). If it's green and maybe standard the outposts may only produce 1 per day because your community isn't needing as much food.

    yea food outpost is the best, but electricitty in all base is something usefull. water is useless because the facillity that makes luxury items also provides water to all base and converts food to valuables or fuel... where is the noise outpost, it was no2 choice a couple of years ago when i was playing. And you need lvl3 to learn skill? it was lvl2 and the speciallization on lvl3

    Since i only play on lethal with all negavtive curveballs and start with only a single survivor with no 5th skill and no boons so cell towers are important if only for the plague disruptor.....and i need espresso stands.

    Infinite parts for infinite influence. With imediate traders, you would be able to get al the rescources very quick.

    So, some outposts were ranked low because you can use a facility to replace it, but the medicine one who has one facility too, was ranked high, in the first case tou said it is a waste of outposts so use a facility but in the medicine case is a waste of facility, so use a outpost? what's the logic?

      The idea is that you can build something else there. Instead of a farm, you build a sniper tower. Etc. Maybe I'm not understanding you.
      I'm definitely not understanding you. I think it appears to be a paradox. Paradoxes exist and can be true.
